Phil you make this 67 yr old man so proud to be a native San Diegan who has followed and rooted for your success since your Junior Golf and High School days at Uni High! Thanks for the memories, you're #1 in my book. Blessings to you and your family, friends and fans the world over.
"I've been known to do some stupid things, that's how I roll" 😂😂😂. Or him thinking the the almost impossible shot was the high percentage play that's why we love him.
Listening to Phil talking about the factors considered and his thinking about each shot is amazing. He was the scientist before BDC came along. Great character and interview. And kudos to Feherty for wearing that suit. Wow!
Being a lefty myself, I look at Phil as the ambassador of lefty golf. I've knocked Phil many times for some of the stupid shots he's tried to pull off, many causing him to lose the tournament vs playing safe and winning. He's smart and talented guy. He's a great story teller and a BS'er to boot. Can't help but love the guy.
Phil is a crazed dog! Always loved him. Great for the game. Great family man. Never realized how much of a thinker he was. Maybe one more major in him. Jack came kinda close at age 58 in ‘98 at the Master’s. Watson was 59 in 2009 at the British Open and lost in extra innings. Mickelson is going to doing to something like that but maybe win it.
If I could forecast the stock market I would tell you guys. Something about Phil told me he a really good chance at another major win. 50 years old!! My dad passed nearly a year ago. Phil was his favorite current player. Man he must have smiled down from heaven after his win a couple days ago.
Donald, not Donna. You have to love Phil. Aggressive, inventive, confident and one of the greatest who ever played the game. If there were a Phd for the game of golf, Phil would have it. Also love Feherty and his laid back reviews. Great commentator as well.
This is my favorite golfer. He's not the best. But just a real good role model I look up to. He has some amazing recovery shots and I love chipping and he's the king at it
I’m pretty sure everyone including Tiger knew he would win the 1997 masters and pretty much every major there after he was tied or leading 2019 is actually his first and only come from behind major victory I don’t think I’m the only one who could feel something special was going to happen that Sunday and boy did it ever! 12 was the key again just like Phil said for him
PM doesn't need anybody's praise because he does that for himself, just like he always has an excuse for his bad shorts! Find him praise seeking and rather smarmy.
Great question by Feherty regarding 3 shots in front vs 3 shots behind, knowing you are going to win. Phil has that champion mindset most of us cannot relate, me anyway.
Has it ever occurred to anyone that Hugh Grant with a slight voice chance and slightly less English charm, he could play Phil in a biopic someday? Michael J Fox would be another possibility.
Phil we want to do an interview with you about a sport that you wear collard shirts and slacks in to be in rehab...... Phil: I have the perfect jacket for this....
7:30 I don’t mean to dampen this great story, but Phil, that looks like a 3 or 4-iron off the tee, not a 3-wood as you claim. Still a good story though
I swear Phil was trying to annoy David with that stuff aboit different factors with his wedges David is like bloody hell what the hell is he talking about here I jjst used to presume my iron went that distance that's it bjt Phil is the master of confidence and mikd games and how to indirectly annoy people that's the best kind of games you can put an Opponent off and it's nkt actuay directed at there play :) 😀
1500 balls a month equates to 50 a day, how many people can say they average 50 a day? I would have to hit start hitting 375 each week I go out. That takes a lot of balls!
I think that there is a rule against having someone nudge your ball into the hole. Did he call a penalty? It seems that if he is convinced that it happened, he would have to.
Big fan of Phil but asserting that his ball was nudged in the hole in 2004 by a ghost? Phil, I thought you championed science, skepticism and critical thinking.
Omg Phil’s caddy is the BIGGEST DOUCHEBAG ALIVE! He would come to the bar at Crooked Stick in Indy and try to get laid at the bar just outside of the beautiful course and would tell women to come upstairs to talk to Phil on the phone: He was asked to leave 5 years ago for being a creep and he literally told them he was going to tell Phil not to come! (Phil NEVER once came to that bar)
@Sunsetsully Awakened my son? You are all my children. Don’t bring pathetic human religion like christianity even into this convo. And i am god so i know about pharmaceuticals
Phil has been incredibly consistent over his career...incredibly consistent at having no fashion sense whatsoever. From the popped collars of his tie-dyed shirts in the mid 90's to the long sleeve Oxfords and Fonzy-approved leather jacket in this interview, Phil has proven time and time and again that he is definitely NOT cool.
I could listen to Phil talk golf and golf stories for a week straight. When he hangs it up I hope he gets into golf broadcasting.
IF he hangs it up
Get the feeling that might be put on hold for a few years! Go Phil PGA Champion!

I met him outside a walmart and got his autograph over 10 years ago. Mr Mickleson seemed humble and kind. I still have the autograph.
His comments on tiger are selfless, appreciative, and show a greater love of the game over his own ego.
He will go down as one of the most popular characters in golf.
Phil or David??😉
@@justinhall2711 Both actually!
@@MWayne-zz1cr Agreed.
@@MWayne-zz1cr The story about Phil and Jake Owen is absolutely hilarious!!
The king of characters is definitely John Daly.
His golf mind is incredible
He is very admired for his crowd interaction, love of kings and his constant smile. Others need to learn from him, cough, cough, Bryson.
"I've been known to do some stupid things, that's how I roll" 😂😂😂. Or him thinking the the almost impossible shot was the high percentage play that's why we love him.
He’s for his fans. Seems like a great guy
Phil ... God dam legend. Game , world better with guys like this in it . ❤
Listening to Phil talking about the factors considered and his thinking about each shot is amazing. He was the scientist before BDC came along. Great character and interview. And kudos to Feherty for wearing that suit. Wow!
Yeh I was thinking that is the difference between a true professional (hall of famer) and an amateur.
Feherty thinking, "JC, I just went out and hit the ball, no wonder I couldn't compete with these guys"
These two guys are both huge parts of golf culture in entirely different ways. I could listen to them chat all day.
This one of the classiest individuals in the world. Well spoken, caring man, and giving praise to all of those who fostered his Great Career.
That jacket is about 3 zippers away from Thriller
You forgot the ma fucka lol
Saw this on TV when it first aired. It is even more impressive now, Phil's knowledge of the game of golf and how to hit.

If he does I hope it's a US Open. I'd like to see him finish off his career by getting the career grand slam.
Good call!
Hey what’s the stock market going to do in the next few months?

One of the games characters, his interaction with the fans is second to none....
@12:39 is exactly where my golf game changed forever. Holy smokes! What a graduate course he teaches there.
Love him! ❤️

How can you not love this guy? PhillyMic
Phil is so talented, yet so humble. He loves the game, just as much as he loves winning. He's such a well balanced player.
Phil is the best!
This is my favorite golfer. He's not the best. But just a real good role model I look up to. He has some amazing recovery shots and I love chipping and he's the king at it
Better than most
Charitable, very generous guy and amazing to fans ..a lot could learn from Phil.
Wow his mind is amazing. Could listen to him talk all day and night about golf
Phil is so underrated.
Loved that lefty ❤
Really cool story about his grandfather.
I so enjoy the occasion of someone of celebrity being well grounded and overtly considerate...
Feherty one of the best interviewers ever. Also love him when he is commenting in tournaments
Phil passes my beer test,,,would l like to have a beer with him,,,he would be a blast to hang out with
“As I’m so high off the ground.” Gotta love the man.
Feherty @ 13:45 is all of us.

I see
Great insights
Phil's got some portuguese bro?!? So cool!
He reminds me of an 80s child filmstar eg the goonies, big etc.
That 2010 shot at the Masters still amazes me.
on the straw, thru the trees, over the water and stuck it
The jacket!
Who here after seeing him play hella good in the pga championship
Here after he won the damn thing!
He was hitting long-shaft bombs ten years before Bryson. The greats always inspire each other.
Happy Gilmore inspired Bryson to get jacked and hit the ball farther
Them hellacious seeds son!!
Bryson could not hold Phil’s jock strap.
Exactly why he won a masters!
Phillip the Thrillip
My god, his explanations...that’s why Phil’s the pro I guess
Jonha Hill should play him if they made a film about him
Where is the rest of the interview?
golf genius
take Tiger away and you've got Phil.
Amazing career for a guy that was very unorthodox
Just got more amazing!
Has it ever occurred to anyone that Hugh Grant with a slight voice chance and slightly less English charm, he could play Phil in a biopic someday? Michael J Fox would be another possibility.
Where's the rest?
All the calculations at 13:00 is about the same i do when draining the lizzard to avoid getting the floor wet 😉
When he talks fade or draw I have to remember he's a lefty or I'm completely confused.

The PGA Tour also owes Tim Kite a thank you. Golf's first millionaire.
why?
6 majors now........and counting......
I never knew that Phil was an actual metal head....
He played Golf with Scott Peterson.
No. He played golf with Peterson in his younger years I think in high school

Phil, with the golfers pale white forehead lol. You can always tell a golfer from the white forehead
wet ball is less spin tho...
just not correct at all
that's like saying you're more likely to slip on a dry floor than wet
Oily.
Big fan of Phil but asserting that his ball was nudged in the hole in 2004 by a ghost? Phil, I thought you championed science, skepticism and critical thinking.
Lefty, the gambler. There's no way in hell, even if I could play as well as Tiger, that I would gamble with that man on a golf course.
The worst thing you could hear on a golf course, Lefty saying "Press"
Cant get past the jacket.
What is it that I dont like about Phil ?
so you've decided to just copy golf content from years ago and start your own channel?
Whadda I think?
