Hi Ben! Thank you for always giving us helpful and brilliant videos! I would like to ask a question. Could “Carrying something off” mean the same with “get something out of it”?
Mr. Benjamin, I'm so glad to see you again, safe and sound! An excellent lesson, I'm most grafeful! By the way, may I have a question? Is it acceptable in English ( both writing and speaking) to use latin phrases, such as: ad rem, sine qua non, lege artis, modus operandi, etc.? When it comes to my first language not only is it grammatically correct, but also strongly recommeded as usage of latin words makes one's dictum posh and sophisticated. Is it cognately in English? Thanks in advance for your answer. Stay safe and healthy!
It depends on the context. Out of the examples you gave, only 'modus operandi' would be understood by some people. I'll try and make a video on that at some point. Lawyers use it for certain terms, plants have Latin names but generally speaking, keep it to a minimum.

Hi Ben! Thank you for always giving us helpful and brilliant videos!
I would like to ask a question.
Could “Carrying something off” mean the same with “get something out of it”?
No - if you carry something off, you manage to complete a difficult challenge. If you get something out of something then you derive benefit from it.

Benjamin, where in Britain is your accent from?
South. This may shed more light: www.engvid.com/the-rp-english-accent/
Thank you very much for your reply
I reckon Benjamin is a stage actor, from his body postures being so beautiful.
I'm not a ballet dancer!
@@engvidBenjamin your movement is well trained, rather professional! lol
@@engvidBenjamin I meant an actor of a living stage drama or play, not a ballet dancer of course... So, 'beautiful' sounds not quite suitable?
Best
Glad you like it
