  • Harsha Bhogle ace TV commentator in a lecture at IIM (A) ,very nicely points out that passion to perform ,commitment and practice are far more important than talent alone.

Vinod Kambi still holds the record for the fasted 1000 runs in test cricket, though he played his last test when he was only 23 yrs old. The way Harsha put it, people would think Vinod shied away from playing tests as he did not know to play Walsh, which nit true.
BBCI did not allow him to play test because they branded him as a 'one day specialist' and denied him opportunities. They couldn't come to terms with how he enjoyed life. So he was given a harsh treatment when some of his counterparts were always assured of a spot in the team even when they were out form for long periods.
In ODIs he was made to come in at 6th or 7th position. This meant he got a chance to bat only at slog overs or he was under immense pressure when the top order crumbled.

Don't agree with you. He was vulnerable with the bouncing ball. He was good in sub continent to certain extent. His behavior and attitude was very bad. He could not handle success. He did not work hard. He did not make good use of talent.

I think 'Approach' is more appropriate word than 'Attitude'
& Passion is what matters most
& of course rest part please..??
