Yeah if im being honest this stick is only 1 step above non branded chinese 3rd party stick. But 1 step below the standard for sticks which is how it lowers the price from 100-150 thats more standard.
The buttons and stick are generic likely trying to clone Sanwa buttons which are considered the bare minimum/standard for arcade sticks.
I think the main thing to be warned about while the arcade stick advertises as customizable its really not compared to the standard and its a marketing gimmick. (Its more customizable than the last stick they made which was hard to even change buttons but less than other stick makers.)
For example the buttons can now easily swap for the arcade standard Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons which you can get 8 for 25 bucks (part of how they cost cut) or a Sanwa JLF stick for around another 25-30 for that. But unfortunately they did not make this easy to customize to get standard 5 pin connectors to fit in this stick you have to cut the plug for the wires or use other more complicated methods (even tutorials online show this process).
So personally its a ok stick but its not great quality compared to the rest of the market. For the 70-80usd you pay plus another 50-80usd in parts if you want to make it bare minimum arcade standard youd be better off buying something like a mayflash F500 elite which is the older version of the F700 elite.
It isint wireless and cannot play ps5 (but can be modded to do so) like the F700 but it comes with arcade standard Sanwa parts and can be played on PS4, PS3, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC Windows, macOS, Raspberry pi, Steam, Android, Switch, NEOGEO mini for 150usd which would come out to nearly less money than the 8bitdo for better standard quality parts, true customization like with art covers, and far more system compatibility.
The new F700 Elite for 160usd comes with all that and wireless, headphone jack compatability, and ps5 fighting game compatability.
So for a 8bitdo to be standard quality it costs about 130-150. Depedning on price of the system and the parts needed. But for 150-160 out the box you could get the F500 elite or F700 elite that is better in build quality in every way and has more features and system compatability.
8bitdo is good for those who dont care to have real arcade quality/customization and just want casual fun. But if your really intrested in fighting games id suggest otherwise. But its good to get a review from the perspective of someone new to sticks/the arcade exp.

Thanks for the insight, helpful to know this stuff. What I would say is that my time with Fighting games has been positive with this stick, id look at more expensive ones in the future but considering what this product is it seems to do the job and my personal experience with Street Fighter 6 and Soul Calibur 6 has been good.
