Avoid donuts at all costs. Fast food can be successful but it's quite unbalanced right now. If you want to open a fast food joint focus on burgers and pizza.

i overtook one of the 5 cups businesses in midtown and it nets me 12k a day from donuts alone, i import them for 0.38 each and sell them for 5 dollars, you just gotta git gud

Absolutely! They can be profitable. Just gotta go large scale to make any real profit. Compare this 12k/day with 50k+ from a lawyer firm, or jewellery store given the choice early on I would choose one of these

My 2 donut shops sells coffee soda cup cake abs croissant and both making over 10k a day

Coffee has had a considerable buff in the EA0.2 release. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have much of an impact on donuts alone. I have a save with 20 stores that only sell donuts (Video to come) and I make about $3k - $5k/day :(

@@haveapk That's where you got it wrong. You're not supposed to sell donuts alone, it's a complementary item that people buy when they come get their coffee for exemple. Clients buy more things on average if you offer them, and those comming just for donuts will buy others things too. So a fast food that does 50k/d will go to 62k/d for no further investment than adding the donuts shelves.
