Thanks, good info!
Great video bro learn alot!! Thanks
Awesome video. You concluded the exact the facts that I used to buy my Z. Keep up the good content
Which one did you buy? And why?
love you holy f thank you
very informative video , keep this type of content coming
Definitely glad you enjoyed it
@@SmokeyDrift we watching from Las Vegas
For japan base model fairlady z also come with vlsd.
good content alert
Mine is an 04 touring bout to Ls 3 swap mine
How much of a pain would it be to have both a welded and open dif on hand so that if you wanted to take it to the track and drift you just swap one out for the other and afterward just put the open dif back in?
A complete pain in the butt. Not only is it a long task but if you drift you would want to always have the welded in so you can practice at random times
@@SmokeyDrift Thanks for the advice, I was just wondering because I would love to get into the drift culture but I'd also like to have a reliable daily driver 😂 could always get sketchy with it though 😂
What’s the best final drive for these cars NA drifting?
Honestly it depends on what tracks you hitting and your level of drifting. Some people like 3.69 gears. We personally like the 3.538 gearing. Its all around pretty good for an NA VQ!
So I have an 06 base Z, is there any other way to know if I have the YAW sensor besides checking under the dash? ( it does not have a VDC switch)
Pull the center console where the handbreak is at an the yaw sensor is right there an just cut the orange wire or unplug it
I’d love to make mine a drift car but it’s my daily, not sure if that’s safe or not to do or how far I should go with that before it’s unsafe to be honest. I was gonna weld my Diff and get BC coil overs. Mines an 06’ Touring I believe. Has buttons on both sides of the wheel. Not sure if you could give me a few pointers but I love to swing my shit in open parking lots, just don’t wanna crash out going to work because my diff is welded.
If your going to daily a welded diff you need to relearn how to drive your car especially in the rain. If you want to just have fun and slide once n awhile in parking lots you only need an LSD. If you have the VDC/TCS button next to your gas release button you already have an LSD
@@SmokeyDrift ah gotcha, yeah I have the button by my gas but it doesn’t spin both wheels, it does a one wheel peal. Not sure how these guys are drifting in the rain, tried it the other day and my car spun out/hydroplaned like you were talking about, then my car shut off and went into limp mode. Shit was bad. Just figured I’d ask someone experienced like you Vs someone like me 🤣 I’ve had it maybe 8 months now and it’s a great car just has a few quirks.
@@ClutchDre__ Sounds like either the clutch is burned on your LSD or an open has been swapped in. I would tell you to weld it and give it a shot but you need to learn how to redrive the car. In the rain you will have double the chance of wrecking
@@SmokeyDrift ah gotcha man, why would it shut off and go into limp mode mid slide though? And how could I stop that from happening? It’s annoying as hell 🤣
@@ClutchDre__ watch my most viewed video its the abs switch the video will walk you through the steps
I recently bought a 05 350z but dosent come with vdc 😭 can I still drift it if I just weld it ?
I would check under the center console and see if the switch is there (i have a video on it) if not yeah weld er up and send it!
I have a question about a 350Z bc I need to get a new car and I need help getting the right 350Z
Whats your question?
Smokey Drift can you add me on Snapchat and talk to me on there @kmahlum16
Hey, can you also just buy a welded diff and put it in instead of the LSD that the Z came with?
No you can either weld an LSD. Or plate and weld an open diff (which is the better option).
@@SmokeyDrift ok thank you!
What if you want to daily it but drift it every once in awhile?
LSD but if you plan on going to a track to drift then a welded
@@SmokeyDrift Sounds good thanks for the reply I’ve been trying to find a playlist for a budget build
Is 100k for a rev up engine too high on the miles ?
No but I would just be careful with that motor
What should i do to keep the longevity on this engine
@@adrianromero9326 first thing is ALWAYS check your oil!! Only use 5w40 oil for that motor it will help it last longer. Other than that just stay up to date on your sensors. That motor as double the sensors that the DEs have so double the chance of one going out
I appreciate the feedback brother .
The rain the snow. Its horrible
Don’t listen to him buy an rx8, rotary gang
Haha hey now cant beat the sound of a rotary!
