Concerning the recent release of Melanie Gibb's interview with Chandler police, did anyone but me hear her disparage Tylee by making a point of telling the police about her "love of fast food and eating"? The tone of utter contempt she had while saying this sent shivers down my spine and made me nauseous. This is a grown, "Christian" woman taking obvious delight in putting down young Tylee. Melanie "Fib" is so much more involved, complicit & responsible for the deaths of Tylee and J.J. May she reap what she has so generously sown.

As an adult survivor of a violent narcissistic mother I think that poor Tylee was in a constant state of fear of being rejected by her mother, who was the one constant in her life. She was likely threatened frequently with being sent to live with her father Joe Ryan, a man she barely knew and of whom Lori had taught her to be afraid and suspicious; Tylee cared deeply for JJ and would have worried for him had she been sent away by Lori. It is possible that Tylee was tortured mentally by this arrogant woman and constantly put down, demeaned and threatened with passive aggressive verbal attacks. The fact that the poor young thing was a tad overweight while Lori was obsessive about her figure and appearance would have led to more bullying by her mother who would have called her names. This poor little girl was pushed and pulled from pillar to post by a completely self interested narcissist with a God complex. The number of times my own mother could have killed me even just accidentally is outrageous and keeping Tylee away from other sensible adults is part of the control package. Throw in some God squad and the poor girl had no chance. Lori Vallow needs to pay for what she did to this poor child her entire life.

Something that always stood out to me is the relationship (or lack there of) between Tylee and Melanie Gibb. Melanie spoke about Tylee in neutral to negative tones, and spoke about how they did not at all have a relationship. What must it had been like for Tylee to have a Mom with friends who were around the house all the time and that looked at her with such coldness.

One of the things that kept running through my mind during Tylee’s interview was that the person I’m sure she was forced to blame would have probably happily given his life to keep her and JJ safe, and the two people she was protecting would go on to murder them just a couple months later. It’s so sad.
Also, I knew the song she was humming sounded familiar but I couldn’t place it. I love Moana. Now whenever I hear that song I’ll think of Tylee.

I think your right @Luv2LuvEm it really is sad that Tylee had no one to protect her, clearly she was that for JJ (as best she could). When Lauren read the lyrics I cried, it pretty much summed up where Tylee’s heart was coming from. I’m so glad you dedicate that song to Tylee, I think that is a great tribute and is also helpful to me, I’m really struggling with my anger for what they did to Tylee. Seems to me if Tylee found comfort in that song when she needed it, I will honor her by doing that, too. Thank you for your kindness.

Mel Gibb testified that at one point when Mel was talking to Lori on the phone! Lori made a comment re Tylee being a dark spirit! & Mel heard Tyler in the background yell! "Not me mom". Also Melanie Palowski said when she visited Lori before she too moved to Rexburg that Lori had the kids room all made up with their things like a lovong parent would. I had understood in the very beginning of the coverage of this case, that Tylee had applied for Emancipation pre-18 years old. If someone can find the documents of application and the people involved, we might discover why? If this is confirmed, Lori may have been fighting this too. If Tylee had become emancipated, she would be free to leave with the money from her father’s social security. I think there’s a key to Lori’s additional motives and competency to be able to plan all of this… thoughts?

  • @robynB424
    @robynB424 3 года назад +62

Tylee had an additional target on her back when she witnessed Charles murder, I’m sure Lori and Chad were looking to tie up lose ends, add in the fact Chad didn’t want any outside influences or to raise another mans child or to share Lori. It’s disgusting psychopathic behavior and I’m heartbroken for Tylee, Charles, JJ and Tammy, individually they were worth 10,000 times more than Chad or Lori, combined and we are all less for the loss. I’m major pissed and after listening to Adam cox describe his sister I’m more prone to think Lori is faking to avoid the consequences and if she did have a psychotic break...tough. Force the meds and let her answer for her actions. This is harsh but I’m serious as a heartbeat. RIP sassy, beautiful Tylee, I’m sure you are caring for your brother in heaven...and I know your dad and Charles are there to give you the love you couldn’t get here on earth.

You can never be harsh enough about Chorihor! It's especially awful considering they had an easy out if they just wanted no child responsibilities: give JJ to Kay & send Tylee with him to help out. You're right though that Tylee had witnessed too much. Plus Lori wanted to steal the Social Security survivor benefits Tylee got after Joe's "natural" 🙄 death.

    • @robynB424
      @robynB424 3 года назад +9

@@OGMsVixen I wonder if she didn’t kill JJ to punish Kay, Larry and Charles for thwarting the big payout she was expecting. Kay wanted JJ she could simply have given him to her, yet she chose murder? That’s some serious evil. I had to look up korihor or Chorihor because I’m not LDS but I do recall Lori having a meltdown when MG called her that in the recorded phone conversation. Wonder if MG thinks of herself as some sort of Alma? This all seems so ridiculous to me, it’s like dungeons and dragons for the offshoot Mormons. And before anyone reads this and takes offense, I’m not dissing the Mormons or LDS faith, I’m dissing these crazy cult followers who’ve twisted these stories beyond anything recognizable for their own self interest. Dangerous stuff, for sure. A LOT less fantasy and a bit more critical thinking would have been very helpful.

I'm coming back to rewatch this video as I feel an eerie connection to Tylee ...that could have been me. I have recently been struck bu the fact that I am living the freedom she needed and was so close to. I grew up with a woman (mother) a lot like Lori. I felt that exact depression and despair at feeling like the never good enough daughter. My mother also believed she was destined for the 144,000. We were not mormon, but I grew up in a very small end of days cult (under 50 people living in a home together). I have so much lasting trauma from believing I was going to be left behind because of the way my mother talked to me about it. The way she warped and abused scripture to control and oppress me. But I got out. I got free. I got my happy Moana ending

She can hear her mother being interviewed while she is sitting there. I tried the other night to watch both interviews to time Tylee’s reactions & expressions to things Lori was saying.
If you watch Lori’s interview you can hear the point at which Tylee begins her interview, Lori sits very still and quiet while listening to what Tylee is saying to the interviewer.
At one point, they both sit cross legged in the chair the exact same way! I saw mimicking traits by Tylee of Lori, which is not uncommon.
There difference here is, Tylee was dependent totally upon what her mother “ needed her to be”. It appears to me she stuck beside her mom like glue, trying to meet her mother’s approval of her. I have seen this a lot with young women/ teenagers, seeking the approval of mom.
I am sure up until the moment she was being killed, she never dreamed her mom and Uncle Alex would be the ones to do it!
…. or Chad and Uncle Alex! ( which I am still waiting to see the evidence, and details of that day, and I know they are “ innocent until proven guilty by a court of law”, but we all know one thing for sure: Someone, or multiple someone’s killed those babies! ( Yes, Tylee was just fixing to start being a young woman, but was still a child that had little to no experience of life as an adult independent of parental influences.
The saddest part to me is that apparently a mother wanted her children out of the way, so she could live her life independent of her children, and the responsibility that goes along with it! 💔

Feels like we have all gotten caught up in the chatter about the fringe religious aspects or the degradation of all of the followers under Chad n Lori.
Our focus should always be these victims. It’s about Tylee, JJ, Tammy and Charles.
You guys did a wonderful job making Tylee the focus on this video. She was the victim of the worst tragedy of them all.
And Kay’s sentiment at the end is absolutely right. No one, not one adult!, stopped in their tracks at any point to say things were wrong until those children were found and where. I am sure if they didn’t find them in the Daybell’s yard, more of them would still be championing their leaders.

I feel like I’m the only one who finds Tylee’s behavior NOT anxious. On the contrary she seems extremely relaxed before the interview and during - bored almost. Having anxiety myself, I see nothing in her that speaks to the tragedy that happened only hours earlier. I took this possibly as being desensitized to drama after 16 years living with Lori. Otherwise it could mean direct involvement, but I have difficulty believing that. My belief is that Tylee knew Charles was intentionally murdered - but only after the fact - and was coached to lie about it (although she comes across incredibly truthful in the interview and completely calm). I truly believe Tylee was murdered after threatening to tell the truth later on in September. She likely didn’t like what was going on with the religious crap, moving to Rexburg, and possibly even didn’t want her mom to marry Chad. That’s why I believe her murder happened so quickly out of the blue - and then JJ had to follow as he was simply in the way. It’s definitely disturbing watching the video knowing she only has a few months left to live…

She was so close, and you're right--she would have gone on to outshine Lori in all the ways Lori couldn't even comprehend. I wish so badly that Tylee could have crossed that line. I have always wondered how Tylee said, "Not me, mom," when Lori called her a zombie. To know they were yelling and emotions were high, Tylee feeling neglected and ignored by her mom... that's really painful to hear. And then, of course, Lori gives herself the power to turn Tylee into a zombie, and then she is the only one who can "cure" her of that final malady.

As I watch this I can't help but wonder why no one checked up on her to ask if she needed anything like they did with the others. It just seemed like she had to sit alone for such a lengthy period of time. Then I wonder if this was done purposely to watch how she would act when no one was coaching her. I noticed that Lori never really took many photos of Charles and Tylee together like she did with herself and Tylee and Tylee with JJ or with Alex.

There are so many times I want to turn back time and get these young victims to safety, Tylee has a special place in my heart even though I didn't know her. I grew up with in a Borderline family. One of the best books that helped me process what my siblings and I went through was Understanding the Borderline Mother: Helping her children transcend the intense, unpredictable and volitile relationship by Christine Ann Lawson. I have read this book twice then threw it out both times. Which is crazy bc its expensive and i have to keep buying it every time I feel I need to read it again. So my mom didn't commit murder although she is a self proclaimed prepper, I think about myself at this age....and ugh it kills me to see another child going through this. As I listen to Dr John talking about his impressions of Tylee being anxious and depressed....that was me. I thank God that I was able to be away but yhe healing still goes on and I am almost 46.
She doesn't know what to say that won't make her mom get upset with her. If anything she says causes her mom to switch into witch mode, she knows there will be hell to pay. You do everything you can to not be put in the embarrassing bad kid category.

I can relate. My mother would never let me get heavy. I’m lucky I never developed an eating disorder. I did develop an obsession with exercise though. My mother is a narcissist. My dad was an alcoholic. A funny and fun alcoholic but it wasn’t good for any of us. My mom drank too much to. My friend who took his life 5 years ago lead me to trauma therapy and support groups for 5uicide loss. I stayed in therapy for 4 years. One book he had me read was Codependent No More. I’ve yet to make it through that book. I get pissed and put it away. I see why I do the things that day but it makes me so mad how it developed. My parents are great. Still married. My dad got sober long ago when I was in my 20’s. I’m 53 now. I can’t confront my parents with my anger. It seems wrong but my mother is still a narcissist and can trigger the heck out of me.

There was just such instability in Tylee’s childhood and adolescence. Just the number of times this family moved has my head spinning. I can’t imagine how emotionally damaging it is for a child to not have a safe home base, to always be making new friends and having to say goodbye to others. So many people say that Lori was such a good Mom. But as a mom myself, for me the measure of a good parent is to maintain a healthy, stable, chaos-free home, and to raise up your children to be loving, empathetic, confident and independent. I don’t see a good Mom at all. I see an agent of chaos and the children were just drug through the mess of Lori’s life.

So glad someone finally brought up the question about Tylee's weight. It seems she was always a little bit on the bigger side even in photos from when she was a really young child. I think that was just her body type (in addition to any issues around eating may have been in play that made it worse) & I've always wondered if Lori felt differently about her because of it. If Lori was perpetually disappointed in her no matter the fact that Tylee was a beautiful person inside & out. It is something I have always thought. I have always wondered if Lori was not happy to have had a blonde blue eyed daughter who might compete with her for attention. Everything you guys said about this are things I have been thinking since I started following this case but never wanted to address it because I didn't want it to come off as criticism of Tylee. I'm glad someone did finally address it

When she stops humming she's reliving what she just witnessed in the house and everything else that her mother has put her through between the things with her father and just everything there's so many things that we probably don't even know. And that's why when she saw her brother walk in Colby she broke down the second he walked in the door. I just wish and would hope that Colby doesn't feel guilty that he wasn't able to pick up on what his mother was actually doing and didn't have a way to save at least Tylee. I'm sure he would want to save JJ too and I don't think Tyler would have left JJ even if Colby did try to get her away from her mother. Imagine what this poor girl was going through when her mother and her uncle were literally beating her to death and it was a very slow death and it was also terrible how they literally chopped her up. And like Reverend Donna serafina said that Lori seem to have no problem shopping her daughter up where Alex had no problem with the act itself he was just more grossed out by the blood and the guts and the gore of it but not because it was his niece. And that was why they didn't dismember JJ as they did Tylee. This little girl protected her mother so much and even if she did threaten to say something it was probably just teenage bicker with her mother and her mother just didn't see it that way and turned on her. But Tyler would have backed her mother 1,000% I believe not because she was evil kind of like how it was with Leticia Stauch and her daughter Harley Hunt. I think that if Harley would have said things like that to Leticia that Leticia would have turned around and did the same thing to her daughter

I feel so bad for tylee, jj too but tylee had to know something bad was coming, she knew mom was calling her a zombie and just killed her step dad, she was probably so stressed and imagine what she must of been thinking when alex or Alex were killing her. Isn’t it speculated that tylee was shot though? Because of chad saying he shot a raccoon around when tylee was murdered and neighbor said they heard the shot. I just hope she didn’t know what was happening and didn’t go through any pain

so evil. I live in Boise Idaho and was shocked when we heard the kids were missing then the story started to trickle out. Tylee had 16 years of instability before Charles then Lori wouldn't let him be a Dad. Lori remained in full control of her kids .I see that Charles had a good heart and was the rare gentleman who would provide for his family and see to their needs even when things were very rocky with the wife losing her sanity and plotting to kill him.

Dr. John really helps in his professional perspective.
Many questions I've asked myself, he answers.
I've always known that Tylee's account of what happened in that house, when Charles was murdered, was a lie.

Lori actually took JJ off his meds AND got rid of his dog for his last few weeks alive, just to make it more horrific for him. The personification of evil- although I wouldn't feel right about bringing that up without mentioning that the only thing more cruel and horrific than Lori's behaviour is the police and their handling, or rather their I GNORING of Charles' please for help and ignoring his murder just weeks later, after he TOLD THEM how she had cleaned out his bank account after canceling his flight reservations home, then hiding the truck he'd left at the airport forcing him to somehow get a cab home with no money, then changed the locks on him forcing him to hire a locksmith- ALL of which he had told them about prior to telling them about her threats to MURDER HIM- and then upon finding him murdered BY LORI'S BROTHER just weeks later they didn't even have the interest they would give picking out a donut with thier morning coffee..So maybe next time you are told a spouse has gone nuts & is threatening murder, howz' about maybe.... oh, gee, I dunno...when they show up murdered weeks later by THAT SPOUSES BROTHER, you TAKE HIM IN AND ACTUALLY INTERRIGATE HIM- and maybe ACTUALLY take in that spouse for that 72 hour hold, EVEN IF they giggle cute and tell you they take care of their kids? 😉💕

Maybe Dr John will answer and give better insight but I believe my mom and stepmother were jealous of me as a teen. I didn't realize what was happening at the time but thinking back on it now I think they wanted to be able to relive those years and be beautiful, young and carefree again. They weren't happy in their lives and wanted to run around and have fun like I was doing. There's probably more to it in this sad story with Tylee but I think jealousy is fairly common for dysfunctional families.
