      I am, unfortunately, living proof of that. I am going through a terrible financial season right now. And it was entirely of my own doing. Before I fell back into sexual sin, I was always able to make ends meet. Everything always worked out. Now, I am hanging by a thread. I know things will get better, because I have hope. I just need His help to turn it around. And it will get better. I just have to learn that when things seems hopeless, don't run to sin, run to Him!

    I used to be a slave to pornography, which started at 14 years old. I am now 46 years old. I've been free from pornography for a little over a year. I know it had to be God that delivered me from that slavery. Now lustful thoughts and images and even intrusive thoughts still haunt my mind, even in my dreams. I also have wandering eyes, which I disabled my Facebook from my phone so I won't have any temptations scrolling thru my news feed because of how bad social media has gotten.
    I just want total freedom from any type of sexual impurities. I just want Christ to be my Supreme Treasure, and not rely on myself, or my own works, but Him alone.

      Don't forget to take every thought captive. I just very recently fell back into pornography, after going just short of two years, without going on a single porn site. When those images and thoughts start to intrude into your mind, it is time to double down on bible reading, and especially prayer. Prayer is huge. That is what I did wrong. I kept drifting away until the next thing I knew I was on a porn site. Stop feeding your faith on a daily basis, and it will eventually die. Keep hoping and praying and taking those thoughts captive, and you will prevail. Your friend in Jesus, Bill Raab.

    Awesome Testimony! I lived for 60 years believing I was a Christian & going to a Non Denom church from the Anglican Church I heard that I would have changed if I was Born Again. My church never taught these concepts! The realization of not being saved struck my heart with a great fear! I got in my Bible & Prayer & the LORD BY HIS GRACE SAVED me! By complete surrender calling out to my LORD JESUS! 🙏🏼🕊🙌🏼🔥PRAISE GOD! The Hunger for His Word has never stopped & desire for Prayer my Savior by His Grace lives in me!

    I’m 15, this year I have changed. I had an awful addiction last year, but I have put my chains in Christ. There are drastic differences from this year and the last. I give God all the glory for that. I thank him so much. I still sin, but I am actually guilty now, and I don’t do it as often. The holy spiritual is working in me because I finally allowed him too. Praise Jesus.

Not because we earn it, but because of His love and His mercy. But He asks us to believe, to just accept it. But we must repent of our old way of living. I highly recommend to watch the documentary. Your explanation of how porn works in me is sooooo accurate.
    And lately, having found God again, I am starting to find that porn just isn't as interesting as it used to be. I'm starting, by the grace of God, to realise that it just doesn't satisfy..
    But I'm still stuck - moving, but stuck..
    My situation is complicated but my self hatred as a result of childhood emotional abuse / neglect - deep loneliness, self hatred and contempt means I turn to porn and food for comfort..
    I say this so that if somebody by chance reads this, you'll know that you're not alone and that if God can work in me, He can work in you too

    I was addicted to pornography for 10 years. Couldn't go a day without watching it. No matter how many times I tried I couldnt get myself to stop. It became so bad that I was struggling to have sex with women because my desires were too strong for normal sex. I asked god to remove my desire to watch it, and I haven't watched porn or even masturbated in over a month. My desire to watch it is completely gone and it's definitely an answered prayer. Incredibly grateful to be away from that part of my life.

God ended it for me in a way I didn’t expect. He took away my access to it and distracted me with other things. Before I even noticed it I was already out. One thing to remember, as the video emphasizes, is that Christ is the greatest need. The result of trusting in Christ and walking with him is purity in one's life. However, if purity is the only focus, then no one can achieve victory on their own. But Jesus Christ has come to not only forgive us of our sins but to also give us power over sin (Romans 6).

I could go on without masturbation for 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 1 month, 2 months and so on, but at the end I fail miserably. The most heart breaking moment is when I know that I've broken my vows and promises to God, and have sinned against the holy one. please pray for me too...❤

I was a happy kid always go outside and im extrovert before , but when im addicted to porn it makes me introvert that always hiding in my room cuz of anxiety and afraid to socializing. But im glad that ive found a nofap videos now im almost 1 month of being free of porn after 9 years. Porn is really bad guys it makes my life a hell before.

Don't focus on complete deliverance...focus on Christ daily and you will be changed as you walk with him (2 Cor. 3:18). As is mentioned in this later video (illbehonest.com/dont-pursue-freedom-from-pornography-pursue-christ-james-jennings) we must not pursue purity as our focus but Christ!

Watch the video , how to abide in Christ by Paul Washer. And after that I would recommend his 'shocking' youth sermon. I wish I had heard a pastor give the word of God with such honesty and sincerity when I was a younger man. John Piper and Voddie Baucham are two other men of God I would recommend too. It is a reasonable question to ask, from his perspective. He isn't merely talking about 'one sin', as though he lied and therefore wasn't saved. He describes his life as one of habitual lying, lazy self indulgence, idol worship, and slavery to sexual perversion. I have a similar testimony.
      Although I cannot possible note at what point my soul was redeemed, I have no fruitful evidence of my conversion until age 19, when I stopped "practicing my sin", and this despite confession Christ as a young lad.
      For all of us who have fallen in this area, a good question is, "how do I know I am forgiven, that I am saved?"
      John would say, those who are born of Him do not practice sin, and whoever hopes in Him purifies himself, as He is pure.
      Peter would say, add to your faith self control, and make every effort to confirm your salvation.
      Fruit is not the guarantee of salvation, but it is evidence of it.

Una de las cosas más grandes, más engañosas acerca del pecado es la búsqueda del pecado. Si buscas el pecado, hay euforia y excitación, pero una vez que obtienes el pecado, y te satisfaces con él, entonces te deja devastado y vacío.

    You are correct on some things but you are wrong on some things. Romans chapter 7 was not written by a sinner and Paul was not describing his past. Nowhere does it say that Paul is talking about his past. He struggled with the flesh just like we did perhaps more. Romans 10:9 says if Thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead you shall be saved. Romans 10:13 says for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. He says we have an advocate with the father when we sin why because we all sin. Some have sins that are more obvious than others some have some that are more persistent than others just because you get saved does not mean that every bad habit or thing that you did wrong will automatically be gone from you. There are consequences for sin. Some of which are addiction and God does not always take that away from you when you get saved. That's why he says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If you believe that Jesus is the Christ the son of God that he died on the cross for your sins and that God raised him from the dead and you ask Jesus to save you you have God's promise that he will save you Romans 10:13. You also can go to First John chapter 5 where God says whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. It is not your goodness that will get you to heaven and it is not your Badness that will get you to hell. Believing in Jesus Christ and accepting him as your savior is what gets you to heaven you're getting to Heaven because he paid for your sins you believe he is who he says he is and you've asked him to save you that is all you can do. You may struggle with some things your entire life. Life is like that it's not everything Rose is once you get saved. Let me iterate this again you may never complete to get out of everything that you've had a problem with for your life if you've done it for years God doesn't always take those away from you there's consequences for sins and sometimes that is addiction and it's a struggle because you have fed this sin for so long you are still in the flesh physically you're supposed to walk in the spirit but we don't always do that but that doesn't mean you're saved. You are trusting Jesus as your savior to get you to heaven.

    Una de las cosas más grandes, más engañosas acerca del pecado es la búsqueda del pecado. Si buscas el pecado, hay euforia y excitación, pero una vez que obtienes el pecado, y te satisfaces con él, entonces te deja devastado y vacío.

    1 John 5:12-13 KJV
    He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

    I’m glad to hear that you are free from this sin. However I would disagree with the part about if you are still falling into this sin that you should ask yourself if you have the Spirit. That is so dangerous. You should never question your salvation based on how good or bad you are doing. If you do that you’re taking your eyes off Christ and putting them on yourself. Do not do that. Do not question your salvation based on your progress. If you have truly believed the Gospel then you are saved. The Holy Spirit is in you and is working on you. Now your growth is not necessarily automatic. You have to fight the fight of faith. I struggled with porn and masturbation as well and am now overcoming it with God’s help. You need to remember Romans 6:11. You are dead to sin and alive to Christ. The old man who was addicted to this trash is dead. You don’t have to do this sin anymore. You defeat the desires of the old man by walking in the Spirit. You do this the same way you received Christ. Through faith. Not discipline or your own methods. Faith alone. When you are tempted to commit this sin, flee to Christ for help. Ask the Holy Spirit to fight the temptation for you. Don’t fight it yourselves, you will fail. When I asked the Holy Spirit for help and put my full trust in Him to do so, the temptation was dealt with. And I promise you the same thing. Rely solely upon the Holy Spirit to fight your sin for you. The result will be victory and discipline. Do this and do not rely on yourself. Look up freedominthecrossministries on RUclips for more information regarding this. Matt’s channel has helped me immensely with this.

      In regards to, "You should never question your salvation based on how good or bad you are doing. If you do that you’re taking your eyes off Christ and putting them on yourself." I understand where you are coming from with this statement, and yes often the person one is counseling seems to be a true believer who is struggling and the last thing we want them to do is cause them to idolize their performance and get their eyes off Christ (this is dealt with in another video: ruclips.net/video/dZba1uw0oYc/видео.html). When someone counts how long they have been "free," their eyes are in a dangerous place.
      But this is not the only situation or type of person that is encountered in counseling. So we need to be careful not to overreact in either direction...first the direction of wrongly condemning true believers who are struggling, or secondly, wrongly comforting unbelievers who are deceived and slaves to their sin. Obviously this video in itself addresses a broader audience. It is not a specific person who has shared specific information which one then responds to based on what they say.
      But Christ was not shy to say in Luke 6:46 - "Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?" Or James in James 1:22, But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. - Or John in 1 John 2:4 - Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
      We need discernment to speak directly to people and sometimes tell them their "religion is worthless" (James 1:26). But we shouldn't become judgmental, hypercritical people who show no grace to people. If we do that the Lord will pull the rug out from under us and we will fall on our faces and be humbled.
      Lastly, it is difficult at times to know based on what someone shares if they are struggling with sin or a slave of sin. This is dealt with in this video: ruclips.net/video/rkrlPP8s3_o/видео.html

    Where does it say Romans 7 is written from the standpoint of a Pharisee?

    • @illbehonest
      @illbehonest  Год назад +3

      It is referring to one way people interpret Romans 7. There are multiple ways to take the passage and what Paul is saying, it is a hotly debated passage. But to quote someone else: The man described in Romans 7:7-25 is not the typical lost “man on the street,” who knows nothing of the spirituality or real desirability of the law. The man in Romans 7:7-25 is the man to whom “the commandment has come.” He makes statements that the typical unbeliever would never make. The state of misery that he is experiencing eventuates in his coming to Christ: “Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!” From this it is evident that this man is being “taught by God” and is “hearing and learning from the Father.” Everyone who has thus “heard and learned from the Father” comes to Christ.

      @xfactor3135 Год назад +2

      The phrase was "when he was a pharisee". The point he was trying to make is (along with the channel comment above me) is there was no Spirit in it, only a want to get free without the Spirit, to perfectly obey a law, without help from the Lawgiver. That's why the Spirit is scarcely mentioned in that chapter, but then Paul goes on to describe in romans 8 the freedom that is present in the new covenant which has PLENTY of mentions of the Spirit. You need the Spirit to obey.
      Obedience from willpower alone isn't obedience, it's self effort trying to achieve self help, which in the end will likely result in self-righteousness, like the pharisees who strive to keep the law, but never really seek God, and His forgiveness, rather they want to establish their own goodness.

    It's amazing that God has set you free from porn, and praise the Lord for that! But you say you don't believe in salvation by works, yet you also say that if you're addicted to porn you're not saved because you're not doing the right works. Am I missing something here?

    Father God, thank you for leading us into greater truths! I bind to hell every sexual desire for another than one's god-ordained spouse in my life, the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquitances, opponents and the body of Christ while binding one to an healthy sexual desire for one's god-ordained spouse, binding to hell every unequal yoke and common share with those sexually desiring another than one's god-ordained spouse and those lacking an healthy sexual desire for one's god-ordained spouse, in accordance with this word and hebrews 13:4, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah ❤!

    I simply can't agree that falling into temptation says you're going to hell. What did Jesus die for if we have to clean up everything and be some perfectionist about our lives?
    Growth is on His time not our own. Watching porn going to Hell, don't agree.
    Some points in this video were good, but some I just can't agree with. We have no right to say what qualifies for hell.

      In regards to, "falling into temptation says you're going to hell" -- indeed that does NOT indicate one is going to hell. At what point in the video are you saying this is being said? There is a difference between one who is a true believer and truly struggling with sin and one who is deceived and a slave of sin. For further study on that topic see: illbehonest.com/are-you-struggling-against-sin-or-a-slave-of-sin-tim-conway

      @I'll Be Honest You speak of men struggling with porn their whole lives going to hell. I would argue that we don't know the hearts of others regardless of their actions.

    • @yuhboimarcyuh5582
      @yuhboimarcyuh5582 Год назад +2

      @I'll Be Honest And by "struggling" in this case, I mean somebody who continues to watch porn their whole life but is very unhappy with it because it hurts their relationship with God.
      I don't think we have a free ticket to watch porn our whole lives by the way, just wanted to clarify - but I just don't think a cyclical sin is indication of salvation.

      @@yuhboimarcyuh5582 You reminded me of a John Macarthur video where he told the story of a friend who struggled with pornography till his last day and was sad that he would have to face the Lord without having overcome the problem. The way John Macarthur commented on his friend does not suggest he thought his friend was hell-bound.

      @weinam chia Riiiight, it's dependent on what's in that person's heart, which is something man cannot determine. That's why we leave the knowledge of salvation with God. I recall this story as well, appreciate the input!
