ACEI/ARB Use in Proteinuric Chronic Kidney Disease

Dr. Ian McCoy, a Nephrologist from the University of California, in San Francisco, CA, reviews his article published online and appearing in the August 2021 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where he notes many patients who would benefit from use of ACEI/ARB to stave off the need for dialysis, have either not been prescribed these medications or have had their use discontinued. He highlights that discontinuation, rather than never initiating, is limiting ACEI/ARB use in this population.
