I had a frozen shoulder which started in February 2021 in my left shoulder. It started with spontaneous, sharp pains which spread down my left arm. Whilst the pain wasn't severe, it was sharp. I didn't have pain all the time and I only had the pain/freezing stage for about a month/6 weeks. I went to see a physio and did stretching exercizes which helped. I was in the thawed stage for about 8 to 10 months I would say. I play a lot of tennis and I think playing tennis and staying active helped me. My shoulder started thawing out during 2022 and I think by summer 2022, I had recovered 80% of my mobility in my left shoulder. Fast forward to December 2023 and my left shoulder is fine now. The only slight restriction is external shoulder rotation which hasn't fully returned to normal yet but I'm 95% there. Hopefully by next spring, it will be 100%. If you're suffering from frozen shoulder here are some tips. 1) See a physio as they were very helpful. 2) Stretch every day. Especially your affected shoulder. 3) Stay fit and active. 4) Definitely eat healthy and becareful about consuming too much sugar or carbs. High blood sugar levels cause inflammation and joints in the body can crystalize. 5) Get plenty of sleep and water. 6) Stretch out your back daily especially mid back as a stiff mid back can cause poor posture and stiffness. 7) Try not to worry. Whilst a frozen shoulder is highly annoying, if you stretch, keep active and you lead a healthy lifestyle, you will get 90 to 100% of your shoulder mobility back. You just have to be patient about the recovery process. But the healthier and fitter you are, the faster your recovery. I hope this helps👍
Thanks for the tips my friend. Hope your shoulder is good now 100%. And I hope my shoulder will be healed because I can't sleep and its so hard even if to hug my kids. I am 41 and I am in pain since March 2023. I have seen many doctors.. Unfortunately nothing. They do not care. They only say "surgery"... The first dr told me that it is tendon rupture and he treat me with sock wave. No results..... The second told me is because of my C6-C7 neck issue, he told me to stop gym and exercises (for more than 3 months) and he treated me with injections.. After the injections told me about surgery. The other one told me that its probably be my shoulder and I have to do an new MRT... I am confused. I have gone to 3 physio, also nothing... I have gone also to chiropractic, nothing also... I am alone and I am trying to find solution through internet. I do stretches everyday, but sometimes the pain is huge after the stretches, even if I do not press a lot...
Thanks for your comment. I recently got frozen shoulder from what seemed to be a trauma in the shoulder caused by falling elbow first into the ground. It's been 5-6 weeks and I believe the freezing phase has just stopped recently as the sudden sharp pain went away unless I try to stretch my shoulder beyond a certain point. I really want to get back to physical activities really bad and trying to do home therapy every day in hopes of thawing the muscle sooner.
great tips. I have a question. I stretch out my mid back and tspine often due to having arthritis in my tspine since my 30s but now that my shoulder is frozen i cannot do the stretches i normally do. I cannot stretch my lats or tspine due to no range of motion in the shoulder. What are the mid back stretches you can do that you refer to please?
@@nastynate4481 I just use a foam roller and position the roller mid way up my back and stretch backwards over it whilst lifting my chest up which opens the chest, ribs and mid/thoracic spine. Dont force yourself backwards. Only stretch as far back as you are able.
I had spontaneous onset in my left arm about 4 years ago. When I went to the orthopedist, he coldly said, "You have adhesive capulitis, it will take 3 years to heal and there's nothing you can do about it." In spite of physical therapy and weekly massage, it did take 3 years to heal and now it is slowly starting in my right arm. I desperately do not want to suffer through this pain again, I am a sign language interpreter and interpreting exacerbates the pain and inflammation. I did see two other orthopedists and eventually got cortisone shots that helped temporarily but your video has given me more information than all three doctors and two physical therapists could not give me. More importantly, it's given me hope for what has been a horribly painful and emotional experience that I don't want to repeat. Thank you for your informative and helpful video!
Hi Shannon, I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder. While I can't say there is anything that will prevent a frozen shoulder developing, what I will say is that the more you can do the greater your chances. So by this I mean, regular stretching, moving and strengthening, eating very healthy and sleeping well. I wish you the best and I hope it doesn't develop further. Best wishes, Ashley
Omg im a 49 year old male who has lived with this for 3 years chronic pain is to say the least ive had xrays mri and cat scan they told me i have nerve damage in neck ive begged and pleaded its in my shoulder i serious say this video has saved my life thank you so much
You're most welcome. I'm glad the video was able to shed light on your frozen shoulder cause. Have you tried any of the stretches yet? Please keep me posted on your progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
This is probably the best frozen shoulder explainer I have seen. I have just been diagnosed and unfortunately both of my shoulders are affected but one is much more painful. Your description of the pain radiating into the upper arm, trapezius and neck is exactly what I am experiencing with my left shoulder right now. I have a good physio ho has prescribed some basic stretches to begin with very similar to yours but using some bands instead of the stick to start to regain some range of motion. I am hopeful of seeing some progress soon, in fact my right shoulder is already mildly improved after just one session and a week of slow careful stretches. It is a horrible condition and I wish all fellow sufferers well.
This video is exemplary and should be showed at conferences and universities. You should sell it for educational purposes. God bless you for sharing this knowledge.
Thank you Monique I appreciate your comment very much. All I care about is that it has helped you and continues to help others! If there's anything else you would like me to do a video on please let me know. Best wishes, Ashley
I simply have to thank you for this video. I have been suffering from a frozen shoulder for the past eight months and seeing someone explaining so well the exact symptoms of what I have been experiencing was almost emotionally overwhelming. I have started physiotherapy and in just nine sessions I have recovered more that 95% of my initial arm mobility, although residual pain still exists. Most of the exercises I've done were presented here, yet I have to mention that contrary to this somehow milder approach, I went for the contrary and aggressively pushed through the pain. If I may humbly offer a piece of advice to all sufferers out there...please don't doubt this will pass. Trust your medic/therapist, believe in yourselves, and fight the pain to your best ability.
@@kamakirinoko glad to hear it's gone! Mine comes and goes and it's locked up again. Cant lift my arm without that pain. Tell me... were you doing exercises (stretching or otherwise) while your shoulder was frozen or did you just wait it out?
I was diagnosed today with frozen shoulder (that supposedly started as shoulder impingement) and kind of find comfort to read the exact symptoms I have…but it seems like it will take forever to heal…this is so depressing 😞
I am diabetic fr last one year nd suffering from left shoulder pain .after watching this video i gained confidence of getter better .i m surely be practising the exercise u explained in video .i hve never seen such a useful video .Thnks a lot fr this
Now i understand whats happening to me.2 weeks ago my right arm always in pain..I cant put on my bra its so painful. I had 2 sessions of physical therapy but the pain still there..now i understand it needs time before healing. Thank you for this wonderful and well explained video. May God bless you more. You helped a lot of people. Congratulations
I have watched tens of videos about the 'frozen shoulder' syndrome. This is the most comprehensive video in terms of explanation, diagnosis, and treatment exercises.
Agreed. Thank you for taking the time to discuss longer term stretching and appropriate pain stop points. I've been stretching into the pain as much as i could tolerate... Will try less pain longer stretches
Just amazing and straight to the point. I forgot how it feels to listen to genuine knowledge and experience based content. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
You're most welcome! I'm so glad to hear the video was insightful. Please do let me know if you try the exercises. Wishing you speedy recovery. Best wishes, Ashley.
I love the speed that you go, you don't go too fast and it gives a chance for the information to sink in. You're thorough and explain the purpose for each thing that you're talking about. Perfect! I commented on your other video a few minutes ago and after watching this I'm convinced I have Frozen shoulder. I ticked off all the boxes for all the symptoms that you said and I can barely even lift my arm in any direction. However, I just tried a couple of the stretches and it's the best I felt in 2 days. I did not sleep well at all last night and was in tears a couple of times. You're absolutely right that it's worse at night. Why is that? Thanks again and I'm going to continue watching this and do a couple more stretches.
You are a Godsend! My doctor told me I have Frozen shoulders and it will heal with time. Told me to take Tylenol for the pain and sent me home. I’m so grateful I found your channel. I did the exercises with you and already feeling less pain. I will keep up! Thank you for such an eloquent and helpful video. Wishing you a world of blessings! Thank you again☺️🙏☺️

I have been a physio for over 20 years and working with frozen shoulders is always frustrating. Some of your exercises were new to me. I really appreciated this video.
Hey Veronique, You're most welcome! Really glad to hear the video was helpful and that you learned something new. Very informative and useful information for anyone who has, or has had, this type of injury. As you know, this happened to me about 7 years ago. A recent reply from you brought me to this video, so thank you for that. For others here, and for you to add comment if you like, I will summarise a bit of my experience below: Basically, the three stages as you described are exactly what happened. When I went to my GP he immediately diagnosed the problem, as the symptoms are quite obvious. The GP's solution was as follows: 1. 600mg Ibuprophen 3 times a day for a month. (I did it for a week, it only took the edge off the pain and made my stomach hurt, so I stopped taking it). 2. I was given some very basic stretching exercises: walking my hand up and down the wall, that was it. It helped improve mobility temporarily, but was painful to do. 3. After a month of worsening pain and lack if mobility, he then suggested steroid injections. At that point I stopped going to the doctor and sought help from a physiotherapist. She recommended a series of weekly treatments for several months, then monthly for a further 14 months which I can only describe as absolute agony, but she did restore the mobility gradually and help me make an almost complete recovery over 2 years. Ok, shortly after developing the symptoms I met a Harley Street eye surgeon who told me he had the same injury, perhaps at the early stages compared to mine. He opted for a more severe, but rapid treatment. (Which my physiotherapist thought would have been too risky in my case). Basically, he underwent full anesthesia so his arm could be whipped round and stretched in every direction to break up the "scar tissue" that was trapping and restricting mobility and causing pain in the shoulder joint. He said that once the scar tissue is removed in this way it then naturally dissolves in the body! The result was within 2 days he had completely restored mobility to his shoulder, although it was a bit sore for a week, but that was is it, cured! I suggest that this particular remedy requires a careful medical examination before undertaking such an option. More experience: while travelling in Kerala, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity for a ayurvedic massage treatment in a local ayurvedic hospital in Kochin. They did amazing massage and manipulation of my injured shoulder and restored mobility noticeably, however it didn't last long - but it did help me to enjoy my time there more! The specialists there told me that I would need about 2 to 3 weeks of daily treatments to cure the condition, which unfortunately I wasn't able to do at the time. I hope my experiences with frozen shoulder may help others here reading this comment and watching the video.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience Mark. I'm really glad to hear the video was helpful. I hope you continue to make improvements. Let me know how you get on. Best wishes, Ashley.
When I got the diagnosis, I dove into all sorts of anatomy videos and thought I knew it all. Then in starting your video I expected to tune out part of the way through. You presented the material in a different manner covering different areas and causes of Frozen shoulder and I stuck all the way through it. Very thoroughly presented and I learned plenty through it. I am now searching for a "broomstick" so I can quickly get back to normal.
That's great to hear Cayrick! You're welcome. I'm happy that the video has given you a different perspective on this. Please do keep me posted on your progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
I have had Frozen Shoulder for 5 months, have started PT, which is helping... and I LOVED this video, thank you for taking the time to explain in all detail, everything, very informative and I re watch for your exercises several times a week. Everyone diagnosed with Frozen shoulder, should be given this video to watch!!!!! Wonderful from beginning to end, THANK YOU!!!!!!
Ive had mine for about 6 months now. Was unable to get to see an orthopedic doctor for the first 4 months due to the lockdown situation in Manila Philippines. Saw a doctor, and then did a follow up physical therapy course of 12 sessions. There was good improvement after that ( plus continued doing daily excercise ) but then some of the stiffness returned. I was planning to see the doc again when I thought I would try using the heat pad several times a day just to see if it helped. Its made a big difference and so now I exercise and use the heat pad at least 4 or 5 times a day. The discomfort is still there on occasions, and I wake up evey night with various twinges and pain spurts but overall its something that I can live with. T his video is one of the best on this subject that I have seen and Im sure like many of the commenters here, weve all seen PLENTY of "frozen shoulder videos".
Hi Martyn thank you for your lovely comment, I'm pleased you liked the video. I'm even more pleased to hear that your shoulder has improved considerably which shows that your persistance and consistency has paid off. Good luck getting your shoulder back to "normal". Best wishes, Ashley
This is the most informative and expertly presented video I have seen on this painful condition. Congratulations and thank you for a lot of helpful advice.
It was such a great explanation! Thank you ! I would appreciate so much a video where you could explain impingement compared to frozen shoulder , I have been diagnosed by two doctors two different results.. I think I do have a frozen shoulder especially after your great video .. but I would love to hear and learn so clearly about impingement as well . Thank you so much again for your help!
The most beneficial video I have seen for a frozen shoulder! The explanations for the exercises were clear and well demonstrated. Well done! Thank you!
Good luck carla. I 💚💚 I've heard that the hardest thing is the editing etc. Can take some time. I bet you will have a brilliant time ...would love to know how it goes.
I agree!! Thank you for the clarity in your explanations, directions and demonstrations...my hubby is suffering from this issue. I.will share it with him as it very easy to understand and motivating to take better care of the body. I'll let you know how he heals...thank you again.
Hi Dina. Happy to hear that you found the video easy to understand. I hope that the exercises helped your husband? Please let me know how it has been going. Best wishes, Ashley.
Thank you Joe I appreciate that! I agree, it is very difficult to get the time to create informative content for patients. But I hope this helps your patients too. Best wishes, Ashley
I've been suffering with a pain in my right shoulder for the past eleven months and MRI showed a minor rotator cuff tear. My orthopedic suggested a steroid injection to reduce the inflammation and pain and it seems to be working. He wasn't concrete about if I have a frozen shoulder or not but after watching your video, I'm positive I'm suffering from a frozen shoulder. It pains me to do every movements you've showed in your video! I've watched and mimicked other RUclips exercises but never got any relief nor did I feel better. Your exercises seem very beneficial and although I only tried them once today, I can feel my shoulder muscle being stretched...it felt good! I felt as if you've made this video just for me. lol So a Big Thank You for making this video! I only wish I came across your video much sooner. Stay well!
Hi Jessica, This is all great to hear! You're absolutely welcome! Keep at the exercises and in no time you'll be good. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Best wishes, Ashley.
I fell and hurt my shoulder a few months ago. It's taken me 5 months to get into my ortho who just diagnosed me with this. I was so happy to hear it wasn't rotator cuff and probably no surgery. Your descriptions are exactly what I'm experiencing. I start PT next week and I'm really hopeful. Thanks for such a thorough and relatable expalanation.
Hey Amy, glad to hear you found the video helpful. I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder injury. It's great that you managed to get it checked out. PT is really helpful for relieving the pain your experiencing. Please do let me know how it goes.
Best explanations and exercises on the frozen shoulder out there. Many thanks. I've been doing the exercises only for a few days and my right shoulder feel far better and not that painful anymore. Thank you.
I just was diagnosed w frozen shoulder after 3 months of pain. I’m so reassured by your video knowing I’m in good hands with my PT who has also recommended many of the stretches you covered. I am hopeful to have full range of motion. Thanks so much for the clear explanations.
You're absolutely welcome Jaki! Its great to hear that you have a competent PT helping you through the recovery. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll make a full recovery in no time. Feel free to keep me posted on your progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
In July'20 my shoulder froze up and my orthopedist confirmed it was due to a bone spur. Took about a year for my shoulder to start to unfreeze...with the help of this video and one other video I found on RUclips. SO helpful! My shoulder is still slightly frozen, but so much better. I was worried it would never get better or somewhat better!!
Hi Julie, I'm so glad to hear the video has been helpful for you. Frozen shoulder can be a real problem and it may take months to unfreeze but keep at it! I'd love to hear how you progress. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Best wishes, Ashley.
You are AMAZING! I am a student of Physiotherapy in the Netherlands. You explain in a way that is easy for a person with non or basic knowledge of the anatomy/physiology to follow. As a student myself, I was really engaged throughout the whole explanation. Well done!
The video is rigorous and informative, with sufficient research support. The method in the video is very effective, and I came to leave a comment after trying it for years. The author has helped countless people through the video, and I think this video should be awarded.
I have been suffering from a frozen shoulder for a few weeks. I have trouble putting on my jacket and lifting my arm. I came across your video and started doing your exercises for just two days and I already feel instant relief. I will keep doing these exercises everyday! Thank you so much for this video.
Now fully recovered from frozen shoulders. The right shoulder first, then later, the left. I discovered by accident that squeezing a firm stress ball in the hand of the affected arm gave some pain relief and sped up the thawing process. I could really feel things unsticking around the shoulder. Consequently, as the left shoulder started to freeze I began the stressball squeezing immediately and it thawed out in half the time of the first episode.
I just had surgery 14 days ago. I believe I am on my frozen stage. I cannot make a lot of movement. I’m glad that I read this comment. I thought this is how my arm was going to be forever. I will begin using a stress ball.
Do you think stress ball will help on frozen stage? I am getting desperate and frustrated. Thanked GOD i saw this video and starting tomorrow I will do his stretches and I hope it will help me to get back on my mobility.

Im 73 years young (!) recovering from surgery for broken humerous. Im now 6 weeks out from surgery and ive been seeing a physical therapist and doing prescribed exercises for 3-4 weeks now. Saw my surgeon yesterday he told me i need to step up my exercise routines to avoid stiffness in my shoulder. I watched your video this morning and will start implementing many of your exercises. Thank you for sharing your expertise. So much appreciated.
Excellent, clear, concise content with no filler! I have frozen shoulder in both shoulders at the same time. It is extremely painful, impossible to sleep with, and causes many basic functions to be very difficult to perform. The pain has also spread from my shoulder down to my elbow on my dominant side. This is the best content and explanation that I have seen about frozen shoulder anywhere! I loved the anatomy section. It is the clearest, most comprehensive description of what is actually happening within the shoulder. Thank you for this video!!!
Thank you for this video!! I’ve been struggling with frozen shoulder a couple of months now. I believe I’m at “freezing” stage, very painful. My daughter has been doing deep tissue massage for the area and I incorporated these exercises yesterday and felt a significant improvement with my range of motion. Perfectly explained in a simplified manner. My left shoulder is the affected one. I will definitely try these exercises to improve mobility from my current 30% to 100%. Thanks for mentioning to perform these exercises in a pain free way.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this! My Aunt and Dad recently had their shoulder replacement surgery. These symptoms you teach are exactly what I began experiencing two weeks ago. I started doing the stretches along with you as you're teaching them. As a nurse, I Raju appreciate the A/P with the shoulder models. The tips of using towels, pillows, etc. to prevent further injury and prolong the stretch were also very helpful. Thank you, this is AWESOME!
Outstanding video on this debilitating condition. I love the time references at the beginning, making specific sections easy to find when returning to the video. Stretching combined with muscle releasing pressure point manipulation brought me incredible relief in just 2 days. Thank you.
I'm glad I came across your video. I injured my right shoulder through boxing. Now I know I have a frozen shoulder, and some of the exercises were very helpful. After doing some of them my shoulder range has improved thanks to you, but I still have to be careful.
It's a miracle I found this! I cannot, I repeat, cannot wait months or years to get over this. I'm right handed and need my right arm for everything including driving. Excellent video. Finally someone who is straight to the point and actually understands frozen shoulder. The exercises were great! Too many other 'experts' demonstrate exercises that aren't specific to frozen shoulder and just show some generic shoulder stretches without really understanding the anatomy of the shoulder. You clearly know what you are talking about and apply the principles of movement that are specific to the injury. Thankyou.

I want to thank you so much for this video! I have been dealing with a very painful frozen shoulder for several months and I've been doing exercises based on the principles you explain here for the past few days and I've already seen a significant increase in my range of motion! A few days ago I couldn't lift my arm past parallel and this morning after doing the exercises I was able to reach my arm all the way over above my head. It's still a bit painful but I can imagine if I'm consistent with these exercises throughout the day, before long I'll be able to be pain-free and have restored my full function again.
Diagnosed last week with frozen shoulder - so upset as I've been super healthy/athletic/strong my whole life! Very humbling. Have watched tons of videos, this is so helpful, did my first sets tonight. Meeting with PT later this week to get on program with them, and will incorporate these at home. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery - thank you for this content!
I feel your pain, literally and figuratively. I’ve always been active and for this to happen out of the blue breaks my heart. Not to mention I’m not even in the 40-65 years age range 😞
Thanks for sharing this video! I am a 62 year-old man and have been dealing with frozen shoulder for several months. I have had physical therapy which helped somewhat. Even though I consulted with a physician I wasn't truly informed as to the physio side of the condition. And while I have continued at times to replicate the stretches advised by the physical therapist I realize that I need to do them more often. The stretches you recommended are really easy to perform and I plan to work harder at repairing myself.

Thank you for this miracle video, after just one exercise with an improvised ball from an avocado seed wrapped in foil (Couldn't wait until the morning to get a real ball), my pain level in the shoulder decreased from a 7 to a 1 in under 5 minutes. I can't thank you enough!
I appreciate this so much, i've been dealing with this condition for nearly two years being only 20 years old. My physical therapist had always told me to stretch through pain, which in the long run only made it worse, and because it was so uncomfortable, I wasn't very motivated to keep going. But these exercises are actually working so thank you. These videos really help, keep it up.
I have a frozen shoulder for the last 6 months. The pain and limitation of ROM affecting my quality of daily life. This is very helpful to me. Thanks for the simple explanation and the exercises.

Great explanation too of what a frozen shoulder by showing us how the shoulder area works. Thanks again! Keep up the great work! 😁👍
Absolutely wonderful. Great background info -- easily understood and all stretches felt really spot on. I should have watched this MONTHS ago. I would be in MUCH better situation. Really really good (and I am fussy about my health-information consumption).
Thank you for this video. As someone who is currently going through a second frozen shoulder ( first left and now right) I can honestly say it is hard to get quality information on the subject. This video pulled together all the important topics and was informative and functional. Excellent work.
You're absolutely welcome Josephine! I'm truly glad you found the video informative. What phase are you in now and what have you been doing to treat it? Please let me know. Best wishes, Ashley.
Excellent. I just started your exercises today and am already feeling some relief. Your video is clear and precise. Keep up the great presentations. You will be able to help a lot of people. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you found the video clear and informative. I hope you continue making good progress with your shoulder. Best wishes, Ashley
thanks for that simple but informative description. I have learned more about my FS in this short time watching that clip than with hours spent with physiotherapist and doctors who just don't seem to understand it. thankyou
Dealing with a frozen shoulder. Work with a physical therapist. It is a long process. Your videos about shoulder pain and frozen shoulder are very helpful in understanding the anatomy of the problem. Also appreciate your tip about diet, sleep, and general health. Can you talk about cold and hot compresses? When and how much is helpful?
I'm a newbie here and I find this vi8very helpful. Can you please do a video about how to rest better at night without having to take pain pills? Thank you!
Good points there. I recommend cold compresses for when an area is inflamed, hot and painful (like a 7 or more out of 10). I recommend heat for when the area is tight, restricted and not too painful. I hope that helps. Best wishes, Ashley
@@victoriaalvin2446 Some support for the arm with extra pillows help me a bit with this problem. You may need to try out a few positions before you find what works best for you.
Thank you so much. Laying on my back and letting my arm drop down beside the bed was the best exercise for me it really stretched things out and I could relax. Also putting pillows behind me and bringing my arms over my head I could relax because I knew there was a stopping point. I also like the exercise with the weight and Swinging my arm with my body. Again thank you.
This helps me understand what's starting to happen with me. Went through radiation for breast cancer. Current job is full of repetitive movement. Already have tension headaches, much worse now. Going to see my Dr; however, going to do these exercises in addition to those i already know. Came here in pain, listening gives me hope. Thank you.
Hey Suzanne, I'm really glad to hear you found the video helpful. Going to see your doctor about the pain is a first step in the right direction. Do let me know how it goes with the exercises. Wishing you a speedy recovery from all of us at PWG! :) Best wishes, Ashley.
Hi, thanks for the explanation. I've just been diagnosed with this and am relieved I know what it is. Thanks for sharing the exercises. I will be doing these. 😊
I watched till the end! And subscribed! This is totally me. I had surgery over a year ago and from your description I’m in phase 2. The doctor and PT have given up on me. I’m starting these exercises today. I’d give anything to be able to put my bra on and to end my pain. Thank you so much for this video!
You're absolutely welcome! I'm so glad to hear the video was helpful. Thanks for subscribing and don't forget to click on the notification bell for more from me. Do let me know how you progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
Thank you for reminding me to go slower through my stretches, and for the explanation as to why. I will listen to this whenever I feel the urge to rush the program, I say as I sit here in pain from overdoing it in PT earlier. This is what I needed to hear today. Added bonus: your voice is lovely and calming.
Truly fantastic explanation and advice . A Physio consult with this much of advice would have costed so very much . Thanks for helping folks like me who are in great pain . Stay blessed.
I'm so happy to have found your video. It perfectly describes the motions that are causing me great pain and gives me actual hope that it can get better! I have worried that I am being a baby, and even worse that it could be this way forever. Thank you for the information ❤
You're absolutely welcome Kat! Glad to hear the video was informative and gave you hope. Don't give up just yet. Keep at it and let me know how it goes once you try the exercises. Best wishes, Ashley.
Kat, your not being a baby, this is real and so painful! I'm up at 2am due to pain. Heat helps me then I do the best I can on the stretches. Mine is from broken wrist, had 2 surgeries, so I really protected my wrist/hand! Too much protection, I didn't move it much. It's slowly thawing out! You will get through this WE ALL CAN GET THROUGH THIS WITH THIS NICE GENTLEMAN'S GUIDANCE 🙆♀️.
This is really good information. I do these stretches every day, and it helps! One thing to note is, that during the freezing phase, the nerve pain is excruciating! It is almost impossible to sleep. I found that sleeping on my back, with a wedge and a pillow under the painful arm for support. I use anti-inflammatories, along with collagen, B complex, and fish oil.

Thanks - just come back from first visit to physio where the nice lady gave me all these stretches and I came away very confused so glad I found your video I will try all these daily and see how I get on. I will add another comment as I make progress for anyone else who comes across this very well presented instructional video.
Hi Andrew, Thank you so much! I'm glad you found my video helpful. Looking forward to hearing all about your progress with the stretches. Best wishes, Ashley.
Don't worry, atrophy will happen if you're not using your muscles. But be patient and get your shoulder working properly again and then gradually build the muscle up from there. You can do it! Best wishes, Ashley
What a brilliant video! You are thorough, enlightening, and extremely helpful in your explanation of this distressing condition. Held my attention the whole way through. Thank you! :-)
Hi Pab ji. I'm so sorry to hear about your shoulder. How are you doing so far? Did you manage to see a doctor? I'm happy you liked the video. Hope it helped. Please do let me know. Best wishes, Ashley.
Brilliant video. Such a clear explanation, straight to the point, no B.S. thankyou so much.I've have a frozen shoulder and the pain at night is horrendous. Starting the exercises straight away.👍
Thanks!☺️
I also had it on one arm, healed it, and then a year later on the other. I used painful Thai massage for the 1st one.

Agreed. I didn't even do any physiology and it went away on its own. HOLD ON!

Very informative and useful information for anyone who has, or has had, this type of injury. As you know, this happened to me about 7 years ago. A recent reply from you brought me to this video, so thank you for that.
For others here, and for you to add comment if you like, I will summarise a bit of my experience below:
Basically, the three stages as you described are exactly what happened. When I went to my GP he immediately diagnosed the problem, as the symptoms are quite obvious. The GP's solution was as follows:
1. 600mg Ibuprophen 3 times a day for a month.

Hi Deborah, So happy to hear that the video has been helpful. Do let me know which stretches have worked for you. Best wishes, Ashley.

What exercises did you do to recover and how long did it take to fully recover?

Thank youdoc. I'm from the philippines, had been suffering from frozen shoulder for months and happen to see this. Thank you very much. I have no one with me so i can do this by myself. I would be healed through this. God bless you!!!!
Hi, Welcome to the PWG family! Glad to hear that the video has been helpful. Please keep me posted on how it goes with the exercises. Best wishes, Ashley.
You're most welcome. I'm glad your surgery went well. Try out the exercises and let me know how it goes!
Best Wishes, Ashley.
Oh my. I had both shoulders and both hips freeze at the same time! It's pain I never wish to bare again!
I will continue these stretches daily and heal🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thank you so much for shedding light on this. I feel a little bit better already, now that I understand more about this condition.

I do hope that the video will be helpful towards your recovery journey. Please keep me updated on how it goes. Best wishes, Ashley.
Hi Bridgette,
You're absolutely welcome! It's great to hear the video was helpful. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Best wishes, Ashley.

Woke up this weekend and now I can't lift my arm at all without screaming. I could do all but one exercise and I already feel hopeful. God bless you!
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that you found the video helpful. Do let me know how it goes with the exercises. Best wishes, Ashley.
@@PrecisionWellbeing I'm already able to lift my arm over my head! (With some discomfort) But Monday, it was impossible to lift my arm waist high. I was terrified I tore something. @@rammiwalia I’m going through the same thing! Been like this for like 4 months now. This is such a helpful video right! I’ve seen several doctors & no one explained that I had frozen shoulder 🤦🏻♀️
Very helpful video and great explanations...I have just recovered from a left frozen sholder and now have one on the right both post falls but the current injury is so much more painful and restrictive.......these exercises seem to be helping.
Thank you that is really helpful.
Thankyou.
You're most welcome. I'm glad the video was able to shed light on your frozen shoulder cause. Please keep me posted on your progress and which stretches work best for you. Best wishes, Ashley.
Thanks for sharing . I am nursing a frozen shoulder right now. I will be trying your stretching . Thanks again.

Your diagnosis was spot on. It's been 11 months since my shoulder injury.
I cant wait to get started on your suggested physical therapy/stretches and begin healing.
That's good to hear. Have you started these stretches/physical therapy yet? Best wishes, Ashley
Hi Scott,
I'm pleased to hear you are making great progress with your shoulder! Keep at it and let me know how it goes. Best wishes, Ashley.
You are most welcome. Glad that the video was helpful. All the best in your recovery journey. Best wishes, Ashley.
That's great to hear! I'm glad to hear the video was insightful. I hope you continue to make improvements. Please let me know how you progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
I’ve watched a lot of videos and this one has all questions answered in the one video. It definitely helps to know what’s going on inside there. Thanks for the time put into this. Got my broom ready 😊

Thank you for this miracle video, after just one exercise with an improvised ball from an avocado seed wrapped in foil (Couldn't wait until the morning to get a real ball), my pain level in the shoulder decreased from a 7 to a 1 in under 5 minutes. I can't thank you enough!
Wow that is improvisation at its best! I'm glad it helped though and I hope your pain continues to improve. Best wishes, Ashley
That is a very good exercise ,it really works especially when you lie on your back and swing your arms.
That's great to hear @H Smith! You're absolutely welcome! I hope you continue to make improvements. Best wishes, Ashley.
I've watched a lot of shoulder videos on RUclips- this is by far the best.

thanks for that simple but informative description.

Thank you!
Hi Victoria, yes I will add it to my list. Night time is a difficult time for many people with shoulder pain. Best of luck with it all. Ashley
Thank you.

The "leaning with a stick" exercise at 12:25 was the most soothing thing ever when I was in the most pain.
Thank you for reminding me to go slower through my stretches, and for the explanation as to why. I will listen to this whenever I feel the urge to rush the program, I say as I sit here in pain from overdoing it in PT earlier. This is what I needed to hear today.
A very clear, well prepared, well spoken account which will be of great assistance to those who have been diagnosed with the condition.
