For the wellbeing of the animals tortured and killed for their flesh and secretions. For the protection of the planet and all life that depends on it. For your health. If you are a vegan that doesn’t speak for the animals, I hope I can inspire you to open conversations with non-vegans. As vegans we have woken up to the systemic oppression of farmed animals, after abstaining from contributing to their suffering we must help others align their morals with their actions.

@@gloverdragon6854 I agree that what you described is leagues better (less abusive) than standard factory farming. Still, if unnecessarily taking life for pleasure can't be condemned as abusive then almost nothing can.
Why won't you eat lab grown meat? Insisting for no reason at all that the majority of sentient beings *must* die for your arbitrary pleasure is not just abusive, it's evil. It's downright evil. I hope that you'll choose to enjoy lab grown meat as it becomes ubiquitous in the near future.

I really appreciate the Socratic approach in your style of activism. By mostly asking questions that people answer themselves and interjecting at the right times, instead of just bombarding them with _'WRONG, WRONG, this is why you're wrong!',"_ you make them more receptive to changing their minds. You're also personable and inviting, which makes it engaging yet non-threatening, opening people up to considering new perspectives without feeling pressured or becoming defensive.

Like, maybe asking if their feelings about veganism would change it if they knew that their family/friends would be completely accepting (or even become vegan themselves), and if they say yes, then it might at least make them more aware of this factor exerting influence on their decision.

Whose choice are you considering other than your own (and other humans')? Do cows deserve to be exploited just because you have a choice to do so? Everything we do is a personal choice. I could abuse someone else and that would be my personal choice. Does that make it justifiable?

@@robert-yv2yj Absolutely. I am all for respecting people's personal choices....but when there's a victim involved at the end of that choice, I think that's when we need to stop and question if it's morally acceptable. In my opinion, it is never acceptable to hurt another being (human or non-human) unnecessarily. That's what this video is all about - understanding that there are victims in the choices we make and minimizing that harm as much as possible. And we know that we do not need to consume meat, dairy, or eggs, meaning the animals in these systems are victims of unnecessary harm.
You shared that you are vegetarian, so I'm guessing you care about the wellbeing of animals(?). I obviously don't know your reasons, but I want to commend you for this reduction in harm. I also want to let you know, in case you're not aware, that there is tremendous suffering and abuse in the dairy and eggs industries. I won't talk your ear off here, but if you are interested in extending your kindness and compassion, I would highly recommend seeking out information about how the dairy and egg industries works.

@@alisondelassus9186 Thanks for a reasoned reply, a rare thing on social media. If you dispatch an animal quickly, and it as had a good life, that is not cruel. It may be unjust and unfair. A cow fed on grass ,and killed humanely is not being treated cruelly. It may be unfair to do so.
If theworld turned to veganism the envoirimental deatruction involved in growing wheat, soya etc would be tremendous. We've seen it in South America where forest is cut down to grow wheat, or graze cattle.

I understand and even respect you being vegan, but dogs are not bound by our culture, dogs are opportunistic predators, and will ALWAYS prefer meat over vegetables.
Following that same logic, why not impose a vegan diet on wild animals? They are killing other animals, most of the times in horrific ways, even by the worse human standards.
Maybe (and that's a big maybe) you have a specialised nutritionist to tell you how best to supplement your dog's diet to compensate the huge nutritional deficiencies you're causing him, but I bet most "vegan dogs" have a terrible diet, and have shitty health because of their irresponsible owners.
