    Excellent video, exactly what I was looking for and needed. I got crazy long legs and arms even for my height (6'3"), as well as a relatively short torso; I've always struggled with getting fully comfortable at my desk. Thank you very much.

    Deepak's multifunction chair has forward seat tilt capability! Please let him know if he is not aware!

    this helps a lot, thank you for making this. i have always wondered why i couldnt sit comfortably with my arms at a 90 to the desk, my upper arms are too long. it is a simple thing but i somehow never thought of why i have always had this issue

    Same problem. No solution and have a hard time finding a chair that allows for a forward seat tilt.
    So far only solutions are using a standing desk, using a kneel/squat desk, or using a cushion to give that tilt to a regular chair.

    Thank you!
    Would it be another possible solution, if he would use an adjustable keyboard tray and place it right above his thighs?

      This wouldn't help much, unfortunately. What I mean with desk height is actually keyboard height. A keyboard tray would still hit his thighs, you see what I mean?

    From what I can see in the picture where he's sitting in front of the screen he uses a second monitor in the lower right corner of the photo. He seems to not look at the standing desk monitor. And from that point of view his vision towards the lower screen while sitting at the desk seems perfectly fine to me - maybe a bit low even. I think you misunderstood the picture here. Because I think he uses 1 monitor when sitting and another one that is permanently set up for standing up. Probably mirroring the screen pictures at the same time. ;)

    does forward seat tilt cause the same strain on the legs as a saddle chair when used for hours

    Didn’t know you have the freefloat version of the plus!

    • @OlivierGirard
      @OlivierGirard  5 месяцев назад +2

      I don't 😀... the freefloat is Plus 6 whilst I have Plus 8. But the 8784 has this forward tilt adjustment function, which is sometimes quite handy!!

      Now I’m really confused! I have the 8784 but I don’t see how to tilt the seat pan! With the chair unlocked, it doesn’t feel like you can tilt it

      Nevermind, turns out I just needed to push harder. Thank you!!

      So I just gave you 2 things for free: a forward tilt function, and big arms 😂

    Dear Olivier
    (sorry for the long comment 😔)
    I have been having left rhomboid around area painful as if internally feeling injured.. from 2020.. after some heavy luggage lift or improper workouts by a stupid trainer.. no scapula winging but left scapula grinds and gives dislocation move when hands up &down on lying down position and when hand reaches front..
    along with all physio and medications, massages made it worse. working from home and hands being on elongated position for mouse holding made it worse. from 2022 May there was SHOOTING SHOCK on right cervical-trapezius junction!
    I stopped massage and took control of posture correction and listening to body seriously as 11 doctors, chiropractors,physio, cortisol injection couldnt help and MRI showed no root compression.
    As i realized right trapezius lost strength and cant lift hands up for lifting anything which gives inneidtae nerve shock and very very painful, I researched and learned to activate lat, seratus anterior and rhomboid and trap mobilities and strengthening. the shock reduced in 2023 end but Not complete Recovery
    left rhomboid still grinding (though chest pain and bending down didnt give mid back pain) and painful and right cervical trapezius jun gives shock. As i was doing rhomboid shortening exercise with scapulas together and posterior tilt which helped for left but now right rhomboid is having severe pain with tightness from neck to trap.
    in summary left scapula grinding and rhomboid pain and right cervical shock with trap and mid pain making my life horrible and feels no use in living in pain. Unfortunately nobody understands this pain as they say its just manageable.
    I trust you will help with proper reply on this .
    have a sliding keyboard shelf under my desk
    and monitor to take care of posture.
    I have gone through below videos of you and implemented them along with dumbbells strengthening like shoulder shrug , overhead press etc.

    really regret finding your channel this late.. already spent some money on a high budget chair but realized its not suitable for my height- am 5'5", was looking for a lumbar support cushion, its high back chair so wanted your advice whether is should get a lumbar cushion same as you shared in your videos or the large ones, the full backrest cushions which provides support from lumbar to shoulder

      @OlivierGirard  5 месяцев назад

      Have a look at this video on high vs low backrest: ruclips.net/video/SfGQXZH02T0/видео.html. Regarding cushions: I think they are a great quick fix (e.g., I use them for my dining chairs) but not for intensive use such as your work chair. At least not if you have the budget to get a proper chair, be it 2nd hand.

      @@OlivierGirard i had watched that video along with most of your video covering your topic.. went with the lumbar cushion that looks most similar to the one you used most often.. but i plan on using it for even intensive work though.. since most chairs have a depth of 45 cms.. even the one i bought a few weeks ago.. just to make the depth more suitable i plan on using it, as mentioned in one of your videos..

      I have a close relationship with Kinnarps, and also with Tergon (a local brand in Switzerland). But it's always tricky to get too associated with one manufacturer: it may biais your expertise, or the perception thereof...
