Should have clarified beyond mentioning it was the largest. That's Ohio State University. Coffee shops here tend to offer artists a venue for their work. Be that writing, painting, or performance art. Not always, but most nights you can hear live music in these joints. Believe or not, they do this while serving excellent house coffee. The ones that don't, well they succumb to starbucks. You should check one of these artsy fartsy shops out, they might broaden your appreciation.
Are the people in the cafe told to act as if nothing is happening? Or do they just hate music?

In french indie cafes and such I presume live music is common place.
Pyrantula Exactly, Paris is filled with artists doing their thing at all times. Live music in bars and cafés and even some restaurants is a real thing, so people from Paris kind of shield themselves after awhile... 'cause these artists tend to be all up in your face and a lot of people don't like it.

I really like that randomly little kids will pop up in the video, their getting a taste of purely amazing music at a young age,,this is the shit they should be influenced by, not women & men falunting/selling their bodies on stage lacking real talent and teaching vanity and money hunger

i first heard of aloe blacc through these take away show videos, and i was quite disappointed finding out that the original songs aren't played acousticly, and they all kindof have electronic stuff in it. blogotheque is how music should sound.
This is just so amazing.
But that is what is all about: whatever you're doing, take just five minutes to admire pure beauty. After all it's a coffee, they're not in a hospital interrupting surgery ;)
