Sounds like nothing has changed Steve. We started boating in 1976 and from 1980 onwards we started to encounter this. Had quite a few run ins with them, we had 60' narrowboat for 35 years until 2015, even had a fisherman running along the embankment in his waders shouting abuse at us trying to tell us he was was reporting us, never did understand what we supposed to have done. We could write a book, most of them are fine. In the end when a fisherman started waving and shouting I would raise my wrist and tell them the time, as I could never understand what they were saying, Stay calm and smile Steve.
And I guess its only going to get worse. We’ve resolved not to cruise on Sundays unless necessary from now on but I do feel there should be better communication between fishing clubs and CRT when large fishing events are taking place so boater can be warned via the emails.
@@LifeonboardAmyJo Totally agree there, not seen that number on one hit. they should have a marshall at both ends when there are that sort of number, also CRT should be made aware by Angling societies if a large match is going to be taking place. When we were still boating and working when we only had 2 weeks to get away we could not chance it and lay up for a Sunday, same for hire boats
Loved the vlog especially because we are back cruising together and Steve, how polite you were when telling the story about the abusive fishermen that we both encountered, I wouldn't habe been that calm x
Good see you cranking it with Jan and tony on the cut keep up the vlogs you do and shareing the travels on the UK water ways chris and Jan are just big kids at ❤ thanks lee
Blummin cheek of the fishermen! I do think it’s wrong they can set up over such a long distance, therefore stopping boats from being able to moored 😠 Some great angles you’ve shot Steve - that camera has really added to the vlogs. Glad to see Chris and Jan are as loopy as ever 😂😂🥰
I like the 360 degree selfie stick! Does it record the full view all the time and you just choose the view to use in the vlog? I've always wondered how they work, having seen them on those "Walks" programmes on BBC4.
Hi John The camera has two lenses and records a full 360degree view. It has some Editing software where I can clip and select the view I want. You can save a 360 view video but I can’t include that in the vlog editor
As you say the water is for everyone to share. However, if the fishermen were boats moored you wouldn't have had a choice where to pull in to moor. You could have asked when they were finishing possibly and waited or just carried on to the holiday park or marina. There is never a reason to be rude though, I've been a boat owner and am an angler so I can see both sides.
The fishermen were fishing all the way along to the marina so mooring at the caravan park would still have had the same effect. The marina could not take us without a prior booking so that was not an option either. We felt best to stop as soon as we could so we did not disturb all the fishermen
Another awesome vlog! Yay! Back together again with The Boat. Was that a bee 🐝 tormenting Smudge? Ugh, fishermen…. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.

Aww thank you Jan. Its lovely having you and Tony back with us. We did miss you both ❤️
Who knew Olympic tryouts would be included at the end of the video?? Way to go !
😂
Oo wish I’d thought that. i could have added the music and commentary 😂
Crikey that was a big fishing competition. Bit unreasonable to take all the mooring spaces. Once again you seemed to have kept your cool 😀
Well I did vent my anger eventually but it would not have been good video 😊
Thank you guys. Another relaxing cruise, except for the tricky anglers.
Our pleasure!

Good to see you again Matey
Nice Xx
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks Lesley. They are suppose to notify CRT so a notice is send out to boater but this time they didn’t

@@LifeonboardAmyJo Interesting, thanks Steve!
160 fisherman chasing the same fish the biggest one 😏 those poor fish trying to avoid the crane hook 🙁
I feel for the fish 😊
Good morning! Disgruntled fishermen, geez. Anyone tell them they can visit their local chippy. No need to catch a fish, already prepared!
I agree Frank. I usually tell them if they don’t like it go fish on a Lake

Its soooo nice cruising with Tony and Jan again and yes we think it was a bee though neither if us saw it
Did I miss something? Didn’t hear any hassle from the fishermen
Thats because the language was too fowl to put in the vlog 😊
