Nice, i like it, is the box a standard thing ? Does the big scraper come with it or have you bought it separately? Could you emulsion straight on top ie is it flat enough ? Cheers
Not sure, I think I got the promo pack with a mug and a biscuit lol You need to get your own smoothers. As said in the video, you can use any brand. You can paint on it like normal once you sand it down
i'd say use your common sense if you need to put a sealer on. As the surface needs to be dry and 'sound' before you apply it, or all you'll do is pick up loose brittle parts of the wall you are trying to improve on.
He did skim it. If you are refering to traditional plaster, no way it's faster. Mixing up dust and dirt, carrying bags and buckets and water ... and how long before you can paint 😊? This you paint next day, no sanding dust since you would be sanding with dust extractor. Actually easy sanding is what makes it attractive to decorators, they don't have to worry and lose time on perfect troweling. However, traditional plaster is more durable. This isn't a plastering product, smoothing a wall after wall paper removal, just another prep step before paint that is all.
Nice video and demo thanks Phil. If you were painting what would you put on it first? Bullseye? Knauf do one called proroll you can get in Wickes for £30 a tub looks Identical stuff.
No its completely different to easyfill its totally different product you can't smooth out easyfill like that with such ease its more closer to tape and joint compound
lol, I think I'd of then waited 4 days for it to be dry enough to wash coat, re fill where you've missed areas, sanded and re wash coated before getting my emulsion on. lol
Phil any pin holes/bubbles as its drying? I get those with Knauf, its the only thing putting me off from using this system again as they are very hard to fill in or smooth out over and over again while drying.
no, no bubbles/holes. If you don't put enough on to smooth out you may find areas that look missed/dragged. But you learn to put enough on if its doing that
Interesting Phil, cheers. That sort of wall, traditionally we would have made good and lined it. Would you say this new product is better than lining paper? Looks like a great finish. Probably quicker too?
Oh I still lined it.. I used Albany Reinforced Lining paper... it's made for such a better wall than leaving it all Umpy Dorri.. If you didn't line it, I'd say two applications I'd of got it a lot flatter. But with the house being 150yrs old.... the customer likes the character of not having falt walls.
Are you trying to FLEECE would be Customers in saying BUY THESE TUBS, when All they have to do is Buy a few Scrapers of different sizes knowing full well a sander can make it look so smooth ?
I used Gardz on it as I was Lining over it. if emulsion, I'd of just eased it slightly and treated it like a new bare surface.. it is ready to paint though.
A up! We are pro Plasterers now us deccys we can do it all nice one Phil.
I have been using recently. It's a good stuff and it's very easy to sand it dowm as well.

How uneconomical is this product? You could easily knock up plaster and do the same process. Enjoyed your work
Tnx.
But I'm not waiting two days for it to dry fully and losing money... £30 ISH a tub... Ready to paint next day.
Time saving.
No chance , as a decorator in the it not worth the hassle, leave it to the plastering
There's not many decorators who would insist on the clients getting walls reskimmed after stripping wallpaper. Fair play though
Friable old walls Will crack again at least a lining paper specially fibre backed Will last a long time for client.
Yes, true
Do you have to buy a new roller cover after or can you clean them?
I just wash the roller out
Nice box you get with it Phil, looks a decent product.
it is Steve, once sanded and smooth its nice you can see it being Grey.. you know you've actually done something lol
How much to do a wall like that though? Really like the idea of it just dunno whether it’s worth it financially
That wall... Half a tub... So 6kg.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator He's meaning as to HOW MUCH COST ?
This has to be the future of plastering! How does it work if u need to pva the walls ect does it still go on as easy?
Why would you PVA the wall?
Quicker just to skim it😂
Thanks
Any need to to unibond or similar to stop suction or cure powdery surfaces Phil

Hi Phil I would imagine one applying one laying off between the two of you ,get a lot done 👍🏻deffo be giving that a go
yes, but it's easy for one to do as well... you can do this!! ;)
Just skim it, way faster and no sanding dust. Perfect finish. No sanding marks.
Skim it with what?
He did skim it.

Just treat it like bare plaster. Thin some emulsion down and coat it up.
It's ready mixed Easi-fil in a larger tub
No its completely different to easyfill its totally different product you can't smooth out easyfill like that with such ease its more closer to tape and joint compound
Phil ur cred has just hit zero well done
But my views have gone up mentally just off this video... So I say, well done 😂
SO then Phil, is this TUB-PLASTER cheaper than Bag of plaster, I'm GUESSING NOT ?
maybe not, but the time saving makes it a cheaper option when next day you sand it anad paint it.
So you've NEVER PLASTERED BEFORE then Phil ? (tell the truth now)
I'm not a plasterer
So Buy these rollers and scrapers and simply do the SAME will BE Cheaper Phil or ???
cheaper than what
If I had a corner would I need to use the metal beed as well Phil usin the product
If it's a good corner I wouldn't bother.
If it's bad and you're building it back up look at using a plastic corner edge
What’s the plastic edge thing called so I can look it up many thanks
@@shanenewton7061 look for plastic corner bead
@shanenewton7061 you can use paper bead, with metal strip in it, much better than plastic.
Also, paper for cracks instead of fiber mesh
I would have skimmed that in half the time. 😅
lol, I think I'd of then waited 4 days for it to be dry enough to wash coat, re fill where you've missed areas, sanded and re wash coated before getting my emulsion on. lol

I find the toupret skim and fill leaves pin holes too. Probably too much air injected when they mix in the factory.

Great video Phil, well worth a try. 👍
Thanks 👍

You OK buddy? You need to sort your thoughts out before coming out publicly.
my customers wouldn't be buying anything themselves to do.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator ok.
Cheaper to buy a few bags of plaster rather than these tubs, which is cheaper ?
🤣
Great video.
Thanks for the visit ☺️
Hi phil because it's bare plaster would you seal it before painting or lining. Or is that special plaster
I used Gardz on it as I was Lining over it.
if emulsion, I'd of just eased it slightly and treated it like a new bare surface.. it is ready to paint though.
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
Thanks that's how I do bare plaster guardz. I thought it was a special stuff 🙏
Hi , sorry but Newb here . What do you mean when you say eased it ?? Love your videos, I’ve learned a lot
@@adrianwebb6683 ease = thin it down... sometimes its not by very much, just so its easier to apply.. or soak in better than being 'neat' (as it was)
He means if he was to emulsion the wall he would have just put a little water in the first coat, hence… to ease it.
