Stock 08' 350z roadster here, I started learning to slide my car in the first three weeks on 8 yr old tires full of tread haha. After about 8 months I started holding some more serious angles with some new tires and I can say so far, I've had a ton of fun with absolutely no modification. So don't be scared to drift stock, just don't be stupid and take your time to feel out your car. That said, I only slide around on the streets when nobody's around , so no idea about track stuff.
Absolutely! Even just removing bump stops and some extended tie rods can get you plenty of angle to practice with. Thats my plan for the start! Thanks for the input man
Totally man!! My first time out I just had coilovers and I spun out all damn day. I always heard guys talking about throttle control and i couldn't understand why it would be a big deal. But that 2nd day I was linking the track and having people asking for ridealongs. I'm very excited for my first drift event with my new angle kit. I'll probably just be doin bsckflips and shit. Jk but stock angle for first time and NO EBRAKE!! :)
@@WyattKendrah I'm going to try a wet 50 shot of spray this fall. Not going to tell anyone at the track. Just see what happens lol. The nitrous controllers these days are so impressive I have to try it
As someone who Drifts alot with a stock 350z other than the diff ,and oil cooler you need none of this. Drift at less 1 season and find out if you like it. The less stuff you add onto a car the better driver youll be. Then i'll agree you should start modding if you want. Alot of good options on this video.
Wyatt, I have been drifting a G35 in australia for a couple of years. Every Part on my car is GK except BC coils and bride rep seats. You’re right about seats, get good brand that don’t recline but you should mention weld diff FIRST! or in my case l shimmed it locked as first mod. I never drift Z or V chassis without locked diff especially if you are already used to locked handling cause an open diff will try to kill you every time lol. Second not sure why you leave out GK tech … they make everything, they are constantly redesigning parts to implement improvements. Seems weird to show photos of there products (hydro) and not mention the brand. I mean the fact you can get everything at once is awesome. Lock kit, LCA/ UCA, hydro, arms, diff brace, coolant bleed valve, subframe bushes, plenum spacer, brake lines, steering wheel, gearbox mount, extended studs, wheel spacers, wheel nuts list goes on, best of all is Dan’s tutorial product vids. I have noticed GK stick to simple stuff that works and probably doesn’t look as baller as some other brands, bottom line is you want to just get out there as a beginner not spend a year buying and building a budget car.
Gk teck has a nice plenum spacer and z1 has a great cold air intake along with a 75mm throttle body kit, z1 can aslo remote tune your car and they do amazing work for a vary reasonable price
Ik im late but go with gkteck if you dont have alot of money gkteck you can get a whole kit fromt and back with a drop knuckle and a tie rod extendeds with all the replacement bushings you can dream off ive ran the kit for over 200k miles and the kit only cost me 1.4k they just came out with v2 of the kit and they also have fully adjustable knuckles for the front and back you can add as well they aslo have an ebreak kit for the g35 with duel caliper braketa made for the z and g
They have both bolt on and weld on calipers if you have a g that comes with brembos switch the back ones to the hydro caliper and pick up stocks to mount where the brembos wh we re Sorry bout mistypes my ohones is broke lmao
So you don't have a 350z but your making videos on what you need to be able to drift them? I feel like in order for any of the info to be worthy you should at least have some experience in the chassis first. Mind you, most the info was true. Other then I definitely wouldn't have a seat and steering wheel at 2 and 3. Number 1 should be coilovers, Number 2 welded diff, and number 3 an angle kit. That is a perfect setup to get started and take you through the first bit of learning to drift.
Appreciate the input man! Don’t have a 350 myself but I’ve been in numerous on track and have gotten input from all the drivers and what they recommend. I’ll just say with no seats in it’s a rough ride around the track lol
Wyatt shows pics of GK hydros but doesn’t mention the GK brand. GK literally sells everything he talks about except bucket seats and the new V2 angle kit is adjustable camber ‘ on car’. I run every GK product on my G35 and it is good enough for any beginner amateur comp car. Some people say the GK stuff isn’t durable but it depends how bad you treat it, if you crash any arm from any brand will break.
when you realise your drift build is going to be even more budget than a budget beginners guide
I clicked on the video expecting exactly this lmao

I don’t have a 350z nor do I know how to drift but this video was very informative and entertaining.
😂 my guy ❤️
A sign to get started!
Highly suggest trying to learn with stock angle first to get throttle control down. Absolutely killed this video!

I’ve heard some things about the traction control not being fully turnt off when you turn it off, Is this true? If so how do you get around it?
I agree, I'm in my second season and you can get started with a lot less. @chassis.code

I second that. GK tech are the real deal and high value.
First time viewer. Subbed. Can't wait to see the build. I always loved 350z as a kid.

Welded diff (2 way lsd if you ballin) and seat for 350z
This guy knows 👌🏼
Is two way better than welded?
@@RVCAXD yeah it's more forgiving(drivetrain stress)
at low speed turns.. off throttle though(coasting) . On throttle they are kinda the same
i live near a track and wanted to start drifting. buying one soon

Been drifting with stock seats for a few seasons and see no reason to upgrade anytime soon
just wondering, do you have cloth or leather seats?
@@WyattKendrah i have cloth because I have a track edition but now that you bring it up I could see leather being an issue

Do i have to remove yaw sensor?
gktech angle kit tho😏
I know this is old but this is the best straight forward video I was looking into getting a z but what trans would you recommend?
appreciate it man! i would rock with the stock 6 speed unless you plan on motor swapping tbh
fire video you need more views for this

how the hell do i raise the redline 1k rpm without rebuilding my motor. i know these stock valve springs cant handle that

Could I still use my z as a daily driver even if I do this? (Are these mods street legal?)
They should be, at least they are here in Texas lol I would check your local laws to see.
Fdf angle kit more expensive buddy
No it’s cheaper for sure lol
Yea for sure wisefab is like 4-5k
