The world has become a public theater that displays sin in many forms and its acceptable nowadays. But if your heart truly is set upon principles of virtue, you can be amidst sin without sin entering into you. Refer to 1 John 3:9 "and he cannot sin because he is born of God"

I’d rather have my kid watch a gory episode of the Walking Dead than a tv-pg show where an attractive woman is objectified and intended for “mild lust” by the male watcher. My point is that just “stop watching R movies” is too simple and legalistic in approach and nature. Listen to what the man says in this video.
I needed this. God sent me an amazing woman, and we've decided to abstain until marriage, but I still struggle with pornographic temptation. I was about to slip up and again and I saw this and it prevented my relapse. thank you!!

I stopped going to the gym and public beaches because of our pornographic culture. I don't watch TV and very carefully select which films I watch. Having been addicted to pornography as a young adult, I've found this to be incredibly helpful. I think a lot of Christians are kidding themselves if they think they can't normally participate in a hyper charged sexual pubic sphere without constantly falling into lustful thoughts and feelings. I'm sure it's possible, but I've learned it's better to simply not participate. And over the years of not participating, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Nothing is more important than our walk with Christ, and I encourage all of us to be radical in it.

I was dealing with porn since I was 11 or 12. I couldn't escape it. Jesus saved me from this in his HUGE mercy.

I'll do my best to write you what I believe will give you hope!
First of all. Gospel. Good news about Jesus Christ. If you're not sure if you are in good relation with God remind to yourself gospel. Jesus paid for all your falls and moreover came to free you from all sins (it doesn't happen immediately rather gradually but it has to be that zeal and need to fight, fall and fight again). God loves you when you fall and when you fight and will give you win. Everybody who trusted in Jesus in their sinful condition God promises will be sealed with Holy Spirit! (Ephesian 1:12-13) Holy Spirit lets you fight and win!

Secondly, porn is objectively addictive as drugs, alcohol, gambling etc. Read about it and understand your enemy better. I highly recommend this website. fightthenewdrug.org/ It's not christian but they will give you good portion of informations about why from physical and psychological point of view porn tries to dominate your thinking.
Thirdly, find trusted, brother who is ready to pray with you, ready to be with you when you fall and who is trusted enough so you can tell him everything about your problem.
I find it very important. Bible says "confess your sins to each other. Pray for each other" (Jacob 5:16).
Jesus paid. Keep fighting not alone but with God and with brothers. There's no sin which cannot be forgotten. Sin will not dominate you forever if you're in Christ. Yes there will be struggles and dark days but Jesus is with you always.

Listen. For anyone struggling with porn, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal WHY you're struggling. Often times we Christians just assume "delete everything and read scripture and get accountability and you'll be fine"which is true but that only cuts the leaves and not uproot the trees. I struggled with porn because I was lonely and lost people in my life and I turned to porn to bring me comfort. Yes I an a believer and yes God's grace is enough but we must understand why we struggle so we'll know how to deal with it.

Almost a year with no sex, no porn and no masturbation. You have to have the mental strength to say no to your flesh. Do a whole lot of praying and fasting. I Decided to remain abstinent until marriage.

Wait on the Lord as he changes your heart is not SCRIPTURE. You need to master your sin, period. Sin always crouches at your door, waiting.
I have been mediating on this scripture from James 4: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
Our nearness to God doesn't happen by accident. It is deliberate and it is intentional. I am more susceptible to fall into sin when I am not seeking God's face in prayer and reading his words. Brothers and sisters, we have to cultivate our nearness to God. It is true that often putting a label on sin create an environment that is sin is not addressed. So some of us walk around concealing sins as they day go by. I find it helpful to confess these things to a trusted friend. We will never fight sin when we are isolated or detached from people close to us in the church.

I'm recovering from a 6 year porn addiction that is now finally coming to an end. I've come to realise the way people dress is very triggering, the way men and women behave can trigger these feelings.

I have been 67 days (just over 2 months) without porn and I never realized just how much I subconsciously sexualised women and how much their clothing really helped keep me in the depths of my sin. I'm do ashamed of what I was like and so grateful that God has taken me out of my sin, because there is no way that I could have done it without him.

Hey brother hope this help. Recently listening to a sermon that opened my eyes. Struggling everyday is not the way. You will never overcome your addiction alone. Only Jesus in his perfection can cleanse you and free you from the tyranny of your sin. Instead of battling and fighting sin, instead everytime you feel tempted turn to Jesus and say "I surrender to you Lord. I am a sinner, and I need a savior." The devil loves when we battle sin and think we can overcome. We can't overcome our sin. That's why God sent his only son. We often forget that his freedom comes on this side of the grave too. We think oh once I'm in heaven I will be free but you can expirence that now. It sounds confusing because I'm telling you to stop fighting your sin but I'm saying to surrender to Jesus and stop beatimg your self up about your mistake. You are not a slave to sin when the Son of God will set you free. It sounds obvious but think about it deeper. We tell God I'm trying and trying and trying after we mess up. No amount of your trying will ever overcome sin. Anyways hope this helps. I'm not very good with English so sorry.

Aluminum Movies, struggling all the time is not what you are called to in Jesus. You are called to a life of victory over sin, the flesh and the devil. That comes through submission to God's will (100%). Sin comes down to our own choices to disobey God (not submit to Him). Take God as your accountability partner and realize that you have to tell Him that you have chosen sin over Him one time, twice, three times... Your wife may not see what's going on but God sees it. If you love God more than the sin that's in your life, that is hurting you and your family, you will be ready to suffer if that's what it takes to not give in to a temptation to sin. And you will see God's power at work in your life when you and God are 100% on the same page about sin that you need to say bye-bye to forever. That's having a truly repentant heart. If you think you're going to miss something by turning away from sin, then you will remain in bondage to sin. But if you can look forward and believe in a life of walking with God, living for God and being free from sin, then your faith will save you. I’m in my early 20’s. Luckily I understand the importance of respecting your body and respecting the biological instinct a female figure triggers in men. I’ve tried to point out to teenage girls around me that they are falling into this culture in the way they dress and act. The most common response is: “ I should be able to dress however I want. If men look that’s on them. I’m confident in my body so I can dress this way without feeling shamed by people.” It’s so sad.
Pornography is something that I struggled with since I was 12 years old. I got to a point where it was effecting my everyday negatively . Yes, pray and read your bibles. Be consistent. Let me tell yall though. Smoking weed make it so much worse. I could not be in the mood but once I smoked, I couldn't help myself. Sadly I couldn't stop smoking weed, but I finally gave it up for good and I noticed it's been helping me get through my other bad habits. God is great! I hope this might help someone out there
The struggle is real in my life and If I told you where I was and now where im at, some of you might even declare that I've beaten it. Though I have aggressively cut back due to a lot of prayer and reading my Bible, what keeps me fighting is the realization of how unbelievably nihilistic it was making me and just sucking the joy out of my life. I pray that every other person I hear about, that is fighting it, can beat it and see their true selves again.
As a young woman, I appreciate this video, I struggle with this like I guess you could say, "a guy would" and I don't hear many women talk about it. It's one of my biggest struggles, lust in general not just pornography.
I think lust is only natural and a sign of healthy sexuality. It’s about how you use that super-charged sexual energy. You either use it, or it uses you. I recommend you look into Taoist philosophy/sexology to see how you can harness and re-direct this energy into your intellectual, creative, physical, and spiritual capacities. Porn is a definite no-no though since it messes with your brain.

There is no "redirecting sexual energy", it really sounds silly now that I am thankfully saved from all of that loop hole, sugar coated MESS. God (Jesus) knows the importance of a sexual union between one man and one woman hence why he says it multiple times in the Holy Bible about sexual immorality and infidelity, if you lust in your heart, is still a sin, when you first lose your virginity, the woman bleeds, symbolizing the blood covenant you made with that one person for LIFE(who God intended for marriage and one person alone, blood is also, as we know, extremely important and why also Jesus paid our debt with his own blood and why it is SO powerful) again, he went as far as to say if you even lust with your heart(or moreso in your mind) you have sinned because lust is never fulfilled, once you start, there is no stopping. Yes healthy sexuality is when you and your husband or wife explore that together and only together hence why also the Bible says when you're married the husband owns your body and you own his, as well as you become one once married. Haley P aight no problem, Tao is not a new age religion, or belief. It is an approach to cultivating superior health and longevity. Tao also advises only one partner (wife or husband) for sexual practices. That doesn’t mean you can’t take care of your sexual health and energy without a partner (for example a man can perform prostate massage, testicle massage, kegels, edging, etc.) to maintain his sexual energy and health, otherwise he will develop maladies such as prostate cancer if he’s only retaining his semen without stimulation to his sexual organs (you either use it or lose it). For a woman it’s easier to retain her sexual energy, since she doesn’t have to worry about spilling it through intercourse, masturbation, or wet dreams. The Tao teaches women to minimize their menstruation, and/or regulate their menstrual cycles. If they retain their menstrual blood, it is the same invigorating youthful feeling that males accomplish through retaining their seed.

Take some time to understand well the way you need to approach God. Your obedience to God out of love for God (John 14:15) is the key to your deliverance from any sin that you are bound in (Hebrews 5:9). That is what the grace of God leads you to (Titus 2:11-14).

Our actions or perfection can't save us, that's all on JESUS. But it is true, Romans 6 talks about it, we need to die to ourself - what we want, what our bodies want, what feels good - and when we are dead to sin it has no power over us. Unfortunately, the devil has such a stronghold on men's (& unfortunately increasingly women's) eyes, hearts, minds & souls it's *beyond devastating* ; not only for that person, but for their marriage, family & life. 😟

Hi brother, my experience and testimony: I struggled for years with porn, ever since having internet access at home in the late 90's. It got worse with easily accessible porn sites showing movies ad infinitum. Even after becoming a Christian in the late 00's I still had an problem (say once every month or two). This continued with occasional relapses in the same frequency. I prayed about it to God so many times. Things weren't changing.
So I think God had enough of my relapsing and decided to allow me to see the consequences and allow me to be "sifted". Over 2 years ago now, I experienced a spiritual demonic attack while I lay in bed early one morning, awake but dozing. This sleazy, dirty, demonic creature (it probably represented the spirit of porn) in the spirit screamed at me, attacked me and bit me on the hand. I actually woke up with two physical red bite marks on my hand! A couple of days later my home was broken into and I lost $7k worth of stuff. Since then the fear of God and the HEAVY conviction by the Holy Spirit has caused me to never seek out that stuff again. So it was not by my efforts, or by my will power, but by His spirit that the addiction came to an end. It's been 2+ years free now.
I finally understand what a grace of God it was that my parents sought to protect my siblings and I from unwholesome content (sexual and otherwise). I had no idea that what is tame and expected in our culture is the root of access of the enemy into our hearts and minds. He makes a place in the heart of man one "small" step at a time, and oh Lord, has that been the case in my life. Thank you, Voddie Baucham, for this incredible, godly wisdom! God bless all of you, and I pray that we walk in wisdom and discernment, not as those blinded by the ways of this world and the deceit of the enemy. This is a testimony. I was sitting in the lobby with my mother and a young lady was dressed in a pornographic manner. My mother had no problem pointing this out. Pastor, when spoken on being desensitized is something she wants me to be broken out of.

Indeed, I suffered from porn and even to this day, I still have the thoughts in my mind. But day-by-day I'm drawn closer to God's goodness and His mercy. Christ's blood has covered the very sin that has consumed me for so long. Whilst culture will tell us its no big deal, pornography is in fact very detrimental.

Man! This was HUGE!!! To look at their dignity as a child of God created in His image and not have a problem with seeing them in pornography...that is a real change within! Now it should sicken a person striving to be Christian when they see someone lowering their value because they don't have that dignity embedded within themselves. This was strong!

Is this something that you personally have experienced, or someone you know who could have experienced this? Or is it something you feel or how someone else feels that come from their own feelings of them self, or how someone will view them if they say anything about it? I realize most people feel the shame and or guilt with the struggle. We do not need to spread our struggles to just anyone nor those who are not qualified and or experienced to help us in the areas of our struggles nor those who struggle with the struggle themselves at all. It is important to find someone other than our spouse to share and feel safe sharing our situations and feelings with. I understand what you are saying and I hope that we all break of our fear in any areas and run to help when we need it and keep those people close.

I too, in a person to person way do not have anyone either. If someone is really needing help, if they really want it bad enough, they will find a way. In this case I would and have and am still searching and waiting on God to bring that person/s. I would find someone online in your area for support if it is this struggle and I would recommend covenant eyes and signing up with their program for accountability software and talking to someone there to help personally with my struggle. I also like Doug Weiss, he has a couple good RUclips videos such as men and temptation. He has a program and resources online at his website too. I understand completely what you feel like and it does feel very lonely in those areas where we need not just want but need those other brothers and sisters to help us in the darkness.

With Gods help I have overcome my addiction alone, with no one other than God beside me. it was a long, hard, lonely journey. I reached out to my brothers and sisters in the church and was called many nasty things by people i knew for almost 20 years. now i help others with their addictions much to many church members displeasure.

Satan must have thought "this is my greatest secret weapon" since some few years back people would struggle secretly with pornography and masturbation because of the shame and guilt it produces. But today I am encouraged to start seeing people fighting this battle openly and unitedly. Its about time we fight against this sin together and put away the traditional thoughts of people who doesn't watch pornography and masturbate must be pure and better which makes us feel shameful and hide away. Let us be more open about this topic because lust comes from the thoughts that no one knows (except God) unless we express it out and we are mostly tempted when we are alone. So, I pray and believe that if we stand with each other we can help one another to fight and win this battle to extend the Kingdom of God!

Out of all the video or commentary I have ever heard pertaining to the subject of pornography and lust this is by far one of the best explanations. I love that rather than trying to convince you that your defected or put a burden upon you that you feel you might not be able to bare the speaker challenges you to go straight to the source of the temptation and address the heart of the matter. I love his approach of rather having a self drivin perspective to change yourself instead by acknowledging that your degrading your fellow man and objectifying them to fit your selfish sinful desires your able to deal with the heart. All I know is that a hard line must be drawn when dealing with sexual sin. There is no such thing as struggle. There is either committing sin or obedience to God's word. And even if you don't watch pornography remember that our greatest works are as filthy rags in the eyes of God. So the only way to fully overcome is the grace of God and being filled with His word. Remember that sin crouches at the door in wait for us all. Only Christ has fully mastered it in our place and soon we who are saved will be like him.
May I also add pornography is a destiny killer, you will not get raised to where god wants you to be if I cannot overcome it. Having said that I’ve been off it for just over a year now, thanks to Jesus giving me strength. Man I was knee deep, if I can do it you can. Pray and ask god to uncover the root of the problem. This was great but fails where many in the church today concerning fighting porn. The title should be, "WHY to Fight Addiction in a Pornographic Culture". His words dripped wisdom to be sure. Even still, I am left going, "Okay, but what do I DO?" The flowery talk is nice but would you say the same to a cocaine addict? No you wouldn't. Porn addiction is on par with cocaine addiction and should be treated with the same seriousness. We need to develop a "rehab" for porn addiction before it erodes us even more.
Ken, you make a noteworthy and valid point. I have read many articles, watched videos, listened to sermons and read books on the sin of lust (and its subsequent manifestation of pornography). The best resource I have found that is gospel centered and pragmatically helpful is a work called Finally Free: Fighting for Purity with the Power of Grace by Heath Lambert. This concise books is honest, encouraging and lays out a clear strategies to end the porn addiction that plagues the church. Dr. Lambert is upfront with the gospel (the only force to bring about true, lasting change) for those seeking to end the addiction apart from Christ. However, his commentary for the believer who is wandering in the quagmire of lust is appropriate without harshly condemning. A truly remarkable resource!
My thoughts exactly. The whole time I was like, "Yes, I agree with this, but where's the how in becoming less desensitized?" Talking about it is fine, but without a game plan it's really lacking.
I'd say his point is really put up a fight to see what porn really is and what it does by stealing the truth and replacing it with a lie.
Since the problem is desensitising, then to have a change in mindset would be good for being more and more sensitive to it.
He doesn't want to simply change the outside, but to work the change from inside out. That's why there's no "game plan". But one can always be made when one understands the root problem. And work it out with that in mind.
If I were to give my humble suggestion, it is, of course, to abstain from pornography and consciously fight against the kind of thoughts we might have when we see any ladies around you, in church or not. And constantly remind yourself of how much God loves them and how He sees them.
Also, back to the core, is to always remind yourself of how much God loves you and wants the best for you. And the best is to live under His rule. And our response is to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Part of which is to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him.

I get what you are saying but would you say those exact words to a Cocaine addicted fellow brother? Would you tell them to simply stop and not think about it? No way and if you would then I pray you don't have any brethren around you struggling with that. Addiction warps the mind and so simply fighting in the mind hasn't worked. We need an external solution that also touches on the internal reality. Something no one has been able to develop thus far.
Brother, I too am going through the same thing so I believe I know at least this much. And of course I'd provide more support than that. If its gonna be that serious, a community has to come to his aid.
Many addicts get out of it once they abstain long enough. Surely they will be feeling the urge to have it again but it's the engagement in other activities. And I've also mentioned covenant eyes. Is that not something tangible?
The ultimate goal is really to be engaged with a better vision if its porn. A better desire if its drugs. Get hooked up God things rather than the temporal worldly things.
It is exactly because it wraps the mind that we need to start from the mind. To renew it by God's power and be captured by Him rather than the world.
Stop being so sensitive to flowery language and see the concrete stuff ive given. And don't ignore it either because it is more than just fluff.

We need to ask God to fix and clean our present minds, not just our histories
One thing that might help people turn more away from problem pornography is when you start to understand the deeper problems with it in relation to human trafficking and slavery and the abortion agenda and how so much of the abortion industry is directly tied to the pornography industry
This bit of information May help Christians immediately turn more away. When people can realize the deeper and more disturbing aspect of it that goes far deeper than the disgusting filth at surface level, and realizing that there's nothing innocent about it and it's not just fun or some private personal pleasure but that it is destructive and it is gradually changing you for the worse.
You could think of it in terms of food which is very obvious you keep eating garbage and it's going to affect your body the same thing with this it's a form of diet and you keep bringing it in and it's going to affect your mind and very negative ways and also in ways that you may not be consciously aware of which is the bigger sinister agenda is that you're going to change in ways that you're not even aware of

I believe that to really deal with this we need to understand God's will for sex - not just what *not* to do, but what *to* do instead. It's not merely that we have little self-discipline, but that we reject healthy sexuality. Sex is inevitably expressed one way or another.
The Bible doesn't teach extended abstinence. It teaches marriage. Marriage is the righteous expression of sex, and we should understand that delaying marriage is evil and leads to all kinds of problems, not just pornography and masturbation. It is not right that we consider it normal to delay healthy sex until your late 20s or 30s.
We also need to understand the different roles of the sexes, because a huge part of why people avoid marriage is that a healthy household is not respected. Divorce is relatively easy and re-marriage is allowed regardless of the reason. Gender roles are rejected. These mean children grow up without a good example of marriage. Young people are encouraged to reject their sex and be more like their opposite, so everywhere you look are weak, passive men and loud, aggressive women (which is why they dress pornographically and why men marry them anyway).
The biggest cause of our pornographic culture is lack of fathering. Most fathers have abdicated their role as leader of the house, leaving it to their wives and the government. Our default image of God is our earthly father, so if he doesn't really care, we find it hard to really believe that our heavenly Father does either. A good father disciplines those under his care. Without good fathers we have come to believe God's discipline should be likewise avoided. But if we submit to earthly discipline (whether our real father or a church elder), we are also submitting to God's discipline - and can lead our wives and children without hypocrisy.
The one to ten scale thing was very helpful in getting us to percieve the dangers of these traps that lust can lure us into. We must realize how terribly selfish and self-centered our lusts are in every form, whether it be sexual or otherwise. Viewing one another according to God's valuation of each one of His image bearers, and resensitizing ourselves to despise with deep hatred everything and anything that's contrary to holiness is, I believe, good aims for everyone who claims Christ as Lord & Savior. We are in a huge spiritual battle everyday, and we live in enemy territory. So, let us put on the whole armor of God (see Eph.6:13-17) and "...Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Heb 12:1b I'm speaking to my own heart too. Blessings.

My deliverance from pornography and sexual immorality came by me obeying God's call for me to draw near to him. That involved praying and studying the word everyday for 2 hours for about 6 months. In those times, Father uprooted some many things and instilled many more.
Solution is this - Replacing this thought inside the mind that the joy from masturbation and pornography clubbed together,is nothing compared to knowing that there's bigger joys in life through God.
Because at this point my mind is too closed and it can't figure out any other joyous pleasures in life. The biggest pleasure sources my mind can show me is the sexual fun associated with porn and oogling at women's body parts as I live my life around women. The closeness of mind will be finished if I can find bigger and more joyful things of God. Who wants to give away expensive things for cheap stuff? Go out looking for the expensive stuff of God. You will automatically stop delighting in the cheap stuff then.
To begin with, I can ask God if there's something which He has which is more delightful than pornography or sexual activity. If you believe God has more,then seek more of Him. Press on.
I’ve been really addicted since about 10 years old, and didn’t even see it as an addiction until about 6 months ago. I’ve been up and down but it’s progress, and one of the biggest things is just seeing things online with a woman who is in barely any clothing to get views on a video, and those kinds of things have caused me to slip more than anything else. We don’t even realize how deeply these things are in our lives until we try to move away from them.
You are in a battle for your soul and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts. But don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to sin when you are being tempted and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15). God will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing God above all and you trust that He will deliver you. God will lead you to overcome sin/addictions and any challenges according to your faith / your willingness to obey Him (do his will).

I was reading a lot of thsse. Comments. And I can relate to All of it. I am a believer and a church goer. But I havw dealt with a Lot of conviction over how my time has been spent. Ive dealt with a lot of depression while also being a recovering alcoholic. Yess, ive been thru the denial stage, I didnt wanna believe it. But now I know and realize I have dranked out of depression. Omg, its soo much I can talk about. And it's easy to think ppl dont understand you, nor does anyone care. But you're not alone. Theyre are ppl out there who care. But you have to be able to take advice. God will only help you if you allow him. Things don't have to go from bad to worse.

@@missmlb3842 If you give your life to God, then you will relish in his goodness, not what _seems_ good about porn while you are single. There is a hope that you can have in God, in his purpose for you, including as a wife, that will make something like porn unable to entertain/comfort you. God's grace will balance out the natural urges... You have to believe in the exceeding riches of giving your whole heart to God. Don't be afraid to do that. He requires it, too. If you are praying, you don't have to worry about finding a man. God more than knows how to bring into your life the man He has for you. He would do it for his own glory. It's all about you trusting Him with that part of your life and waiting on Him to act in your favor when you are his wholehearted servant (2 Chronicles 16:9a). Yes, I say, stand real with God like that if your desire is that He directs all your steps.

The first steps to breaking the addiction is to remove pictures, videos, bookmarks, and any other type of temptation out of your life. I removed ALL dirty pictures from my phone and believe me I had SO MANY and it was so hard to do...Staring at them as I deleted them. But for my Fiancé and with the strength of the holy spirit in conviction and tears I begged God to help me clean up my computer and phone. It can be done but you have to want it. God delivers. God is able. Pray pray pray!! and also ACT!

Sexual desire is everywhere unless you lock yourself in a room with no stimulus bit even then that could be detrimental.
I go to the gym so I dont relapse into my old sins of drugs and alcohol but it is just full of dirty sexual tension between everybody in there.
Whats funny is i will not have sexual relations unless i get married and it seems because of that the women become obsessed with me because i dont pay attention to them.

This is so spot on, Andy! I noticed that same thing in the gym (and other places), with the women who are determined to wrestle my attention onto themselves. The only time I get a break is when I go to the gym between 2 and 4 a.m., when no women feel safe being there.
One of my big struggles is the developing of the "dignity" mindset that brother Voddie is talking about, whenever I encounter women that are dressed pornographically--or who MOVE in a pornographic way. One thing I found is an *incredible* amount of people who will stop at nothing to convince everyone they can that nothing pornographic is really happening, that it is _just_ "dirty and toxic masculinity" that is THE problem. I think that is the spirit that Ephesians 2:2 teaches us is working in the children of disobedience.

This is a great response. Really hard subject (pardon the pun), because it’s everywhere. And it’s so easy to revert back to old habits.

With Jesus, you can reach a point of no return as far as old habits go (being safe from the risk of returning to them). I haven’t watched p*rn in a couple of months but the lustful thoughts are still prevalent in my mind. Though I know now that I must take authority over theses thoughts and offer them to God to cleanse. One verse that I’ve always found encouraging is 2 Corinthians 10:5 “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ”
