I’m 62 and have been feeling the same way lately. Letting go of relationships that no longer serve me has been hard, but it’s also incredibly freeing. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in this journey.
My mother is 80 plus Her pillars are 1. Prayer...seeking God 2. A heart of gratitude and seeing possibilities in every challenge 3. Healthy eating 4. Good spending and recycling of the little money she has... 5. Social capital..small cycle of friends and people ...
Agree 100 percent 12:09 especially on no. 1 because the 1st step towards true joy is a deep, profound connection with the Lord God, our creator and His Absolute Gospel. I'm 66 and will turn 67 next month and i've experienced occasional loneliness ever since i retired from work, more so when my youngest son passed away 2 years ago. I'm immensely grateful to God that through it all, HE never left me and made me a stronger person. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything will be given to you “ Mathew 6:33 , to me this is the only true the pillar to live for any age
To everyone who reads this, though we’re strangers and may never cross paths, I want you to know that I genuinely wish you all the best that life has to offer. May you find strength in tough times, joy in the little things, and the courage to pursue what truly matters to you. No matter where life takes you, I hope luck finds you when you need it most, and that kindness, peace, and fulfillment fill your journey.🙃
I find that people have changed and at this stage of my life i reaize the important on not relying on family and self care has become very important. Family is important but so is self care.
I turned 76 last October and can vouch for the “5 Pillars”. Worked as long as I could, spend money on things I value, looked after my health - cancer an old memory, have no grand children to play with and volunteer at a primary school, have creative interests and get enthused about things - counting colours in my rainbow. 🙏
God must be your guiding Light. You are guaranteed a good retirement with loving kids, grandkids, and great grands. My pride and joy is my kids , grankids and great grans. I invested love in them and now God has given me a reason to live and love. Your joy must come from inside of you and when you love as unto the Lord you have everything.
I am 79 and i find that old age has brought me piece and calmnes as nothing is required of me any more, i only do things i like, i eat healthy, exercise and i am grateful for all the good things i have and had and this balances the less pleasant things in my life.
I will be sixty eight next month and feel content and in control! Just had my sons here for Christmas which was great! They have gone to see their Dad as we are divorced! I have financial independence which is good! I love the freedom that living alone gives you! I was a single Mum for years so it is now my time! I was judged a lot as a single Mum by others! Being older I do not care what people think about me! My sons are doing well which is great! They are both good workers! I count my blessings now as I had a tough childhood being a family of twelve! Your past does shape you because I am very independent now! I enjoy reading and other hobbies! I walk a lot which keeps me fit! My house is on three floors so do lots of stairs which is ok! Just eat well and keep well each day!
I am 64 years ,and I am sooooo glad for all I have heard in this content,God bless you so much.My first pillar is Lord God Almighty,HE is the Greatest life PILLAR"I am also a pastor and God is really backing me up,then My family and my friends in faith.Yo God be the Glory" Hallelujah!!!!!!
I am 75 and very healthy for my age. Life is a University of Learning. I came on this beautiful Earth to learn about Love and Compession Acceptance Forgiveness Patience and most of all Gratitude. There is much more to learn and experience. For me having Faith is very important too. I practice yoga and meditation. I love travelling and connecting with nature and do volunteering as much as l can. The greatest wealth is being fit physically mentally and spiritually. Love and respect everyone without judgement and don’t forget to love yourself too. It is very difficult to fully love others if you don’t love yourself first.
Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey! It's wonderful to hear how much you've learned and experienced throughout your life. Your commitment to health and personal growth is truly admirable.
On how deep is your relationship on your family will affect your life. As for me, I prefer to be with my lovely grandchildren rather than volunteering on other things. I’ll be 73 soon but very happy when I’m with my lovely brilliant grandchildren. They are the source of my joy and strength. So very lucky to have them in my life. Thank you Lord.
This video resonated deeply with me! The five pillars mentioned-financial independence, physical health, emotional resilience, supportive social circles, and purpose-are such practical and inspiring ideas. I particularly loved the example of Mrs. Clara staying active and independent. Thank you for such insightful advice for those of us navigating life after 60! 🙏

After 60 or before be always mentally positive and feel happy without social circle . Enjoy loneliness. Every relationship is selfishness noone is interested in you without any cause even wife also.Always remember you came alone and also move alone , noone is with you . Early realisation is must to reduce sorrows and agony . Be healthy and enjoy .
I agree with you 100%. I don't rely on Social Cirlce to make me happy and I am in my late 30's. Most people nowadays are very fake, superficial, and are users! Always rely on God, your good health, and peace of mind to make you content.
Can’t agree more. I was just recently thinking about this, including family relationship. Everyone is in here for their needs to be met.you came alone and will go alone, love that. Always was taught that in the childhood , but that’s hitting more hard now with life experience. Stay strong 😊
"Enjoy loneliness" is something I cannot comprehend. I have a place full of all sorts of things I'll collected and bought over the years, but nothing is as fun and pleasant as an day, or evening or afternoon with friends. I have had all the loneliness I need, have had very much time to myself, but lack of socializing is killing me. For the first time in years, I spent New Year's Eve at a house full of people all speaking in a language I didn't know more than a few words of, but I was happy to be there, with people. I made new friends, and hope to be invited this year again.
Wonderful life goes on believe in god as he helps us all when we’re down life is beautiful but tough at times just do your best and be truthful amen I’m 86 yrs old
Love your comment, cheers for you,I am 76 and feel the same as you by the way I still manage my civil engineering business and besides I read a lot which keeps me fully occupied.
I m 57, no grandchildren yet but I keep busy myself running a small school away from the country where my children are in. I still feel young and think that if i haven't got responsibilities, i will be dependent. I practice my religion and believe that God is so powerful and that he guides every step of my life. Hope happiness to all if you! Keep positive and enjoy the last few years of your life.!❤❤❤
I am 57 years old living in india.I am at verge of retirement after 34 years of service as a mathematics teacher.I just started learning python coding and decided to study data analysis.I agree that all these five pillars will definitely help us to navigate through our remaining journey of life. Thanks for such a wonderful advice. We must be grateful to almighty power of universe, who had given such a wonderful life.Almighty power had given us everything and we should expect nothing.
I am from Kerala, retired from Service last year. .. very useful and inspiring message.likeminded people can constitute a friend circle also.. Thank you
Thank you for the useful information👍🏾 I am 63yrs following from Rwanda. I pray we all learn to let go of our past hurts and adopt forgiveness expecially to self. Then embrace the five pillars shared here to enjoy a joyful complete life.
The best way forward.I turned 70 last July and because I scolded one of my children and my wife in anger ordered them out leaving me alone. Your five pillars most helpful. Thanks.
The most challenging for me is to imagine the alternative sense of purpose, besides my work, and besides family! Wery wise and inspiring text, thank you.
Honestly, these are the things i was actually planning to pursue in my life as i turn 60. Your points are very clear and makes real good sense. Thank you.
I certainly agree this is the word view of living successful when aged. This is good but not the Best. Relying not on our own ability but on God who created us is the best plan to implement regardless of Age.
Completely agree, now more than ever, after a few stroke plus other issues lol. I love my family in a special way, although I now love everyone. But finally love God most bc my life is proof He can help us more than anyone & use us as a living example of what He’s capable of. GBU for already knowing this! :)
what an eye-opening video! 💡 It’s so easy to get caught up in the idea that family will always be there, but as we age, these five pillars really highlight the importance of independence and resilience. Financial independence, physical health, emotional strength, a supportive social circle, and having a clear sense of purpose-these aren’t just nice-to-haves, they’re essential for truly thriving as we grow older. 💪 What really stands out to me is how these principles build a foundation that empowers us to live life on our terms, not relying on others to dictate our happiness. 🌟 I love how each story brings these pillars to life-such powerful reminders that it’s never too late to take control and make your next chapter even more fulfilling! 🙌
Well said. I am not yet into 60s but preparing for it, so I welcome it. I left 25 years of Corporate, while in late 40s got on to preparing for teaching career, got a Doctrate 50s, teaching in multiple Universities/ Colleges as an Adjunct Professor (wanted to be free). So far looks like all set for my 60s in another 5 years. Will plan for 70s while in 60s. 😊
That's inspiring! It sounds like you're setting yourself up for a fulfilling and rewarding future. Best of luck as you continue to grow and thrive into your 60s and beyond! 😊
Age stays long enough for anyone who makes it useful.Avoid being dependent on others for your routine personal needs by keeping your environment clean. Keeping a healthy environment will not only allow others also to benefit but will also serve as a personal enjoyable exercise. Cooking, cleaning, gardening taking care of animals are among my favorite daily activities. But, above everything I do, practicing peace in complete silence is the best prescription to start every single day.
Really very good information. I am 62 n am enjoying the peace n quiet . I read a lot. Have adopted 3 Stray Dogs. Have 2 Tom Cats. Feed a lot of Strays outside too. Everyday. They all keep me very active. I go for my daily walks with them. Do all my own household work , no maid servant. Have minor health problems because of Climatic changes. Otherwise fine . Have done a Homoeopathic course conducted by my Doctors n so take care of my minor medical needs. Best medicine without side effects. Financial planning needs to be done again. Doing it in the New Year by taking help of my CA. 😊
This life is but a vapor ! Eternity is forever therefore take care of that and you’ll have everything. Jesus stands ready to forgive you of all your sins and guilt. All you need to do is admit your need of Him and believe in Him! John 14:6 “I Am the way,the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.
@@peterbosson1262 It’s a calling by God to believe. “Many are called; few are chosen.” Maybe you will educate me in the future. Seek and you will find 🙏🏻❤️
The five pillars of strength that you mentioned in your video is very profound and meaningful.... you were spot on in defining what would make our lives positively transformative in our retirement age, Iam 64 and understand the nuances you just mentioned. One pillar that i need to cultivate more is relationships with friends... which I will focus on. My deep gratitude for your wonderful video.
I'm 68 and recently sort of retired. Your advice about these 5 pillars provides me with a useful framework. It reminds me that each of the 5 must be tended to I've taken note. Thank you
very informative for us who are already beginning to start with retirement ..not too late to fulfill all these five pillars for a better and dignified life after 60 and beyond. thank you so much for sharing.
From an active 77 year old.... I'm curious about lots of things and love to watch RUclips travel videos on our big TV, I ride my ebike 20 miles with 2-5 others (oldest is 91) on Tuesdays and Thursdays to a Starbucks and back (might be easier here in California), 30 years ago I bought a Concept 2 rowing machine and still row 2000 meters most days while watching RUclips with earphones on an old laptop, am co-president of the RV club and we get out in our RV at least once a month year round, I volunteer at a local park running the train once a month, am a hike leader with the hiking club....... Stay active and nourish your social circle!!
I am a 66 year old man with no one at all in my Life, I can see changes in people's outlook and I will give anyone younger the following advice, Stay single never be tied down, live your life to the full and enjoy it. Do not let anyone dictate what you should do,and be your own boss do not let anyone earn of your back.
Thank u so much for these valuable messages which inspires me to start living again as I spent 74yrs on this earth loosing all the hope joy n meaning of lífe.
My husband, when in his late seventies went back to school to learn jewelry, (he’s ninety now and I eighty). He spent four years and got his diploma as a jeweler, and was the oldest student in class. He was congratulated personally by the school director on graduation day. He made good young friends there. He always wanted to be a jeweler and accomplished it in his late years! He also volunteers at church and is member of the economical committee. We have some good friends, just a few but good ones. We’re never bored because we get busy doing different things. We keep healthy by eating healthy foods, walking every day and keeping our doctors appointments, going to church. Also financially independent. We are grateful for what we have and thank God daily for His grace, love and mercy.
Thank you for sharing your story! It’s a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late to follow your dreams, and I appreciate the positivity you both bring to the world!
These 5 pillars are good at any age, in fact has worked very well for me through my 20s, 30s, and will keep it going adding a few other dimensions as aging comes on. Don't wait until you're approaching 50 or 60 to build and maintain self sustainable. Also, don't lose connection to family, though not relying on and expecting them to 💯 take care of you in old age. They are vital.
This video is truly meaningful and profound! The pillars you shared are truly a compass for living happily and independently after 60. Thank you, and wishing everyone good health!
Thank you for this video! Truly appreciated! Having a sense of purpose waking up every day and be thankful of what you have will fulfill life and will bring happiness and satisfaction in life! To all of you - continue living a great life!
Pillar 3 is so important. The Spiritual focus I have makes life better. Im Chrisitian and go to a lovely church, but am fascinated by all religions and theologies, not to mention the many wonderful authors and influencers, past and present, to tap into.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled that the content has had such a positive impact on your life. Keep up the great work with the pillars!
For me , past experiences and what I`ve learned from them are my greatest pillar . Who to trust and who not to trust . Experience doesn`t come with qualifications letters after or before my name . Each one of them was its own test to pass . What I`ve learned is so much better than a fat bank account . When I learned to be independent from a pre-teen on living and working in both cities and remote places I did gain much knowledge that I wouldn`t trade .
Resilience is of utmost importance and that comes regular breathing practice. I started yoga at age 65 and now at 72 my emotions and injustices from my children can be handled with grace. I am grateful to Isha foundation for spreading yoga. After years of practicing, the effects will be realized.
Such an insightful video! It’s refreshing to see how important self-reliance and personal growth are in our later years. The Five Pillars concept is so empowering! 🌱💪
Very insightful, I have faced challenges, throughout my life , I will now love myself more, focus more intently, still keep my circle of friends small . Celebrate my little successes, above all ,be grateful to my God , do good at all times .
I am 76+ retired. By listening to this video I found it educative, right to the point and I had to rewind many times to listen. Luckily I have few things in common with the write up . The areas I lack such as going out walking, I hope to improve on it.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It means a lot to know the video resonated with you. Wishing you all the best on your journey to incorporate more walking into your routine!
These 5 are not just pillors but also to recognise as FINGERS for olders. Thanks for enlighting the nacked truths guiding how to spend peaceful life at old age. Some times its very painful even to share with our own sibblings. Old age is a part of sinfull movements in society. Besides wonderful guidelines better to keep active and healthy the God gifted life partners of two hands and two legs till last breath. God bless the olders with better health and prosperty. Jai Hindu.
True enough.. I think I have achieved what I was looking for .. being independent and u have these like sufficient fund, good health, travel, meeting old folks and healthy food. Much better with my beloved wife - someone to share with thoughts, emotions and to chat with.
That's wonderful to hear! Achieving independence and surrounding yourself with supportive pillars is so important, especially at this stage in life. Cheers to you and your wife for building a fulfilling life together!

Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful, insightful video of 5 Pillars in life after 60. I'm so lucky enough to have opened this video which I found very helpful and interesting which will serve as my guide for the year 2025 and the years to come.
I am 60. Your video has helped me to learn more. Out of the 5 pillars, emotional resilience was very important and with meditation I have learned to let go what is disturbing my peace of mind.
I'm so glad to hear that the video resonated with you! Emotional resilience is such a powerful tool, and meditation can truly transform our mindset. Keep up the great work!
key is you need money, our current lives situation very difficult to save money. imagine our bills when you are retired is a question mark for our lives. further than that your advise is really good.
Incredible content! The part at [8:50] where you explain how Stoicism can help us find peace in the present moment was so calming. I’ll definitely be using that advice in my own life."
I am 66 years old, I'm still working as an elected government, I enjoy my life even though I have a brain tumor, hypertension, liver problem and heart problem. My pillars: 1. Praying, going to church every Sunday and trusting what you are praying for that God will answer your prayers and he will give it to you. 2. Don't over think about your illnesses, because it will give loneliness and stress, take your maintenance and follow your doctor's advice. Many died even though they were not sick. 3. Be content with what you have, enjoy life to the fullest, laugh with your friends, sing and dance with them 4. Give time to your family, your children and grandchildren are always in love with you. And bonding time with them sometimes give you happiness. At my age now I'm alive and kicking dispites of my illnesses. I'm enjoying my life.
I'm so glad you found the five pillars helpful! Embracing this new chapter with a solid guide can make all the difference. Cheers to navigating the journey ahead!
Its good as Health Finances are v important It is suggested that this may be taught in Schools so that every on build up and plan from initial practical life.
Some of us have a deep spiritual life without being Christian. You would probably say it’s the only way to peace, but wait isn’t God in charge? I have seen many that profess this belief but sure don’t seem to have ANY peace, but I don’t suggest that there is only one path to God 🙂
@ Then they don’t know God , they haven’t met lord Jesus, Christian who don’t have peace, they pray to Jesus Christ, but in some corner in their lives sin is present, when there is sin in life , Satan will be disturbing the peace, thanks 🙏♥️
I'm almost 74, self reliant, visit 2 groups per week one doing chair yoga. Practice mindfulness, spirituality, gratitude. Younger neighbours can't believe I'm retired and don't look no older than i did when they were 2 years old. I'm still helping young family members financially as needed.
I'm 69. Thank God I have a monthly pension from the government, having been a teacher. I don't have any house ,am not healthy enough to live on my own so I live with my daughter and son who live in different places. I travel once a fortnight to visit both of. My medical bills are taken care of by the government, other expenses I have own money to spend, not a burden to either of my children. I'm able to do my personal hygiene stuff, having a shower, taking my medication correctly, eating, sleeping , resting, communicating with friends and family through WhatsApp and FB. Sometimes, attend get together with childhood friends, college mates and colleagues. I'm enjoying my life although no own house. Live a very simple life, contented with the very little I have, happy n safe until God calls me back. Simple rule is: Believe and trust God to take charge of my life 🙏
I’m 57, and happier than I’ve ever been. My peace comes from the Lord.
That's wonderful to hear! Finding happiness and peace is so important, especially as we approach new chapters in life.
1. Financial independence
2. Health
3. Emotional stability
4. Supported friends or social circles
5. A clear sense of purposes.
Thank You 🥰
That’s my Exwife and we still connect every day. A jewel among other woman
A church and God

I m 57, no grandchildren yet but I keep busy myself running a small school away from the country where my children are in.
I still feel young and think that if i haven't got responsibilities, i will be dependent.
I practice my religion and believe that God is so powerful and that he guides every step of my life.
Hope happiness to all if you!

So true but keeping in touch with family is so important also!
The best way forward.I turned 70 last July and because I scolded one of my children and my wife in anger ordered them out leaving me alone. Your five pillars most helpful. Thanks.

Thank You 🥰
Putting God first above all things really help. Family for me is one of the best thing that happen in my life. Friends come and go. Big difference.
Absolutely! Prioritizing faith and family truly makes a significant difference in our lives. It's the foundation that keeps us grounded.
Have you seen God ??

Old age is the crown of our life and to give credit to it we should be fearless to accept it .
Really very good information.

Jesus stands ready to forgive you of all your sins and guilt. All you need to do is admit your need of Him and believe in Him!

Wonderful advice to the over 60s generation. Love it❤

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's wonderful to see how you embrace each day as a blessing. Your positive mindset is truly inspiring!
They are vital.
thank you 💕
This video is truly meaningful and profound! The pillars you shared are truly a compass for living happily and independently after 60. Thank you, and wishing everyone good health!

Thank you for this valuable lessons.

This is so true and inspiring , May we all help each other in achieving this for everyone around.
Thank you for your kind words! It really means a lot to see such support and encouragement. Let’s keep inspiring each other!
Resilience is of utmost importance and that comes regular breathing practice. I started yoga at age 65 and now at 72 my emotions and injustices from my children can be handled with grace. I am grateful to Isha foundation for spreading yoga. After years of practicing, the effects will be realized.

I am 76+ retired. By listening to this video I found it educative, right to the point and I had to rewind many times to listen. Luckily I have few things in common with the write up . The areas I lack such as going out walking, I hope to improve on it.
That IS good your fault because going out walking IS the easiest tô chance. Just stand UP and Go see the outside. Start with This simple movement

I am 66 years old, I'm still working as an elected government, I enjoy my life even though I have a brain tumor, hypertension, liver problem and heart problem.
My pillars:
1. Praying, going to church every Sunday and trusting what you are praying for that God will answer your prayers and he will give it to you.
2. Don't over think about your illnesses, because it will give loneliness and stress, take your maintenance and follow your doctor's advice. Many died even though they were not sick.
3. Be content with what you have, enjoy life to the fullest, laugh with your friends, sing and dance with them
4. Give time to your family, your children and grandchildren are always in love with you. And bonding time with them sometimes give you happiness. At my age now I'm alive and kicking dispites of my illnesses. I'm enjoying my life.
Your positive outlook on life is truly inspiring! It's amazing how you focus on what truly matters and cherish every moment. Keep shining!

NO PEACE NO JOY WITH OUT JESUS CHRIST 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
Absolutely, Amen.
Jesus is what gives me happiness..everything else is waste...but a bit difficult to practice

Thank you for sharing your journey! Your commitment to mindfulness and helping others is truly commendable, and it shows that age is just a number!
Simple rule is: Believe and trust God to take charge of my life 🙏
Thanks 🥰❤️
