Appreciate that you bring different themes of lists and incorporating less common Guard units so we can see how they work on the tabletop. I love tanks so seeing the Malcador in action was a treat.
I feel like the only counter to the Guards blob/artillery is to just concentrate on a flank and try to roll them up. Trying to play on an even field on all fronts is a trap for sure.
Sarah's Venom Crawlers look like evil fabergé eggs! I wish they had gotten into the krieg lines. I wanted to see what they could do. I see how being a bit to spread out hurt thier chances.
With you considering the triple Las cannons on the scout sentinels……… The most cost efficient way I can see to have concentrated Las Cannons is a StormLord filled with 9 heavy weapon teams This works out to 49 points per Las cannon inc the 4 on the StormLord Sentinels are 60 points per las cannon Malcador is 83 points per las StormLord is also nice cause you have a high anti infantry and still have 22 spaces left over for whatever you fancy

I’ve been thinking a lot about this, and I’ve decided you’re probably better off just taking 3 heavy weapons squads in a Banehammer. The extra firepower you could theoretically add to a Stormlord really hits diminishing returns on points invested.
I'd love to see an Inquisitorial strike force themed army vs some foul xenos scum or some such. GSC would be classic. Inquisitor with retinue, Scions as stormtroopers and Kasrkin as grenadiers. Fill the rest in to flavor.
Loved it - shame about round 1! As an aside, have you considered a follow up to your super-heavy meme list? Something like three praetors, two shadowswords, and a supreme command blob would be hilarious to watch!
You noted in a video later that some viewers not really take much interest in the forgeworld minis, I'm probably in that camp to be honest. But I like watching just as much to see what your opponent is taking as I don't have the time to read all the indexes (who does). I'm keen to see how your tripple Dorn list does, as I'm taking on to a tourney myself.
A couple good dubs for the death korps due to spread out melee armies against triple basilisk, good play, I always do like these guard batreps The CSM army was beautiful even if it wasn't used optimally against the ol' imperial guard. She probably hadn't had much experience with a cqc army against the slowing arty and a pretty model-durable gunline. Personally I don't like single squads worth near half my points, effective sometimes though it may be I only play emperor's children when it comes to CSM so I don't own abbadon, but I would definitely spend the CP to let abbadon move his max, seems like it made a pretty decent impact being the difference between getting in or not and, if I invested so much in the unit like that and was staring down three earthshaker cannons screened by stuff that abbadon will remove with impunity? Probably. There's good combos like the advance it seems she went with in the end but nothing worth the abbadon ball being behind the critical turn on which the game effectively ended Guard is like my nightmare matchup for lists that lack long range.
Idea: list whit Marauder Destroyer and Thunderbolts receiving orders from Leountus and regimental advisors... callsing the air support ! Air Support: Youre doing great (meme xD)
What is your opinion on attaching a unit of gun servitors on to a munitorum enginseer and then attaching the enginseer and his gun servitors to a Krieg blob with a krieg marshal (or whatever the name of the 5+ FNP guy is) to give you a bunch of cheap heavy weapons with a FNP in your guard army.
@@josephrigley8974 You say that but points cost wise I don't know if there actually are. The gun servitors are cheap as chips and the downsides for them have always been that they're fragile and can't be ordered and attaching them to an infantry blob gets rid of both of these downsides. If you're already going to bring a screening blob and an enginseer this gives you an extra 3 plasma cannons and an extra 2 ablative wounds for 35 points. And even if you aren't going to bring the enginseer to support a specific vehicle 2 plasma cannons for 80 points is actually still cheap.
@@josephrigley8974 Oh and also I almost forgot a big part of it which is that because a unit with multiple keywords shares all of their keywords, this means that the guardsmen all gain an extra ballistic skill too due them all sharing the "munitorum servitor" keyword. Though I don't think that is RaI.
@@jimmydesouza4375 only the servitors get the extra ballistic skill from their rule, they're just not great hitting on 5s most of the time even with them being cheap. Attaching them to an infantry squad limits the usefulness of the squad aswell cause you have to keep a bunch of stuff close together to get the benefits from the enginseer. Just don't think it's worth the points for two plasma cannons that will rarely hit anything.
This is another video that just makes me wonder how Guard will change once their codex comes out? Obviously, they aren't only one way to play, even with just the one detachment, but what will the other detachments buff, or leave lacking? Will the Guard artillery fall flat without Born Soldiers? Will any make a different Warlord, besides Leontus, seem more valuable? Will Enhancements FINALLY become relevant? Will their standing as an Imperium faction mean their codex sucks? It will be interesting to see what continues to work, and what will change.
Show me rex, with death riders in support, and AA flak support. Maybe some more flame... but probably primes with psyker blitz and krieg slowly catching up. Use hard hitting arty, even if it's not reliable. It's to knock out any threat to rex

Mordian what are your thoughts on the scion command squad coming back with reinforcements? It's a regiment unit and the restriction on reinforcements says you can't attach characters back to units not that they can't be brought back. As far as I can tell they would both come back from reinforcements as two different units afterwards
3 squads at max size of 10 so 30 Death riders, then you can run Attilan rough riders who can also be 3 squads of 10 so 60 horses there. Then Lord Solar can be attached to Attilan rough riders and 1 Death Squadron Commander each can be attached to the Death riders so 64 horses total! Mass Cavalry charge!
Sounds to me like your opponents had somewhat inflexible lists. You can see what their battle plan is, you can counter play. Might be an argument against fixed objectives, if your opponent knows exactly what you need to do to score for the whole game...
What was the CSM player even trying, wasting the possessed on a cleanse when they could to a tank apart , not protecting Abbadon and not getting him up the board. That being said god I hate those basilisks as a big lover of melee

those malcadors look kind of different to how i remember malcadors look, are they actual fw ones or are they a 3d printed alternative?
The Infernus is FW, the base Malcadors are third party. MG talks about it in the army list video.
