    This is MJ in his prime no Athlete in no other sport compares to this version of Michael Jordan. He was dominant on offense and defense every Game he played. Which was alot because he's the only Guard/Wing to play 82 Game's a record 9X's.

      @Leaving Blank You sure invested a lot of time commenting on one particular athlete who doesn't know, or care, that you exist.
      Just a few small points. Horace Grant made ONE All-Star team during his entire career and it was during the 93-94 season when Jordan was playing baseball. Also, Rodman made TWO All-Star teams in 89-90 and 91-92 when he was playing for Detroit. So technically, Jordan never played with an All-Star PF.
      You are correct that the historically great mid-80s Celtics teams beat Jordan whose best teammate at the time was a coke addict. Jordan averaged close to 44 Pts a game in the 85-86 series including the 63 Pt game against a starting lineup with 4 HOFers in their primes. Funny that I recall Bird saying that he thought it was "God disguised as Michael Jordan." Beat his ass like a drum. Good one.
      Better off that you don't come back to read replies. Take your ball and go back home before you make an even bigger ass of yourself.

      Unlimited - being allowed to play physical defense - and no, these highlights don't give a true picture of what a 48 minute game back then was like at times.
      They could put hands on the body with force, forearms shoved in the chest with force. There were so many holds and grabs which are too much however. And no ticky tack fouls if you touch a guy defensively like today. That's why today's players shoot so many more free throws.
      Physical play makes fatigue a factor as well.
      And finally, eliminating the 3 second defensive rule which forces defenders out of the paint every 3 seconds which is why the stretch 4 and 5 developed - they were no longer able to defend the basket effectively and teams gave up on trying to stop easy baskets at the hoop. That's why it's so easy for even the smallest guys to get lay ups so easily today. That's why there are so many easy dunks with no big man contesting the dunks and easy hoops like in Jordan's day. They called it a "no layups policy" back then.
      Defense allowed for more competition. You could win even without all of the best offensive talent. Defense wins championships. But the NBA wanted high scoring for more ticket sales. And the rule changes of 04-05 happened. And now winning is about which team has the most money for offensive talent because you're not allowed to aggressively defend them - no longer is it about which team plays the hardest and toughest.
      It was more exciting and honest before. Now it's a sham. Half the teams are tanking. And nobody cares about defense. Just chucking threes. No grit. No toughness.

    • @edwinlaguer3111
      @edwinlaguer3111 4 года назад +2

      @@boogieloo1831 If they changed the rules, it's for a reason. The NBA found out that it was better to make the game less physical and eliminate handchecking . Either way, basketball has not stopped being a physical sport, if you play basketball, you know it.

    • @jasonbournesburner3845
      @jasonbournesburner3845 4 года назад +4

      @@edwinlaguer3111 Not true, this is very false. They changed it because they The NBA executives wanted more scoring after Mj's second retirement. The late '90s was horrible with too much brute, then it picked up a little in the early 00's, In 2004, that all changed, they eliminated defence all together pretty much. However, at times but not enough, you will see some Defence occasionally. But not like in the late 80s to mid-90s where it was 50-50. Go back and look at some of those scores in the late 90s. Miami Heat-Knicks, even Bulls vs Pacers, Jazz...low 80s-mid 100s, sometimes 70s. Now? 130-150! no friction in sight. You remove that defensive 3-sec rule, that will change instantly. I have a feeling the NBA will revert to some degree, especially with this Netflix docuseries coming on 98 Bulls. I see a lot of MSM pushing their narratives now. unlike prior. It needs to be 50-50. it's not like that now.

    • @edwinlaguer3111
      @edwinlaguer3111 4 года назад

      @@jasonbournesburner3845 The reason why the scores are so high now is because the offenses just kept getting better. In today's game there's way more spacing and and the game is faster paced. Defensive rule changes probably where a factor, but in MY OPINION, people oveyrestimat how phisical the NBA was.

  • @alecsanderhamilton9224
    @alecsanderhamilton9224 5 лет назад +8

    Michaels 92 season was easily his most effortless season.
    In other words, MJ was the best MJ in 1992 and not 1991.
    Also Pippen was best Pippen in 1992 which made MJ’s job even easier. The Bulls were stronger in 1996 and 1997 than 1992 , regardless of what Ainge or anyone else thinks, the 1996 and 1997 Bulls were stronger than the 1992 Bulls, but MJ and Pippen, Grant and even Rodman had he been a Bull in 1992, were all the best versions of themselves. It’s just Rodman Pippen Jordan Kukoc is > Grant Pippen Jordan Cartwright. So sorry. But back to the message...
    - 67-15 his best regular season record yet
    - He averaged I believe 30.1 points which was his third lowest after shortened second season and rookie season but his team still won the most games
    - Pippen was officially prime
    - Jordan was in his athletic prime, physical prime and though 96 was effortless and 97 very close as well, Jordan could score 30.1 on over 50% still exhausting himself less, taking more jumpers than before 1992 but also being able to physically get to the rim more efficiently than Jordan in 1996 or 1997 where I believe he averaged 30.4 and 29.7 respectively, which puts 1992 between those two season in PPG but he also did it more smoothly and efficiently, he wasn’t over 50% again after 93 I’d guess off my head right now.
    Now the playoffs were a different story, the Knicks hit em square in the nose in game 1 and their season really began.
    The 92 playoffs were Chicago’s toughest.
    They lost 7 games after the first round, went 7 with New York and their dynasty was almost derailed as unexpectedly and faster than it even started.
    The Cavs and Blazers went 6 each with Chicago and were tied 2-2 both series.
    But MJs regular season was MJ and Chicago’s apex of the 88-94 era, he could do less, at his best and Chicago would do the rest.
    They won a championship in Chicago Stadium, they went back to back, they survived New York’s surprise attack, and distinguished the last two “teams of the 90’s in CLE and POR.
    Examples of this effortless ability from MJ and Chicago were the Game 7 vs NY when they won 110-81 in a sudden death situation.
    Game 1 vs Portland when they won by the second half of a finals game and MJ went for 35 points in the first half, hit six threes at an automatic clip, but could finish with 39 points and call it a day instead of going for another 60 + like the days prior to 1991 when Michael’s efforts weren’t a guaranteed win much less a blowout.
    And Game 6 vs Portland when Jordan could sit on the bench start of the 4th Qtr and let Pippen and the benchman erase a 15 point deficit to steal a second title going away. The Bulls and MJ were their most explosive prior to 1996 and 1997 when they took what 92 did and made it a normality.
    1993 they did not have this same energy and swagger until 60-70 games into the season and in the playoffs when they again showed that surging raging Bull ability. Again New York took sails out of Chicago’s stampede but after returning home Chicago wrapped up 4 straight and then put Phoenix in a chokehold off jump and merely lost two games due to Phoenix’s explosability but only in desperation and not in rhythm.

      OSCAR and EMMY true and false. There is a balance to be played at and Jordan understood that balance much better in the 90’s. He was physically better and better prior to 1992 but he was more under control for the entire game and of the entire game by the early 90’s. He was a better basketball player worse athlete in 1992 to 1987. He was also stronger and more efficient. Which was my point about 1992 being his most effortlessly great season.
