To each his own but I think some of the stuff we practice with our hair is anti-black. The whole concept of women having laid edges and men cutting and lining up their edges is wrapped up in a lot of anti-blackness dealing with our shame for our natural hair textures. I'm the token white boy from the projects. Never had braids or long hair at that cause I grew up in fla. I finally grew my hair out and just got 4 rows. My home girl did it for me. I love having them so much, now idk if I'll ever cut my hair? Thank you for the tips! My homies also had short hair mostly cause of the damn heat in South Florida. Yea y’all can do this of course, but if you have box braids and they already messed up, just get a lineup. Trust me females love the raggedy ass look with a fresh line up.
I have super nappy hair but can someone tell me why it breaks off so much when I take my braids down? I can tell it’s growing because when I rebraid them it’s longer. But I feel I’m losing lots of growth. What can I do do maintain this growth?
Are you sure it's breakage? It might be shed hair, 100-150 strands of our hair sheds daily, and when you braid your hair the shed hair can't go anywhere so it accumulates untill you take your braids out. Shed strands are usually as long as the hair on your head and if you look closely at one end there's a tiny white bulb. Breakage is usually shorter pieces of hair with no bulb.
Just realized that this is pretty common sense. But you don't know what you dont know?!? Thanks for the help! I stay with the du rag on unless I'm going out. Lol
Caps lol I'm collecting more because I look so cute in my cornrows with a cap on🥰 When my last set of cornrows got too frizzy I'd just slap a cap on. Put in a new set of rows today and made them smaller than the last ones. Hopefully that helps fight the frizz😭
Okay Ik the durag and silk pillow case are the bread and butter to no frizz but can someone plz tell me how to keep my hang time From bending at night. Ik some of u guys know what I’m talking about
Nothing u can do bout it unless u tie them in a ponytail like nipsey. But if u want all your braids out. What I do is have your durag on in the shower let hot water hit the back of your neck. Then blow dry them..When u blow dry them pull them down at the same time

I don’t see nobody talk about this but I just got my cornrows done and they looking fresh, but I got long hair and the drop at the back is so stiff, it don’t shake or nothing, any tips?
