Watching these two rivals over the years *was* golf. Back in the day, when these two played, no one existed. And the rare times they were paired on the final group of the final round.. it didn't matter how much money was at stake. If it was for a green jacket or not. It was the 2 best players in the world, that happened to be the most competitive players, literally fighting to end up on top.
In an age of "Oh your all winners" its awesome to see these guys want to win and have fun doing it. They know how it feels to lose and they do not like it. That is the true fact of sports.
I honestly don’t think tiger really cared about the competition. He was probably just laying on some money for the charities and honestly just having fun with a close friend of his. Him and Phil are OG’s.
No Tiger is as competitive as they come. He cares he just didn’t play that great. I think that tour championship and full season of tournaments for the first time in 5 years really drained him. I’m glad he’s got the masters under his belt and I believe he’ll win several more tournaments this season.

Phil just won the PGA over the weekend. So good to have him back. Golf is more enjoyable when he’s winning. Now I pray that Tiger beats the odds and gets back on the course again. I would hate for him not to go out his way.
To be fair best chance for both of them at any major followed by the open for both in my opinion. Im not sure if we will ever see these two win another us open tbh. Pga feasible but the us open is too hard for a 40+ year old to win with the way they set the courses up now . . . But then again its far from impossible

I imagine they both went through periods of hating the other's good game, but ending up appreciating being pushed to another level. I agree, it is too bad, but golf is only a team sport a fraction of the time. It greatly benefited Tiger to have a rival, I think.

Who just won the PGA Championship at 50 and who is a train wreck that recently could have killed someone by his reckless driving?? Between the two Phil is the one who conducts himself like a true champion. Being a champion in any sport is not just about how many games, matches or tournaments you win.....
I love both Phil and Tiger. Both great golfers and excellent people. But I did notice how much fitter Tiger looks compared to Phil. That shows the Gym work Tiger did early that ended up hurting him.
Competition at its FINEST!!! 2 guys that the millennial crowd THOUGHT were done. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! BOTH can scorch a course and make shots that leave you talking to yourself. AND a little money doesn't hurt either. LOVE IT!!

As in I thought there relationship was rock bottom animosity, at a point where an interview like this was not possible. Not sure why I thought that. Heard it somewhere. How wrong I was.
