Depends on your hair type if you have nappy hair then you need at least 2 inches to get braids But if you have straight hair or slick curly hair then you need at least 6 or 7 inches to get braids

No idea you could braid it at 2 inches although his hair still looks slightly longer. I want to get stitch back braids now my hair is about 4 inches in most places when I pull it down from the scalp!
