Never approach a horse from the rear, a bull from the front and a fool from any direction
👍Best comment
I Belive that’s an old Irish proverb lol
@mumbles215 to be sure
A well cared for, and well trained horse can be approached from behind by his rider though. You know that trick where you hop in the saddle from over his flank? I practiced that with my horse for a while. If he trusts you he can work with you.
Having friends is like having a garden, sometimes you have to weed out what is no good.
That's why it's batter to just ride alone. Less unnecessary bullshit to deal with.
“If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do no harm.” Agreed.
Yes, tell that to Poland, which both Stalin and Hitler invaded, each killing hundreds of thousands of people. The Polish people who saw their nation crushed twice and their friends and family be slaughtered, might disagree with you on that.
@@maskedmarvyl4774 ...As well as innocent children that are abducted, raped, and murdered.
@@maskedmarvyl4774 What about the Nazi concentration camp guard that was caught living out his life in the US? He was Polish. And yes, a true horror story of those poor Souls that fought to the end, in Warsaw.
Exactly, conniving corporate freeloader capitalism, is the enemy within the u.s today. It pays brainwashing corporate propagandists to divide and distract away from our state-capitalist corporate scam economy
@@maskedmarvyl4774 i agree with what you said but the number of people killed is incorrect.Around six million polish citizens lost their lives during the second world war(three millions of polish nationality and three millions of jewish origin-both groups had polish citizenship).
Teach these sayings in schools!! Hopefully we will raise some sensible future adults
Nah, it will be seen as white racist collonial ideas. Obviously not good enough or applicable to 'you know who......."
If we have schools in the future

"one eye is a better witness than two ears' WoW there's a lot of truth in that!

"Pardon"
My favorite one too profound
Why is the lady holding the scales of justice blindfolded? I think that has something to do with being one eyed.
@@jamescrydeman540 Because justice is blind! It only focuses on the truth, not c colour or race!
It’s very easy to fool someone, very hard to convince them they’ve been fooled.
My observation so far in life,corresponds 100% with his sayings.Also true that if you know someone who despise such sayings,it is because it describes them in detail.
Not quite 100%. For example, he says that "What hurts you today makes you stronger tomorrow." Obviously he's referring to the fact that it is adversity that hardens people and makes them able to withstand greater challenges, but there can be examples found of people who were only damaged rather than helped by the pain they suffered.
Take Karl Marx for example. He was a complete fool by Jefferson's standards, and one of the ways he proved it was by the fact that the tragedies he suffered only made him increasingly bitter and cruel. Nothing about his painful life experience (most of it self-inflicted) made him a better person.
@warrioroflight6872 Actually you are right.Seen it too,experience it also.Not easy to admit that most hardships push me in wrong direction.Good observation👍.Honest too.
I do not agree with all, there is always exceptions but I agree with most of it in the video.
The more current addition: “I alone, can fix it.”, “I have the concepts of a plan”, “Did you see her face? She’s not my type.” True integrity.
At 38 sec, is sage advice. Consider this when you happen to see "expert testimony" in congressional hearings. My colleagues could give a dissertation on some issue and I would end it quickly. Thomas Jefferson was widely believed to be one of the smartest people to be president. President Kennedy once said of Jefferson when hosting a dinner with prominent scientists in the Whitehouse that there assembled the most brain power to sit here since Thomas Jefferson ate alone.
President Kennedy definitely had a way with words.
Thats why Democrats had him murdered.
As you go through life two rules will never bend. Never whittle toward yourself or pee against the wind.

America has gone from this kind of great leadership and wisdom to an idiocracy
America showed the world its @$$, then elected him a second time
@@MrLightningbob As opposed to what?
@@gomerzpyle6805 Someone who worked their way up the ladder, fighting oppression for their mere existence, and actually has an education to show along with credentials.
But now we have reelected a guy who refuses to show school, medical, business, and tax records, has bankrupted nearly every business he's touched and the ones still in operation are known to commit fraud, he's a known sx offender who would go to PDF file parties, and has contempt for anyone who doesn't suck up to him and is a known rcist.
And that was going into his FIRST election. Then demonstrated himself to be the worst president in the country's history with only his republican predecessor as competition for that title.
Now, he's already crashing the stock market without even taking office yet and his plans when he takes office are guaranteed to crash the economy, a recession (like with every republican pres in the past 40 years has given the country) will be the best case scenario, though it is likely that a Second Great Depression will result. And the devastation gets even worse beyond that with his parties plans.
The funniest part of that is that of the two candidates and parties today, the one likely to remember Jefferson positively is the Republicans and even Trump.
@@randomobserver8168 The republicans are the party full of slavery apologists and think of those times as the 'good old days when people knew their place'.

Mark Twain said. Common sense is the most uncommon thing in the world. He also said. The more I see of people, the more I love my dog. 😂
Here in the UK being dishonest pays, being released from prison after serving only 40% of your sentence proves crime really DOES pay
Wow!! A 60% discount. Y'all must be running out of prison space. Must be all the "thought" crimes.
@martinsaunders7925 Not got the brains 40 years ago watching an expanding population eh, 15 years ago with migrants invading pushing crime rates up still no brains, 2024 after serving less than half their prision sentence dangerous men released due to lack of space ? It takes no brains whatsoever to build 2 more prisions
0:35 He defines Kamala Harris so perfectly 😂
Politics still ugh
Realities
It's well known he studied the Bible. Here it seems Proverbs had an impact ! These sound similar to many things in Solomon's book. Those that may be different are still wise words.👍

A fool can be identified these days by reading and writing comments.
Grit: Have "We The People" atop the most important national document and ban everyone who does not own any land from voting (roughly 94% of citizenry).
Jefferson had nothing to do with writing the Constitution. He was in France at the time.
@@lanetower3411 Lol, yes Sir, Mr. OCD, he did not physically write it, but he wasn't opposed to what it said either.
He might have had an interesting conversation with King Solomon.

'A hand with 5 fingers is better than none'. 'We need air'. " i am dead now, like a skeleton'. "Never look at a person if he is not there'.
Love, to be love, is unconditional so his first comment is wrong. And George Bernard Shaws definition of a fool is best, he puts it in a manner that inludes all of us afool being someone who does not know what he does not know. I think that it is a means to demonstrate our maturity when we can poke the borax at ourselves, accept it and even revel in it.
A man who does things makes mistakes but he does not make the biggest mistake of all that's doing nothing
A two-dollar bet can get you ten. Sometimes.
We could use a Jefferson in DC after 2024.

Who am I? Short answer: Not you.
"Two in the pink, one in the stink."
-one of his more recently discovered quotes
People knew not God, Jesus, by the wisdom of this world; it's all vanity to God, Jesus, the worldly mind pleases not God, Jesus; but the heart willing to grow in truth and forsake the evil, this persons glory given by God, Jesus, saves his body, soul and Spirit!
Either half of these were paraphrased, or Jefferson didn't say them.
Figures don't lie but Liars sure figure😊
How is it possible that the US came from this to "Unburden what has been"? Something must have gone wrong along the way.
Is this from a book ?
"Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear." --- Thos. Jefferson

A fool and his/her money are soon parted.
2 ways to figure out a fool is by their mouth and by their actions....
Who does the Wise man ask... the wondering fool?
Proverbs 11:17
[17]The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
Proverbs 13:10
[10]Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
{Pro 22:24 KJV}
Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
{Pro 22:25 KJV}
Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
{Pro 13:2 KJV}
A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
{Pro 13:3 KJV}
He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
and both of them involve being an MP
I'm not going to look up all these, but Jefferson didn't say any of them that I did look up.
It only takes one thing-a red hat!
How did Jefferson approach slavery? With full acceptance.
You left out one.

And remember….”It’s only a Movie”
If you want sound wisdom, may I suggest the Bible. The book of Proverbs would be a good place to start. Wisdom from this man isn't worth much. He was a selfish, selfserving man and no monument to making wise choices.....and I am putting it mildly.
I thought it was 2 sure signs ????
