It really hit me how much pain you've been through. You've spoken about it before, but hearing you sit there and speak about it with your Mum was heart wrenching! I pray that you never suffer that much again, both for you and your loved ones. Thanks again to you and your beautiful Mum - much love & hugs🤗
Thank you for saying that. It has been a lot to go through. Thank you for watching this, I know it's not my regular videos, but I thought it would be an Interesting talk. God bless
I love your mother. I've watched all the videos. She's a very sweet woman ❤ God bless her. I know this must have impacted her greatly. I hope she never blames herself for your situation. I'm glad you have her support. ❤ this was such a good interview with both of you. Thank you for this interview!
Thank you so much for watching! Last part of the series is coming up today! Please check it out. Thanks again! I really appreciate you watching and thank u for your comment! God bless
Hey there again Sir! Today was a doubleheader for me today. Even though I’ve seen you speak on a couple of these issues previously, this one touched my heart, probably because it was between you and your lovely momma! I’m just so hoping that in the future modern medicine will find a solution to better folks needs with chronic pancreatitis. Mom and yourself are quite amazing and insightful! Hagn Sir, catch ya next time! ✌🏻🌻
Thank you again Joyce! You are so nice. It was good for us to talk about it all together here. I thought it would be eye opening for those who are still on the fence on whether they should stop or not. It really does cause a lot of problems all over. Thank you. Lookout for today's video soon. God bless
Hi LD great interview. Such a supportive sweet mother you have. You really were so sick. You are spreading awareness of alcoholism. Thank you for being so real. Take care 💚
Thank you mona!! You are so awesome! Thank you so much for always coming here and bringing positivity to the channel. You have no idea how much that means to me. Thank you! God bless
You have talked about your medical situation before but hearing you sit with your mom and remember some of the specifics was eye opening. I think this will really help someone.
Wow 😢you have really gone through a lot? How did you get cyst on your pancreas? Is that caused by your drinking? Your Mom seems so strong! So glade you are doing better now, even though you have many more procedures left. You look like your Mom. Your Mom is so smart. Thank you to your Mom & thanks again for your videos. Have a great weekend to you and your mom and your family. 😊
Thank u for all the nice things you said here! That is so kind of you. I'm not sure how the cyst develops, I have had pancreatitis many times though, I would imagine that's why. Thank you so much for watching! God bless
The Morning After is a movie I love and it's on RUclips! Starring Jane Fonda, Jeff Bridges and Raoul Julia. I believe there is a correlation between pain tolerance and alcoholism. My Dad didn't even use novocain at the dentist. He never stayed overnight at the hospital until he got stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He didn't feel pain until then. He lived to be 75. Also..I am so glad that something is being done regarding the treatment of alcoholics in the hospital. It scared me sober to see a little old woman strapped to the bed with tremors. She was whining and crying and nobody could be bothered with her. Her daughter came to visit and was begging her mom to please be good. What happens when someone needs to go to the hospital as an alcoholic? It must be scary knowing you are going to have to detox. It keeps alcoholics from seeking medical treatment. It's sad.
Thank you for the suggestion. I added it to today's video. I really appreciate you bringing that up. First. I'm sorry about your dad. I really am. I can only imagine the pain he went through. The pancreas is the one organ that really causes so much pain when it's not well. It's unbearable. I have never felt anything hurt that bad before, only thing that was as bad was when my spleen was dying. Thank you for being here! God bless
I have a friend who isn't even battling the disease anymore. She says she's ok with dying. Breaks my heart. I am trying to learn about it so I might have 2 ears and no mouth when it comes to being supportive. I have listened to Amber, the counsellor on Put The Shovel Down (check her out if you dont know about her pod) and have grasped a lot of things about her addiction that I had no idea about. If my friend has to die, I don't want her to ever feel abandoned. She has alienated so many friends and now sits home, alone, on her couch losing her bladder and her bowels. Your family has been so incredibly supportive of you - and that probably has saved your life. Ironically, I work on the donor side of organ donation, and know more about that subject than most. I have seen, first hand, the devastation that addiction has caused so many families. The outcome of a battle lost. May God's blessings shower upon you and your family and friends 10-fold. I appreciate the opportunity to hear your story without it being followed by a eulogy.
You certainly have a special mom, to be able to talk and share it all with her, thats a huge gift. Im a mother of 1 son your age, and hope if he ever has a serious issue he would feel he could share it with me. My elderly parents in there late 80s, and i do love them, but they only see things 1 way, so i was never able to really share my nash liver disease with them, only my son , sister and you all, its been a huge help. I feel for you and all the pain you , your mom and wife and family have been through , your stronger then you know. Hang inn there. Keep doing you, and you and your mom and family are in my prayers 🙏 ❤️ 😊👍 . Thanks for all the good info & the good movie tips 👍. Your awesome ✨️.
Just needed to add, the movie suggestion of , in their skin, is positively not for children. I rewatched it, because it's been awhile , and it's not for kids at all. Good scarey movie though.. OK, just wanted to get that word in. GB 💕👍.
Thank you Teresa for everything you said here! I really appreciate you! I hope that you never have to have a talk like that with your son, I really do. Thank you again! God bless
Crazy you said about 90% of patients who are alcoholics do not stop drinking. My PCP and GI told me the EXACT same thing. They COULD NOT BELIEVE I stopped drinking
It's crazy isn't it? I would have thought the exact opposite. It's insane the grip it gets into us. Thanks, man ai appreciate you verifying what i said. That really helps get the point across, especially from another person. God bless.
Three great movies= "Thirteenth warrior" Antonio Banderas "Joe versus the volcano" Tom Hanks "Monty Python and the holy grail" Another great video! For your mother, i know the despair of thinking you might lose your son and also the Joy of what he has become and the help he is offering because of the road he has been on...i have so much respect for you both! There is nothing as pure as using your life to help others! Much love
Thank you for these! I love, love, love the thirteenth warrior. I own that movie on blue ray. I have seen it sooooo many times. I swear to you, I can repeat that movie line by line. It's the movie I used to watch when I was hungover, which was all the time. Thank you for everything! God bless
@liverdisease-qb6rk Thirteenth Warrior became our family favorite! My husband was over stationed down San Diego in the military, back in the day when you could go to the video store, it was our(me and 3 kiddos)fun thing to do. I found that movie and my kids were mid teens son was around 12, anyway we watched that movie 3 times that weekend and watch it now every year! We always say "it's time to watch da fire verm! Haha, we love it!
@cherylleannhuntley5049 how do understand our language???? I listened!!!! I love that part!!! That is so cool!!!! Thank you for sharing that! We have one thing in common for sure! Our family loves it too!!!
We have similar tastes in movie genres; I also enjoy dark genres and movies with harsh subject matter. I second Requiem for a Dream, fav drug use-related movie of all time. Nurse Jacky is a great show about substance use. The Sinner, and again not for the faint at heart, which you mentioned in the previous video, is probably one of my favorite TV shows, and not many people are familiar with that one. If you enjoyed The Sinner, I highly recommend the German TV series Perfume and the British Strangers. Also, I wanted to mention that I have been sharing your videos with a close friend of mine in his 40s who is possibly suffering from type 2 diabetes due to his alcoholism. He has mentioned all the symptoms you mentioned in your video. You are incredibly lucky to have such a strong support network and your mom is amazing!
Thank you! I added these to today's video suggestions. Please keep sharing your suggestions with me. I think we are on tge same level as far as taste in movies. I am going to keep recommending the same kind of films. Thank you for sharing with your friend. I am glad that they watched, maybe they will get Checked now? I hope so. I let it go on for years and never had a check up... not a good idea. Thank you so much!!! God bless
My heart goes out to your beautiful Mom and all the people who love you. I really appreciate her sharing here. Thank you to both. Do you still watch kids movies with your youngest? What is one of his favorite movies? I miss watching kid;s movies with kids. My Kid loved stand by me- your mention of Corey Feldaman reminded me of it ☺ Hope you are having a good weekend!
Thank you Kelly for everything! I really appreciate you continuing to be here supporting this channel. My kids both live goonies. We watch it all the time together. Something about that movie, I guess because it's rainy in the whole movie, everytime it rains, and we can't do anything outside we watch that movie. It's probably my favorite of all time just for that reason. Thank you! God blesz
Hey LD hope you’re having a great day. This was a really great continuation. I really appreciate how transparent you both are in sharing what you’ve gone through and how this trickles down to the family. I’m so glad that you chose life…it’s sad that many aren’t able to crawl out of the dark place. There’s always a reason to continue to fight. We are all here for a purpose and we matter!! Take care and look forward to the next videos. Movie recommendation, Ben is back with Julia Robert’s… it depicts the opioid epidemic .
Thank you! Added to today's suggestions. Thank you for saying that, I know. It really is sad, but it's just so dang addictive. I know.... it took so much for me to finally stop. I knew it was affecting my health, but I didn't do anything about it because I was helpless. Thank you for watching, today's video will be up soon. God bless
You're so blessed with such a sweet and supportive mom. ❤. Another movie about alcoholism and how it affects the family is "When A Man Loves A Woman " with Meg Ryan was a real tear jerker.😢
another great contribution from your mom, to add to the story of your life. that opening question, and your mom's response was emotional, at least from this side of the screen. talking about the prospect of burying your own child can not be an easy conversation to have, and to hear. had me a lump in my throat and some water welling up in my eyes. Thank you David. That means a lot to me that you felt a certain way after watching it. Thanks for watching again! The last part is coming today. Hey, I will have your questions to you today. I have had the worst headache the past 2 days and I really think it's coming from looking at my screen so much. I had to take a break from it yesterday, I couldn't get to the comments yesterday afternoon, I kept trying to get on my screen and my eyes were crossing. I have never had that happen before. I’ve really really enjoyed theses videos with your mom. Kinda binge watched all 3 just now. She’s lovely and was nice to hear not only her experience as mom but also as a med professional. Very informative thanks again for the great content! 😊

Wow... that was some comment. Thank you so much. I really liked the last part about it not being followed by a eulogy. Im so sorry to hear about your friend. She is embarrassed right now im sure. I was there too. I didn't go anywhere for a long time other than work. I was so embarrassed about how bad i had gotten. Wouldn't talk to anybody or anything. I hope that she gets the help she needs soon. I know that she must be so sad right now. Thank yoj so muck for sharing this with me today. God bless

Hey G. That video was raw. Thanks 2 your mom. It's got to be very comforting to know she is there for you. Just a quick question. Once you get pancreatitis and you quit drinking is it true that it's never the same so it won't heal ? Thanks for acknowledging me getting my timberlands that was awesome love you G
Thank you jersey girl! No problem on the shout out! I thought that was really cool that you were able to get something tangible with the money you saved. Yes, once your pancreas is damaged its never the same again. But, you can get it pretty close to normal again if you stop drinking and use a proper diet. It can lead to diabetes too. I think that's why I got it. Thank you! New video coming later on. God bless
Added it to the list for today. Thank you so much! I live that movie too! God bless. Btw... you know that's based on a true story right? They were actually doing that back then. 😊
How you describe the drinker being released from the hosp to get a 6 pack at the nearest gas Sta reminds me of smokers. The Dr says if you don't stop smoking you'll be on breathing tubes in 6 months .. the minute they can, they lite Up a smoke. This is the nature of addiction -- to ANYTHING .. it is not a logical dis - ease by any stretch -- has nothing to do with our polite agreements to stop ...
I don’t understand what went wrong with the surgery? What did not work with it? You got through it-so what were they trying to do that did not work? You have your life, so what else did they want to do- besides save your life?
Hi LD, I am afraid you won’t see this so I will paste it in your latest video comment section s well--but can you please tell me what coffee maker you use and do you order your coffee beans and they’re sent to you weekly? I have a friend who does that and she gets delicious beans. She grinds them herself and gets new ones every week please let me know. OK? I used to love coffee and haven’t had good coffee iin years and I now really want to drink it for the sake of my liver, but also for the sake of BEING ALERT!! lol THANK YOU for replying-cause I know you are real busy….. yours truly, Kara..

another great contribution from your mom, to add to the story of your life. that opening question, and your mom's response was emotional, at least from this side of the screen. talking about the prospect of burying your own child can not be an easy conversation to have, and to hear. had me a lump in my throat and some water welling up in my eyes.

Yes, once your pancreas is damaged its never the same again. But, you can get it pretty close to normal again if you stop drinking and use a proper diet. It can lead to diabetes too. I think that's why I got it. Thank you! New video coming later on. God bless
"Men Who Stare At Goats" is another really weird one, and hilarious
Added it to the list for today. Thank you so much! I live that movie too! God bless. Btw... you know that's based on a true story right? They were actually doing that back then. 😊
@@liverdisease-qb6rk Oh yes.... I'm sadly aware of that world.
@chickensdontsurf really? You were in the military right? Did you have anything to do with that???? I would be so interested.
@@liverdisease-qb6rk Not exactly, I'll pm you on FB later today, you'll end up laughing, I swear, lol
What are the best movies regarding alcohol use/ abuse? I liked Leaving Las Vegas.
I loved Clean And Sober with Michael Keaton!
When a man loves a woman…oldie but goodie.
All the ones suggested here are my favorites. Especially leaving Las Vegas. Thank you. God blesz
I prefer albums and video games to movies.
I wonder what made the cysts grow??
I don’t understand what went wrong with the surgery?
What did not work with it?
You got through it-so what were they trying to do that did not work? You have your life, so what else did they want to do- besides save your life?
Health care workers seem numb and noncommunicative and seem not to care unless you are in triage
Not all. But some. It's really unfortunate. Especially when you are so sick that you might lose your life. Thank you! God bless
OK? I used to love coffee and haven’t had good coffee iin years and I now really want to drink it for the sake of my liver, but also for the sake of BEING ALERT!! lol
THANK YOU for replying-cause I know you are real busy….. yours truly, Kara..
It's weird with all your problems, you look like you're in your early 30s....not your 40s
