    Good review, thanks. Pretty helpful I'm trying to decide between this and the F500 for Retropi and PC gaming. Other than physical size difference the hardware seems very similar in quality and the F300 is about $30 cheaper.

    also since it was never corrected you dont need first part wired controllers the first part wireless ones work just fine. I have a f500 that works the same at least for xbox one and ps4 I have used it just fine with a wireless one

  • @MrTripcore

    I think there is a way to use a wireless xbox 360 controller with it. You can change a setting somewhere, one of the switches I think, or in the xbox gui itself. You can alternatively get a mega / magic boot usb dongle for around 20 or so

      josh gage because he is japanese and thats what every korean and japanese person uses. Just like most americans use pad (I would argue sonicfox is the best dbz player and he uses pad). But unlike tekken or street fighter (which are games made for stick) dbz was mad for pad. Use what you want im just giving advice. The game flows better on pad, u dont want to use stick for an 8 button layout.

      I have the F300 and I use it for Dragon Ball FighterZ. Personally, I love it for what it is, it's a great beginning fightstick for anyone who wants to purchse one but is afraid of buying the wrong one, if you are using it for a console though, I would recommend getting the wireless dongle made by Mayflash that acts like a first-party controller (therefore removing the need to carry another controller around). If you are not a fan of the usb completely on the outside though, I would recommend putting a couple more bucks into buying the F500, since it has a compartment on the side to hid the cable when not in use. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference, getting a stick won't make you any better, but it sure feels great executing a combo with a stick.

      I honestly have no idea. I ended up not purchasing this. It was recommended to me that I go for something that didn't require an additional plugin. Went for the Razer Panther and didn't look back. The Xbox version is the Atrox, but it is a bit pricey.

      Unfortunately, I don't have experience with the hayabusa buttons. I haven't been tempted to try anything other than Sanwa. The stick I use is the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT. I like it a lot. Got it in three sticks.

    I recently bought a F300 as a first-time fightstick, both because it's cheap as far as basic fight sticks go, and because I tend
    to jump between all my consoles and PC a fair bit and it seemed convenient. If I decide I really want to stick with a fightstick,
    how many options do I have for good fightsticks that work both PS4 and PC (my main platforms)? Madcatz looks nice, but
    I'm not sure about their comparability with PC's in comparison to the F300's plug-n-play.

      Pass-through not required for Raspberry Pi. It requires some tweaking, but it wasn't difficult to setup. Its about as close to "out-of-the-box ready" as you're going to get for a Raspberry Pi arcade stick.

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  7 лет назад +1

      Ya know...I was waiting for the buttons and/or stick to fail before swapping them out with Sanwa parts, and they're still going strong, surprisingly. I imagine a PCB swap would be possible, but I haven't done it myself. Instead of doing a PCB swap, it may be worth looking into the Magicboots adapters. I don't know how well they work, but the adapters plug into the USB port on the Mayflash and convert the stick without having to connect a controller. I may pick one up for 360.

      Ok, good, because I would like to just use it out of the box for a few months before having to open it and change anything out. Some of the reviews for it on Amazon make it seem like the thing poops out, buttons-wise, pretty quickly, like you're rolling the dice when purchasing this thing. I quickly looked up the Magicboots thing and it looks legit. I'll look into it. Thanks for the response!

      It doesn't seem ideal, since these sticks aren't analogue. If you're playing on PC, you may be able to connect a second joystick to your PC and map controls across the two sticks, depending on the game. If you're playing on console...no. Controls aren't usually able to be mapped across multiple controllers.

      I haven't played with Hori Fighting Stick Mini. I heard it was a decent little stick. I considered buying it, but the F300 is significantly more flexible regarding mods. If a button goes bad, replacing it is much easier than I imagine it would be with the Hori.

      Can i just swap out the square gate with a jlf octagonal gate restrictor for the f300? or will it not fit in properly and require extra work? and also if it doesn't fit, how hard is the process of replacing the stick with a sanwa jlf stick + octagonal gate, thanks in advance, im a complete noob when it comes to modding and stuff like that, haha. oh and btw what do you think of the mayflash universal arcade stick? its much cheaper, do you think modding that would be a just as easy? (i want to play sfv on pc with it btw)

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  7 лет назад +1

      The Sanwa octagonal gate easily replaces the square gate. The square gate is held in place by four plastic tabs. The old gate pops out and the new gate pops in.
      I haven't used a Mayflash Universal arcade stick. I was under the impression that the F300 was the updated model of the universal arcade stick. The F300 works on PC, and I've heard its a bit easier to mod (I still haven't modded mine...it has been shocking resilient)

    • @Silvers_7
      @Silvers_7 7 лет назад

      Kevin Godfrey So i can buy a sanwa octagonal gate restrictor and swap it out with the square gate in the stock stick? meaning i don't have to go and buy a sanwa stick separately for it to fit?
      sorry if i'm asking the same thing again lol, just want to make sure, because currently i do have the money to buy an octagonal gate restrictor, but not a sanwa stick, just want to make sure the stock f300 stick supports an octagonal gate, thanks in advance

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  7 лет назад

      Heisenberg101 Ahhh...I'm glad you asked again. I misunderstood the question. You want to know if a Sanwa octagonal gate will fit the F300 stock stick. I honestly don't know. I won't have access to my stick for the rest of this week, but I'll check when I have a chance.
      As a side note, when I really started using a stick for fighting games, I seriously thought about using an octagonal gate. I stuck with the square gate, and I'm glad I did. Now I can pick up nearly any standard arcade stick and use it without issue, and I can buy nearly any decent stick without having to worry about doing mods so I can effectively use it. For what its worth :)

      Yes...but not natively. It works on a per-game basis depending on whether the developer includes the drivers for the PS3 stick. SFV supports PS3 sticks via a legacy option, but Its not a reliable solution for other PS4 games where you may want to use a stick.

    hey man dont know if you will get this. does the xbox controller need batteries? or will the fightstick supply the controller with power

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  7 лет назад

      If you're using an Xbox 360 controller, it needs to be wired. It won't work with a battery-powered Xbox 360 controller. From my understanding, wireless Xbox 360 controllers don't send a signal over wired when plugged in. The only receive a charge and continue to communicate via wireless. I can't speak for Xbox One controllers. Hope that helps.

      Kevin Godfrey thanks for the reply. do you think the may flash will be a decent stick for a starter? i have never owned one and would like to start playing fighting games

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  7 лет назад

      Absolutely. For the price, you can't beat it. Just be aware that when you start using a stick, it takes a while to get used to the stick. At first you probably won't be as good with a stick as you are with a controller. Its just something everybody goes through, regardless of the quality of the stick. This stick feels close enough to higher-end sticks that you won't have to go through another adjustment period if you decide to upgrade to a better stick.

    • @spaceman5462
      @spaceman5462 7 лет назад

      Kevin Godfrey is a square gate good? i have seen a lot of mixed reviews on it

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  7 лет назад

      its not bad or good. Its personal preference. I prefer a square gate simply because that's what I'm used to. I could see how an octagonal gate might really help during the early stages of learning how to use a stick. Since the majority of sticks have square gates, I like knowing that I can buy a stick and use it without having to change out the gate. Also, if I'm at a tournament, I know I won't have trouble finding a substitute stick with a square gate if mine craps out.

      Nat it has native support for Windows. Additionally if you connect a wired 360 controller to the joystick and connect the joystick to PC, it shows up on PC as a 360 controller.

    Does it need the DS3 plugged in for PS3?

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  8 лет назад

      No. The DS3 is not required when using with a PS3. I used it on my PS3 a couple of days ago. I had not tried the stick with PS3 when I made the video. Thanks for asking.

      Haha...if I ever get rid of the sticks in my collection (not likely), I'll keep you in mind. The F300 is very reasonably priced. About as much as a new game release.

    What's a SCHMUP?

    • @VKag78
      @VKag78  7 лет назад +1

      SHMUP is short for "shoot 'em up". Examples: Galaga, Raiden, Ikaruga, DoDonPachi, and R-Type.
