    How much propaganda and commercials on a 16 min video, at what point it becomes an ahole thing to do? just saying...

      Much appreciate the feedback ES. I do understand and feel the same way sometimes when I'm watching youtube videos. Not all of my videos will be like this I promise, but at this point I'm trying to produce consistent high quality content for RUclips, while still being able to make an appropriate income for my family since I'm doing this full time now. Not easy haha. Was there a particular ad that you would like changed or removed that was particularly annoying? I would greatly appreciate any input. Thanks for watching and your support no matter what.

      BYOT the ads aren’t so bad. If they really bother me I just skip though them which takes a couple of seconds. Gotta make that extra $$$ from the sponsors. Nice video man keep it up!

      Great to hear Rafae and thanks so much for sharing. Ya I figure if the BYOT Fam dislikes the ad brake they can always skip ahead 30 seconds or so, but i really do want to hear what people think since I am always looking at ways to improve the channel. Thanks for understanding and your continued support man. Much appreciated.

      @@BYOTools Unsurprisingly, they are always silent when you reply and genuinely ask for constructive criticism i.e. pointing out the particulars they'd like changed. I see that all the time in comments on your channel and other DIY channels.
      People like that make me sick. Them and their self-satisfied demeanor and their rhetorical questions.

    On another note...I placed my flooring on a cement slab. After removing the carpet and padding , I noticed on the cement there was a damp spot under the window.
    The window frame needed caulking from the outside...leak fixed. Watch for any discoloration on the floor.
    Any water leaks will need to be addressed...before laying down the planks. Hope this helps.....

    Great tips and great looking floor. But I would not recommend using a black mallet. As it can mar the floor. If you use a mallet like they use for hard wood it’s less of a chance of marring the floor. Or a dead blow works well.

    Talking about very expensive knee-pads, come to mind "THE PRESIDENTIAL KNEE-PADS" of Monica Lewinski :D. No knee-pads could be more expensive than that in the entire world !! Sorry, bad joke, but couldn't resist. Your video is awesome, but I am installing the kind that have almost 1" of sticky lips on two sides, each of which goes under the normal edge of the next plank. I installed that about 6-7 years ago in same situation, in basement room with carpet and padding removed from the concrete floor. What I want to see is what you did with the edges along the walls. I just slid them under the floorboard and nailed wood quarters along the wall. It was hard last time, because I didn't think of nails to be driven in the concrete floor to hold the quarters. And I literally hammered one nail at a time with a hammer. This time I am just covering the closet in the same room, so very small space to cover AND I have a nailer. :P .

    Did you have to do any self leveling of the concrete prior to install? I am looking to lay this same flooring in my garage which also will be on a concrete slab but I was told that my floor has to be level within 3/16 across a 10 ft radius. It looks level to the eye but apparently its not within this standard. Do you know how important this step of leveling is? Can I just proceed with the install without leveling? Thank you!!

    One day...gonna buy a condo...and tools I suppose. Then I can do this. Is there anything specific you would recommend if you were concerned about the build up of moisture or potential bug issues beneath your carpet/new flooring?

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  4 года назад +1

      I don’t know about bugs but if your concerned about moisture in the concrete then you can apply a vapor Barrier to the floor prior to installing the flooring. Just make sure that doesn’t effect the warranty on your flooring. It shouldn’t in this case. Thanks for watching and the good question Apple.

    Receiving free materials from Dyma Flooring is considered compensation. Just because you didn't receive cash from them it does not mean you weren't compensated for marketing their brand. Regardless, vinyl flooring looks nice and I'll be checking it out for my basement remodeling.

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  4 года назад +1

      That is correct DT, which is why I never said that I wasn’t being compensated from them. Obviously I am in material but please know that I treat free material vs monetized compensation differently. If a brand is just providing material they are basically getting free advertising for their material and they have zero input on what I say or do in the video with their product. That is the case with Dyma. If they are compensating me monetarily I’m always going to be truthful and honest with my audience because that’s the most important thing to me but I do give brands at that point more input on the statements they would like me to say, like with MUD/WTR. Hope that makes sense and thanks so much for watching and the continued support DT. Always appreciated and glad you like the floor. Good luck on your project!
