I’m really not sure why so many people dislike season 3. I thought every bit of it was great! I actually stopped watching season 2 about half way through, then decided to revisit it when 3 came out and loved season 3 so much more. It definitely revamped my love for the show. Then season 4 came out… blew my frickin mind

Season 3 is horrible. It became a comedy with cartoonish villains.

Season 3 is my FAVOURITE out of all the seasons! I love how animated and intense ur reactions are!! Season 3 n 4 are emotional ,heartfelt ,hilarious yet wholesome ..Every character deserves so much empathy
Definitely the best season. No complaints, the writing and storytelling is unrivaled.

mmhmm. Not only that but she literally looks like she is. Some children don't look so much like their parents, but Maya 100% looks like a cross between Uma and Ethan

Poor Will lost most of his tweens to the monster. He still just wants to be a kid and play and all of his friends are moving on without him. It is such a heartbreaking story line this season.
To give Hopper credit, he did follow Joyce's advice and stay calm. If a bit _too_ calm. 😂😂
I agree Mike was a little too cocky for his own good; but bear in mind that he is probably still smarting from Hopper lying to him for a whole year! And going through puberty probably doesn't help either.

Season 3 is my favorite season..it’s so nostalgic…Season 4 is awesome and intense..I’m liking rewatching this for the first time in years through the eyes of someone who gets super excited about the characters.
Don't know if you knew this yet or not but the actual actors for Nancy and Jonathon are dating in real life. So a love story did blossom on set. ❤

Mike was being a bit of a punk, but him trying to diffuse the tension and giving Hopper the opportunity to segue into the heart-to-heart by saying, "I think we're in trouble," is totally something I would do. A more well adjusted adult would chuckle and say, "you're not in trouble, I just wanted to talk to you about..." and get into it.
Yeah it was just not a good situation and the stress had already gotten to Hopper far too much. If he had set these boundaries a few months ago, it wouldn't have gotten to this point. But he's not the most well-adjusted person, on top of just being a man in the 80s who doesn't have the social training to deal with emotional issues well. And he's dealing with paranormal shit and hiding his child from the government and trying to keep an entire town safe all by himself. I also would not make the best decisions in that scenario.

This series is weird in that Season 1 was awesome, then season 2 happens, and yeah there's a bit of a lull but still it's even cooler and you think "will it be good again next season?". Season 3 is AMAZING and you'll think "how will they top this?" And Season 4 is a masterpiece... The pressure they have on season 5 is insane lol

I had a friend, who grew up in Russia (USSR back then), and he was always hot, always sweating, always undressing, always uncomfortable. And we were in Michigan, the place where everyone thinks is always snowing. It's not. But yes, I can see why you might think that. Since Detroit is NORTH of Canada (as in Detroit is north of Windsor, Ontario, the only major US city north of Canada.) Anywho, it's 81 degrees Fahrenheit right now outside (27 degrees Celsius.) So, yeah, the creature would love the climate in Russia, for sure.

@@BenBanjo87 Yeah, Hopper was the adult in the situation and he shouldn't have taken it personally for a child to be acting like a child. Also he REALLY needed to set these boundaries months ago before it escalated to this point. But also to be fair to Hopper he's a man in the 80s so he doesn't exactly have the best training to deal with this sort of thing... Let alone adding in all the other stressors like hiding your adoptive child from the government and being responsible for the well-being of an entire town (with paranormal activity!) all by himself. And he's only human, we all make bad decisions.

The fact that this season opens with the Soviet Union attempting to open their own gate on Jun 28, 1984 and the fact that season 2 took place starting on Oct 28, 1984 proves that Dr. Evans' fear was already a reality.

It's funny to watch reactions from younger people, with no kids (I exclude Hannah because she's a mature soul) and they see Hopper as the overbearing parent. But at my age and having teen daughters, boy I was all on Hopper's side haha. He didn't handle it all that great, but once Mike got disrespectful all bets were off in my mind 😂

Also, the 80s phenomenon of college bound girls deciding boys who were NOT college bound was real. I married a guy who had no college, but I didn't meet him until college was over. For a few years, it seemed to matter a lot.

I'm not sure you're going to survive season 3 and 4 Hannah.. but.. they are both epic as hell and belong way way up there with how good they are

@@MARS0l It's amazing and the discussions people have online about the episodes are so interesting. Two seasons so far, 7 episodes in the first + 8 in the second. The story flows so well and your opinion on certain characters will change because they are written so well; their complexities make it harder to judge them accurately. The acting is phenomenal too, there's a scene in the first episode that deserves all the awards.
