Some other brands sell PR9 Naphthol red in acrylic paint namely chroma atelier interactive, daler Rowney cryla. I dont know the lightfastness in tints though. There is also PR112 which is also called Naphthol red, and Winsor and Newton, golden, Matisse structure sell this colour.
Pr9 is fugitive in masstone. I strongly caution you not to use it . Of course do your own lightfast test but results have proven this color fades terrible even in mass.
@@nicolemartinart5819 what about PR112, because I find it hard to find a transparent warm red for glazing as the cadmiums and the Pyrrols are too opaque
@@alizafar2624 pr112 is fugitive in tints I'm afraid . Warm reds due tend to be less transparent though in watercolor I found a rare gem with Daniel smiths Quin . Coral . A fully transparent warm red .
@@alizafar2624 do you know what? In acrylics for a warm transparent red you could start with a base of quinacridone red. Since quinacridone red is pretty primary and neutral. And then add a bit of a transparent warm yellow. I think that's the best you can do for a fully transparent warm red in acrylics. As it stands right now . Though I'm hopeful Daniel smith will release acrylics one day and include the quin coral in that line. They do make oil paints ,both traditional and a water mixable line , as well as watercolors and they just released a line of gouache paints. So I'm hopeful they might do acrylic soon.
