As others have said so well, excellent video. In my case, I would have probably spent around $400, but even then it would have taken two months for an appointment. The clarity of this video allowed me to brave the repair myself and I couldn't be more pleased with myself. (lol) Cost: $84 for diagnostic report, $17 for sensor from Amazon. Now I look forward to saving $84, next time, by using my new diagnostic scanner ($98.99), and @chrisfix will be my first stop every time.
Such a great comment!! Thank you!
Can you tell us what kind of scanner did you buy? Thanks!
@@ricardoampie4194BlueDriver. Its $99 on Amazon
2014 Santa Fe. Saved hundreds of dollars for the price of a sensor, offset wrenches, and a Saturday morning. Thank you sir.
Echoing all the other comments, but EXCELLENT video!! Straightforward and to the point without being confusing or leaving anything out. New sub for sure. And thank you!
Thanks so much for the information ❤❤❤ The dealer wanted over $1000.00 for the same repair. I did it myself for about 90% less money and completed it all in less than 2 hours. Many thanks, my friend 😇🙏🏽
Glad it helped
Thank you! Just swapped out mine on a 2017 Kia soul. Very clear instructions
Excellent video! You saved me over $400 in Dealer repairs costs by showing all the steps so clearly.
Glad it helped!
Very good demonstrative repair video with some quality background information about how the sensor functions. Thanks man! Liked and Subbed.
Saved me a ton from the dealer. Had to remember to disengage the parking brake to get the rotor back on. Excellent video!
Glad it helped!
Thank you, your video saved me a ton of money! It was an easy project as it only took a couple of hours with 4 beer breaks.
I'm glad to hear that. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Extremely well made video it is obvious you spent a lot of time making it! A perfect tutorial easy to follow step by step the tools needed ! Thanks! ( can you make one on raising teenagers please 😞)
Thanks for the great video. This fix worked great for my 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The only differences are: do not need 14mm angle wrench and the emergency brake backing plate needs to be removed. Thanks again!
Good to hear that!👍
I don't usually comment, and sometimes prefer not to listen to people with strong accents that my be difficult to understand but this guy was excellent! Excellent, detailed instructions, excellent video work, excellent tips, everything was great. Thank you.
Thank you for the wonderful comment. I hope it was helpful.
very helpful video. Saved me $500+ from dealer fees. Bought the part online for $30. Thank you sir
Glad it helped. I guess five hundred dollars is the standard. All dealers across the United States charge the same rate.
Thanks for this video. Just replaced both rear sensors on my ‘17 Tucson. Worked great! 👊
Glad it helped!
You do it so easy great job my friend
This was great. Other videos say you have to replace the bearing along with the sensor because they come as one unit. Which is $50 vs $10 per wheel. Love that he showed how to test that the sensor is bad too. My sensor ohm'd out ok but when a magnet was placed next to the sensor the ohms did not drop toward 0 (Replacing the sensor fixed my problem).
Great video and great job!!! The video helps the consumers to know what will the dealer do with your car. 😅
BEST INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO EVER 💯
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
nicely done video. very informative. thanks man
Thanks for the electrical specifications.
Saw other RUclips videos on this... By far this is the best one with the best lighting/video angles.
Dealer quoted me $550 USD for this fix. Sounded way too high for me.
On my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport replacement, removed the entire caliper bracket along with attached Caliper (squeezed a little caliper cylinder w clamp to ease removal/installation of entire Caliper Assembly).
The use of the offset 14mm wrench - bought a set for this fix - to remove the lower bolt on the caliper bracket was invaluable, else it would required more disassembly in the rear suspension, something I was not willing to do.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I haven't used an offset wrench since this one.
excellent - well done and I appreciate the tips.
Well done, Sir. I had this replaced at the dealership, I thought my car was still in warranty but ti was out by a couple of months ended up costing me $260 or so. I have a code reader so if it happens on another wheel, I'll do this on my own. Thanks for posting this.
they just quoted me 659, doing this shit myself
I don't think $260 was a bad deal. Thank you for sharing your experience.
great job man great video short to the point def a future in this
Thank you for your feedback!!
Excellent. This was a big help in replacing the rear wheel speed senser in my 2017 Sorento (FWD). There was only one minor difference with accessing the brake caliper bracket bolt, and I did not require an offset 14mm wrench. My adaptive cruise and front camera also didn't work because of this failed senser. I bought a KIA OEM senser (
I’m glad to hear that! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Boa noite amigo, acredito que estou com o mesmo problema. Tenho um Kia Sorento, e ascendeu a luz do sistema DBC no painel e não apaga. O problema no seu carro era esse?
Thank you so much for this video! Really helped me out!
Glad it helped!
Excellent video, and even better editing. Thank you for getting right to the important stuff.
This video saved me some money. Thanks to you I did not buy the hub just sensor. Issue solved.
Good to hear that and thank you for leaving a comment!
Thank you! Good information!
Thanks Man, you just make me save $$$$$
I wish I could give you more thumbs up. I bought the rear sensor for my wife's 2017 Tuscon.... but it's the wrong part. EVERY single part search is the exact same wrong part. (wiring harness with plastic single bolt plug sensor). What I see when I pulled the wheel off is this very thing you're replacing as the only sensor on there. I have no idea why ours is different than every single sensor listed for this vehicle. I wonder if there was a revision or something mid-year for our model or something where this sensor was changed for the one in your video. Well... I can take back the $125 part, and purchase the $20 part now. Thanks so much for this video!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I can feel how hard it was. The probe type sensor is for the front wheel only. Cap type sensor is used on rear wheel and it is sealed with the wheel bearing. Thats why its soled separately in official parts shop. Good luck.
Awesome video easy detailed instructions for the do it yourself mechanic
Thanks 👍
Satisfying vdo. Thanks
Its excellent video you give me an idea for my sta fe 2014
Excellent Job! you get a AAAAA+++++++ I will be replacing my in the morning! Thank you for not over talking! you get straight to the point, and i love that!! I will Subscribe to your channel
Thank you for watching. I wish you made it!
Very helpful Video 😊
Awesome
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the video
Thank you, you are doing a great and profesional job and tutorial there.
Hello from indonesia Sante Fe owner.
Thank you for your feedback!!
Thanks homie
Thank you so much for this. Going to tackle this myself!
Good to hear that. Thanks for the comment.
@@_yamech7533 It didn’t fix my problem 😞 throwing same codes. I need to take it in to get it diagnosed. If they say I need new hub assemblies, I will do that myself considering I basically got that far to replace the sensor.
Thanks!

good work bro
Great video,thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed it
Dealer quoted me 450 for one, 700 for both. This video will help me do the job myself. I bought the genuine KIA part (20 bucks! on ebay), and an 8 dollar offset box end 14mm wrench. Thanks for the clear, concise step by step video! BTW ... Auto Zone diagnosed the problem even to which wheel sensor was causing the lights to stay on for..FREE!! Only thing I may do in addition is to put a little silicone caulk at the outer edge of the part before tapping it all the way down. KIA had a service bulletin on this 7 years ago for this car, and it said it will help keep water out which can wreck the sensor.
I did this repair today. Went well after watching this video several times. On my 2013 KIA Sorento FWD I didn't need the offset box end wrench. But, after I finished, I started the car and the warning lights (ABS, ESC, downhill assist) still came on and stayed on. Rats! I pulled the car up and down the driveway. Still on. Disconnected the battery for about an hour. Nope..still on. Then, went for a drive around the block and the lights all went out! YAY! So...in my case it was different from the video which showed them going out immediately. So, if this happens to you, don't despair until you drive the car and spin the wheel fast enough for the sensor to pick up the signal. Thanks Again for the clear video!
Thank you for info!!
Thanks 🙏
감사합니다.

Excellent video. I can do the task very easy.

great
Good job great video....i can change my hyundai rear sensor. new subscriber and thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for the great video. Replaced my wheel hubs and cleared the code. Note: the clip on the connector can be pressed to release the connector rather than removing the clip...thanks again.
Good tip👍 I should mention that on next video.
Thank you for the video. Helped me a great deal on my 2015 Sonata Limited. Only the right side was bad, but replaced both sides. If one side goes bad the other side is right behind, right? Didn't need the offset wrenches as bolts were very open, but now I have a set so still a win. Bought 2 sensors from Hyundai dealer in NC, $53.33 for both with shipping.
That was good deal. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Great video I've got a Hyundai ix35 and I've changed the Driver shaft and maybe I've done something to the sensor because it feels like the the brakes are on
You may need to check wheel speed sensor and wire. If you did not remove sensor before take you hub bearing, sensor wire could be damaged.
Wow I got quoted $1,000 to replace both wheel hub assemblies!! Thank you
I think $500 a side is an average price. But it still seems overpriced.
Great video. Just one suggestion: measure the resistance in the beginning of troubleshooting to eliminate wiring issue as a potential problem. This could save time.
Good point! Thanks
Thanks for the video! Couldn’t get the new sensor into the hub assembly with a rubber mallet. It kept popping out. I tried your 2x4 trick and it went right in!
Im glad to hear that. Thank you for the comment.
dam ill be driving without abs for awhile, it's -35 in canada right now, I'll wait till spring. Good thing I can drive without abs lol.
FYI my 2017 Sportage used all SAE bolts on this job, except for the 19MM wheel nuts - ??? Great vid, thank you.
Most of bolt sizes are compatible. Perhaps it would have been possible to use metrics. In Korea, metrics are the standard.
Wow ordered 8$ sensor going replace on Sorento dealer asking $670 for weel hub assy Thanks for the video
Glad it helped. $670 is is the highest among the comments. its under 1h job for normally trained technician.

Good video… I have been looking for a video like this. Now I am wondering if I open up the speed sensor and wipe it down to perfect clean will it work again!
Glad it helped!!
Excellent video! Saved me a bunch of time. Quick question - why did you have to remove the caliber and bracket separately? I think you could remove bracket and take off whole assembly. Saves a few minutes.
I think it will be possible to remove it, but it will be difficult to release the bolt under the lower arm.
buen trabajo y gracias por el video
Gracias por tus comentarios.
Thanks man! When you say align the connector position, is there a mark to line up or something?
I couldn't capture it in the video. Just point the connector towards a place where the bolt spacing is wide. The hub has no top or bottom.
@@_yamech7533 Thank you so much my friend!
Hello, after I replace the front passenger axle of the Kia Sedona 2012 now I have the abs light on. Any suggestions??
I suspect that the speed sensor wire was damaged while replacing the axle.
I have a 2014 Santa Fe limited V6 FWD. Mechanic said ABS code was for rear wheel speed sensor but for this model I need to replace the whole assembly. How can I confirm if that's true?
That is true. Dealers don't distribute sensors alone. it is delivered only as an assembly. The method in my video is a shortcut. This is not an official repair method. Replacing whole assembly is manufacturer’s recommended method.
Hey gudday I watch your video about abs brake hill descent light does not comes off. It is suitable also on kia sportage 2019 cause mine lights off does not comes off. Just asking I'm from the philippines
If it is Front Wheel Drive vehicle, Yes. it will be similar to Hyundai. But make sure OBD2 Error code before replace sensor. ABS light may be turned on for other reasons.
Great video, which scan tool are you using?
Its Bluedriver($120). Its easy to use but overpriced. If you need to scan the code only, FIXD($40) can be a great option.
How soon do you have to change it? Is it safe to drive when it comes on. and what causes it.
This is not a consumable item, so you don't need to change it unless it's broken. If the ABS warning lamp is on, the vehicle may lose control in an emergency braking situation.
Great video! Thank you very much. Has anyone tried to replace that sensor without removing the bearing from the vehicle? It looks like it could be possible
It looks like it's going to be difficult because it's so deep.
I am about to replace mine on a 2017 Kia Sorento. Dealer wanted $750. I saw your video and said I’ll try to do it myself. I’m confused as to where to align the sensor like you said when putting it back on tho. Is there a groove indicating where the sensor should be?
All you have to do is remember the direction of the connector when removing it.
Anyone know if this part would be relevant for a AWD Sante Fe? All the parts say 2WD
AWD sensor does not look like "Cap". It will look like probe.
best of all was the quality of the video at every angle. "a big plus" So, there is not an easier way to follow. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Replaced my sensors and lights remained on. My new sensors are reading 20m ohms. Is that right? What should the actual ohm reading be for rear tire sensor? Does it have to be around 240ohm?
What was error code number?
My new sensor was reading 400kilo ohm.
Hello , what is the device for diagnostic errors that you us please, thank you for answering , and your help for this video
It is called Bluedriver. You can find it on Amazon.👍
@@_yamech7533 thank you 👍👍
I did this repair on an i30 but now I have a red exclamation warning sign on my dash board do you know what the cause or issue is?
It seems to be a brake-related warning. Scan the code with OBD tool.
What is "Fake Fix"?
I have a 2013 Santa Fe Sport with exactly the same problem, and this looks like something I can handle. I do not want to give the dealer a dime. Great job with the video...I'm thinking I can do this...
I am imitating ChrisFix.
I will make video that shows how I put it in practice what I learned from him. That’s why I named my channel FakeFix and I want to be a second biggest DIY RUclipsr following him.
Thank you for leaving a comment. I believe you can make it.
how do you align the connector position? Is there something that tells you where to place it on the new one?
Just guess it will either have a different spacing near it or you could use a colored marker on hub and old sensor before removing to try line up same spot for new one
@@automechanic904 I did the marker and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the help! much appreciated.
@mikeosborne2857 Thank you for participating in the knowledge sharing!
Thanks for this video,. Great job! My 201t5 Santa Fe is displaying this error code for both rear sensor (C1208 and C1209) I am thinking of just replacing the sensors and not the whole hub since they look good but not sure if worth the extra investment and buy both…
If you have FWD, most of vehicle weight is on front side. All heavy powertrain components are supported by front wheel . Not much load on the rear wheel. I am confident that the rear wheel bearing will not get worse before the front wheel bearing. So consider how much you use your payload in the rear.
@@_yamech7533yes it is FWD and use has been very light. The bearings look good I tried cleaning the sensors tu that didn't work so I will try changing the sensors. Whish me luck lol
Why don't you test a resistance before purchasing a new one? The new OEM product had a resistance of 400kohms. see 02:52
@@_yamech7533 Yes, I saw what you did there. I will try that first just to make sure the sensors are the actual problem. Your video has been very helpful man and thank you for taking the time to reply I appreciate it.
Could you check please!
Can you possible decomposition sensor only like 3:13" Fig?
I don't fully understand the question. The black cap is the sensor itself. It's just one piece of plastic. If you have any more questions, feel free to leave a comment at any time!
@@_yamech7533 Thanks for your quikly answer.
I will check it again.
I have a question. Does this works on Kia Sportage 2014 as well? Got same DTC code. But cannot find bearing sensor anywhere for my Kia?
As mentioned in the video, dealership parts center do not sell sensors alone. Search for wheel speed sensor that fit your car model on Amazon or eBay.
This video is only for FWD. not 4WD
@@_yamech7533thank you for your time and good answer!
Hi friend, where can i buy that wheel speed sensor and abs sensor
For a kia sorento 2014 2.4 gdi
It is Front wheel drive?
Search 52751-2B100 on eBay.
Sir how about if the scanner said wheel speed sensor/performance/intermittent are the result. What will we will do? We will replace the speed sensor ?
Search code number like C1208. Description from scanner is not very accurate. Find out DTC code and search possible reason of that code.
Hi where did you get the manuals? I am looking for i30.
If you are replacing rear wheel sensor on a front-wheel vehicle, it would not be much different from the video. The front wheel sensor is a different story because it is shaped like a stick rather than a cap.
Hi Chris, may I know what brand or model scanner u use on this video?
Hi. I am not ChirsFix. I am fake of him. LOL. It was BlueDriver. cost about $99 back in 2020.
Is this the same part for my 2016 Kia Sorento?
No. Part that shown on this video is for 2007-2017Hyundai Santa Fe 2WD
and 2011-2015 Kia Sorento 2WD.
I believe replace procedure will not much different with 2016. Just make sure your part number.
What is the brand and model of that code reader?
It is BlueDriver OBD2 scanner.
On my 2015 Hyndai Tucson, the ABS started to work without an error, but the system does not show an ABS error. Do you know what could be the reason?
If there is no ABS error, it is resolved, isn't it? What error are you expecting?
@@_yamech7533 The error is not shown on the display, but the ABS continues to activate every time you brake.
It seems not Speed sensor issue. Check Brake Control Module
I am curious what part inside the original sensor failed?
I haven't teardown it, but as the resistance was too high, it is suspected that inside coil has been disconnected.
hello. where did you buy your computer to scan?
It is Bluedriver OBD2 scanner. You may not need same model. Cheaper scanner works find for beginners.
How did you know which sensor has the error?
You need to scan OBD2 error code. 00:00:47 I got code number C1208. It means “Rear Left Wheel Speed Sensor Invalid Or No Signal”. Each sensors has different error codes.
Hi what tool are used to open?
I used a couple of flat head screwdrivers to pop out sensor cap.
What is the actual part# ? i am having a hard time finding it
You can see part number in my video 01:00. Goggle 52751-2B100QQK.
How much torque does your ratchet wrench have?
PITTSBURGH 1/2 in. Drive 10-150 ft. lb. $21.99 from Harbor freight. It covers most of the job.
