A couple of things to note: 1. The reason why the plastic is tight is because they are new. After quite a few transformations it'll be easier. Just the like the G1 toys at first. 2. "Red Alert the Pacifist" is actually First Aid. Remember, Red Alert was the "paranoid" Security Directory in the form of a Fire Chief's Lamborghini. 3. You are correct, Blades, the helicopter, is the right arm not First Aid, the Ambulance, and you would want to extend their bodies to make the arms longer.
Aaahhh... the nostalgia. My very first Transformers set. Was wondering why the firetruck was so strangely blue on the wiki and basically everywhere else that talks about the Defensor and was searching for different releases and color palettes. Found this video trying to find any info on the pile of broken plastic in the form of a giant red bot I found in an old cardboard box. Figured since it's vehicles that transform into robots it could be Transformers stuff (didn't know of the cartoons and Transformers brand in general back then, it was just some toy vehicles that turn into robots for me. Yes I lived under a rock and parents used to gift me toys without the packaging). Eventually found out it's a Defensor giftset, now I know it's a knockoff. Quite the good knockoff tho
oooohhhhhh man im laotian and I went to Laos New Year a couple years ago and picked these guys up for 5 bucks! and they held together pretty well for knock offs. I may have lost them, but I liked them when I had them!
When I first saw the thumbnail for this review it looked like my KO Defensor, yours is much truer to the G1, on mine, First Aid and Groove are specifically designed to be legs and the others for arms and aren't interchangable, yes, mine has LSD, Lack of Scrambling Disorder, aka, Predaking's Disease, they removed all the trademarked decals, Groove's front end doesn't rotate around, Groove's foot is one solid block, and there's more red, a few more flaws but I'm running out of characters
If you have Streetwise you should know that his hood pegs into his hands ,and so it does on the knock-off. So ofcourse the arms don't extend. Else nice review.
Just got one, they were showing a much different one I thought it was a knock off of the newer G1 I saw pictures of. Nope was the original G1. Not a bad figure, but I feel like it's gonna break in a matter of minutes.
I have one, but it is smaller and can't transform, though separating is possible (think about ROTF Devastator). Got it in a 7 eleven in Taiwan Despite these facts, I love this figure a lot.
I had the original G1 set when I was a kid and I remember they were very expensive back then (~20€ each limb and ~35€ for Hot Spot), but this set, for 20€ on Ebay, is very good compared with the originals with only minor differences! Hot Spot color is the only biggest difference! I plan on getting them although I, just like you, no longer care that much about most G1 figures, mostly because they are simple figures with simple, uninteresting transformations... specially when compared with nowadays 3rd party transformers
well dunner studios you can use nail polish or sandpaper, with sandpaper you have to shave off a little plastic and nail polish it will loosen up a little
I've been looking at your reviews, i brought this myself a year or two back, as well as devastator, and Bruticus, Was never an aerial bot fan but i'm glad i didn't buy KO version as it was shit in your review. I had 4/5 Protector bots as a kid, and i wish i had the foresight not to mangle give away and destroy these wonders the only one my mother and i could never locate was the helicopter pissed me off so much, But the KO is very similar besides colours. I dislike the head though.
What the hell? It's a knock off, why on earth would I want to mail you 100 dollars to fix a price of junk that's worth nothing? Go steal someone else's money!
I don't like how Groove and Hot Spot are both red, now when I was younger and when I first saw Hot Spot, I questioned why he had a color choice of blue. But over the years the color blue for Hot Spot seemed normal to me and seeing red seems "weird".
You mean Groove has the red seat. This makes me think that these are Generation 2 Protectobots, which never happened(unlike The Arielbots and The Combaticons).
i got the same knock offs at big lots for my kid just this christmas we just had he loves them but i dont they are total bricks compared to the real deal which is funny i guess they dont use the same mold

I HAD THIS!!!! I Loved this for some reason, and it will always be a childhood toy.
ive got that same knockoff
it's quality is actually considerably better than a few g1 toys i have.
you'd never tell the diference other than the color
I had this. Didn’t know what it was as a kid
oooohhhhhh man im laotian and I went to Laos New Year a couple years ago and picked these guys up for 5 bucks! and they held together pretty well for knock offs. I may have lost them, but I liked them when I had them!
I got one of these for my birthday when I was younger. Hotspot's arm broke off after I started playing with him. I havent bought a KO since.
10 years old... Gosh, I feel really old yourself honestly!
oh my

well dunner studios, with KO street wise you have to use a little of nail polish or use a sandpaper to shave 2 or a little plastic off
Gotta love the 'Emergegy' sigh on First Aid.

i had the ambulance knock off as a kid!
I bought some gestalt knockoffs at Big Lots years ago, but the leaders weren't among the set.
What happened in SIXTEEN EIGHTY EIGHT dude? Ooh! Is it all about the glorious revolution? XD
Thews
I had these guys:) they were cool my brother sadly broke them tho
The 2 vehicles making the arms are just for the look.
Hotspot's arms are already big enough.
I have one, but it is smaller and can't transform, though separating is possible (think about ROTF Devastator). Got it in a 7 eleven in Taiwan

How did they Compared to the Craptastic KO Aerialbots?

look cool wish i could get my hand on 1..
ur title?
defensore?
i would call street wise "safety first"
Do you recommend this set? Yes, I'm 13 and like g1 transformers but can't afford the originals.
Autobot Gamer I'd recommend getting the Combiner Wars Defensor then. DO NOT get a KO!!!
@@TheGenuineDWNUT well i think you coild get SOME ko transformers.i have my weijiang oversized transformers and they are better than the originals.
who is your favorite
0:25 That's Groove.
wow your ko Defensor is of much better quality then mine
I got this toy years ago from walgreens
bought this guy twice once at a famly dollar then again at a swap meet and for what you pay for him he's not that bad
Did this include their guns
I own it it is okay and good replacement for the original it is okay awsome.
Been to Mr. Thew as well? :3
wlagreens 2 years ago sold devastator, defensor, and superion for only 5 bucks
too bad the protectobots did not come with the Ramp gimmick for Mertoplex, individual weapons , but they did include the Base mode for Hot spot .
Ladder support system FTW
Baltmatrix added the original stickers didn't he
Rock on my good friend! XD \m/

I have a ko streetwise, and his legs are stuck, what do I do
Dunner Studios mail it to me along with 100 dollars and I fix it for you....
What the hell? It's a knock off, why on earth would I want to mail you 100 dollars to fix a price of junk that's worth nothing? Go steal someone else's money!
Dunner Studios lol lol just wanted to help out 😂
It's okay, I'm looking for a real one anyway 😕
Dunner Studios I do my window shopping at transfomersland.com seen some good deals thier
If only this was a G2 Defensor
I don't like how Groove and Hot Spot are both red, now when I was younger and when I first saw Hot Spot, I questioned why he had a color choice of blue. But over the years the color blue for Hot Spot seemed normal to me and seeing red seems "weird".
It looks like guard city from operation combination
You mean Groove has the red seat. This makes me think that these are Generation 2 Protectobots, which never happened(unlike The Arielbots and The Combaticons).
hot spot looks like inferno
Yes but wrong so outferyes
actually a defensor should only cost 50.00 bucks with all hotspot pieces and the other 4 guys to make defensor not 100 way too much for him
i got the same knock offs at big lots for my kid just this christmas we just had he loves them but i dont they are total bricks compared to the real deal which is funny i guess they dont use the same mold
Sold at your local family dollar
He looks pretty close to the g1 character aside from the colors
Hot Shot looks better in red. :)
nock offs
i actually hav those. they are all broken into pieces
don't forget ratchets! XD
By now the plastic on this has disintegrated.
he's like the strange cheap combination of the knock off aerial bots and g-2 constructicons...
split groove's feet
hot spot reminds me of a other robot
I think they're based on the simpified transformation and color scheme of some Kabaya kit.
nope, they are Downsized & simplyfied, lack Sheild/ramp for Hot spot & individual weapons.
I threw these out.
Boo
