Ok, so first and foremost did no one read that it says “pre-braid removal”🤔? I do this to mine and my daughters hair sometimes. When the scalp is irritated I be wanting to go ham with rubbing/scratching it but that can cause serious tangling at the root, and if you have someone who is tender headed tangling the hair ups makes it worse for them. The hair has already been detangled before braiding, so doing this helps keep the roots detangled. But abreast anyway I’m not going to write a long break down off the process.
I would just like to make a couple of suggestions though.
1. Do whatever works for you, thank you for sharing, take all the positive feedback and ignore everything else.
2. Stop allowing so much product to get put in your hair and on your scalp. Your scalp is irritated because that stuff does not belong on your scalp.
2. Let the shampoo sit on the scalp for 10 or 15 minutes. It gives it time to really deal with the irritation.

@@Star-IDV I have thick type 4 hair, and Camille Rose products are works for me best. I've tried Cantu, Shea, Mielle, Carol's, etc. and none of them have worked as good for me as the Camille.

That's why I start washing my braids on like the second or third week.. feels amazing and keeps away all the buildup when I finally take them out

I had someone do this on 3 month+ old weave cornrows, it was the most awful thing I had to do when it comes to hair. It took 3 hours to detangle the matted cornrows. Her hair was still kinda dirty (had to be washed again) and then I had to put weave in it again. I knew I was never going to do hair for a job. 😒

For all y’all dealing with itch y’all should get a scalp cream. I got the shea moisture one and it honestly changed my life no cappp. I mainly use it when I have braids/twists in and it makes them last way longer cuz my scalp ain’t burning 😩😭

anybody that has a problem with him washing his hair before taking the braid out clearly doesn’t understand that shampooing should be directed at the scalp and not the hair strands; therefore, shampooing before taking out braids is optimal as the follicles are contained and not blocking pores. you want to condition and treat your strands not directly shampoo them)
Looks like a good idea but wetting your hair before detangling can cause some serious matting depending on how much shed hair is trapped in the braids 💕

@@giashanti a common misconception…but hair is actually at its weakest state when wet. Look into the science of hydrogen bonds vs protein bonds of hair to get more credible information since I am by no means a professional. Just a hair skin and part time nail enthusiast sharing some things I’ve learned 💕 Either way start from the ends and be gentle 🥰
@@nitabellavita3239 when dry the hair is brittle when wet it is weak. you are supposed to detangle on damp hair but there really is no right or wrong way just preference and what works best for you

Thats why I stop getting cornrolls or any braids over the scalp. That shit will just dry your head out crazy and the oils will cause buildup easily. I only fuck with 2 strand twists- they can itch too, but its more tolerable than braids.

Whatever works for him. As someone who always had a lot of hair, I prefer to wash my hair once my hair is completely taken down. Then I do my pretreatments, wash and condition it. But again, everybody’s prep is different.

Was this to help your scalp and refresh the braids or did you just take them out right after? If you took them out right after, why not just take them out then wash so everything gets clean yk? 🤷🏽♀️
because thats the point of a pre wash.. so that you can focus on your designated area, in this case his scalp. Its to free up the roots lol its not for the purpose of cleaning everything

Idk whyyyy. I personally would take the braids out, then wash. I feel like washing in cornrows isn’t gonna make all of your head clean.
Because of how his hair is styled he has ample access to his scalp so he can really get all up in there before he actually washes his hair. This way he clean and soothe an irritated scalp before he washes the rest of his head.

Well I think for him it’s easier to take down. I remember I had a hard time taking a braid out and after I showered I was able to take it down easier. But still that was just one time. I normally take mine out before washing. Maybe after he takes his braids down, he rewashes them.
