Hey dude since I set my stuff with this guide for some reason my monitor which is 144hz won't go above 60? like the option to go 144 just doesn't exist anymore, any idea why?
Hmmm sounds like it might have changed in the NVIDIA Control Panel settings. Go to NVIDIA Control Panel - Display - Change Resolution - PC - Refresh Rate - 144Hz. Make sure your monitor is registering as 144Hz here then hit apply if it isn't. I too use a 144Hz monitor and haven't run into the issue which you describe. Hope this helps.
@@ShadowUKTV I figured out the issue, the moment I stick it on image scaling it immediately removes my ability to be a different refresh rate other than 60hz, not sure why
@@Moodigood That is an interesting issue, I haven't heard of this happening before on any previous NVIDIA driver or for a specific game. I suppose if there is a negligible performance improvement for you then disable image scaling so you still get access to a 144Hz refresh rate for now, thanks for sharing as this may help someone else who is having the same issue as you.
Out of the past week of testing, this was as close as I could get to providing optimisations across the board. You're right though, the devs have a lot of work to do to optimise this game for all types of rigs, we'll get there!

Something is definitely not right there, I know a few people with the same GPU, but 2042 is extremely CPU heavy, so do you have a CPU that has a high core count to keep up with the demands of your GPU? A lot of people overlook the their CPU, and so far, other than DICE needing to optimise their game better, CPU's appear to be causing the largest bottleneck, something to keep in mind here. I hope this helps you in some way.
"Prefer Maximum Power" forces your card to run at its maximum clock speed (even in idle), which increases heat and can lower the life of your card. It's better to have the default @Optimal or @normal for RTX 3000 users such as me. "Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization" should be off, gives slightly less performance actually (within 1%) and you may get shimmering objects, NVIDIA even recommends this off in the panel. "Texture filtering - quality" should be at quality because oddly it give the best Time Spy score out of all other options; And for VSYNC, if you have GSYNC on, you need VSYNC ON but if you don't then turn it off.
Some fantastic points here, and thanks for sharing this for all you RTX 3000 series card owners. Personally when it comes to Time Spy and other benchmarking tools such as Heaven Benchmark I tend to take them with a pinch of salt when compared to real world game performance.
@@ShadowUKTVI see what you’re saying. I saw a video from shogoz, the guy provided his testing and comparisons. “Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization” it’s supposed to make your game look worse and give more performance but it’s very negligible and best to keep it off. “Texture filtering - quality” has barely any gains or loss of whatever you set it too, best to just sacrifice that maybe 0.2 fps and get better textures.
@@ShadowUKTV Another point, you should also set “texture filtering negative lod bios” to clamp, with allow you’ll get shimmery objects and buggy looking textures.
@@ShadowUKTV I mean overall, touching these settings aren’t really giving much gains, they’ll only hurt you more if you don’t set them right or set them wrong.
@@derangeddoffy This is definitely something I haven't really thought about myself, however I think a lot of the way you set your system up for various titles all depends on what your target is, highest fps + lowest latency or max fidelity for the best looking game. I appreciate you sharing this, it's something I will keep in mind for the future.
I don't get the point playing the game on low settings. The difference in fps between high and low is almost not noticable but the game looks like actual shit on low settings. So i rather have 100 fps instead of 105 fps and play it on high. :D
That is entirely up to you but there are some people that have seen some performance increase by having the game run on low settings, as well as using the other tips in this guide.
