    As a boat owner, it pleases me that you and your partner dream of your own boat and, I must say that owning your own boat is the most fantastic thing you can experience, if you like water of course.
    To be able to go out to sea, find your own island with a calm bay, wonderful.
    If you have a boat where you can spend the night, it will be even better. Sit on the rocks and open the grill in the evening with a cold beer or a glass of wine.
    Wake up in the morning, have a cup of coffee and take in the peace and quiet, it's good for the soul.
    There is the good side, then there is the dark side as well. But I'm not going to write about it right now.

    Stay safe and Greetings from the north of Sweden! 🌲🦌🔥

    I live in Göteborg and just like Stockholm water is never far away here. When the weather allows i always go swimming by the sea takes me about 20 minutes with bycycle. When driving around at the bigger roads you don't always realize how many small lakes there actaully are. However when you fly over Sweden you get to see it's never far to any lake small or bigger. When growing up my parents had this small boat that we always went out in the archipelago to some smaller island. I've lived almost my entire life in/around Göteborg and i love the smell of Algiers and Seaweed! A feeling of home so beeing close the sea definetely makes me happy.

    I'm Swedish and lived in Stockholm for a few years, however being a northener I wasn't too fond of the city life, even if Stockholm isn't THAT big. You should try heading up north for a summer vacation. Where I live (Skellefteå area) the time around Midsommar is so beautiful. The sun never really sets for a few weeks and there's so much You can do. But one thing that's very different to me is the mentality. Everything is just a bit slower here..and I love it. And I also love the seasons. I don't care that winter sometimes is really cold and tons of snow - It's part of life in Sweden. (Especially the north). Glad to hear that You like it here. :)

    Yet another lovely, happy video! Thank you so much for this. I have had the honor of working in Sweden via business trips and met wonderful people. What makes me happy in Sweden (besides my dear friend of 25+ years) are candles, greenery and the water. I like the politeness which people from other countries often think of as coldness. July is a rough month for me for sentimental reasons so this video really brought a smile to my face. Must say I love Germany too (especially Rottweil and Hinterzarten). Is that a photo of you and your partner in the beginning of the video? Beautiful photo!!! Warmest wishes to you from Northern California! PS: I worked/lived many years in Kyoto, Japan and a little bit in London, England so I really understand what you talk about. TSCHUSS :)

    To be alone = If I go into nature for a walk or canoing or to a lake etc etc, there isnt people everywhere. I can just be me and the people with me and my dogs. Also I can hear the birds, see foxes, deer and moose and not be disturbed by the sound of traffic. At the same time not being restricted, if I behave, to walk anywhere I want. This is freedom!

    Schön zu hören dass du in Schweden glücklich bist und dass du deine Träume konkretisieren kannst.

    Regarding boats I'd like to point out that as a consequence of the cold climate that forces people to put their boats on land every winter, and Sweden staying out of WWII, Sweden has more classic wooden boats than any other country in Europe. Which means that while they are very expensive in many countries, they are usually inexpensive here, sometimes classic boat in need of restoration are even given away for free. So Sweden is a great country if you want to own a classic sailing yacht from the 1920s, or a classic "Peterson boat" etc. Beware though, they might be gorgeous, but keeping them gorgeous takes a lot of work. I know, I owned a Mälar-22 (a classic 9 m long and 1,8 m wide sailing yacht designed in 1929, ours was built in 1944) for 18 years.

    Singapore is an island, how would you say it's differwnt from being surrounded by water in Sweden?

    • @LivingSwedish
      @LivingSwedish  Год назад +1

      Very good question! What was surprising to me, when I lived there, was that no one swims in the sea (or very rarely) because Singapore has ships all around the island, like a harbour everywhere. That's why no one goes swimming in the ocean. But there are, of course, many pools you can hang out at. So it's actually very different to Sweden.

    I think also one of the best things about living in Sweden is that it's a passive country, I mean it's not polarized by politics. Paris is now experiencing a huge protest and social confusion, this never happens in Sweden.

    Hallo
    Warum bist du nach Schweden gezogen? War das wegen Corona-Stress?

    • @LivingSwedish
      @LivingSwedish  Год назад +1

      Nein. Wir wollten von England wegziehen, im Allgemeinen und wegen Brexit, und haben in verschiedenen Ländern gesucht. Also, mein Partner hat nach Jobs in anderen Ländern gesucht, da ich unabhängig arbeiten konnte. Es war ein Zufall, dass es einen attraktiven Job in Schweden gab und wir auch schon Freunde hier hatten. Zwei der Gründe, warum wir nach Schweden gezogen sind 😊
