    Looks like your controller cable could do with repairing with a piece of heat shrink before it breaks completely.

      @wolfmanrepairs  Год назад

      Yes I will have to do that. That controller needs to be gone through. Some of the buttons aren’t that responsive. So I need to see if it’s the wires or it could just need a good clean!!
      Thanks for your comment!! I really appreciate it!! 🐺😁

      I was thinking the same, or just wrap the cable inside the controller more. You'll lose about 3 inches 😅

    Great video, My advice of the day comment for the algorithm. You could of put solder through the through hole to solidify the wire more instead of the solder mask. What did should work but if you ever need to fix it again it just become 5 times harder. (Plus the solder would hold the pins in place now that it has something to grab onto.)

      p.s. I promise I'm not trying to be critical, I learned from some things you did so i want to share my experiences and at the same time please the algorithm gods.

      Thank you!! That is a great idea!! I did not think about doing that. I agree with you about the solder mask. I tend to not use it at all just incase I have to go back in. Fingers crossed that this repair lasts and I don’t have to go back in!! 🐺😁

      I don’t see it as you being critical. Your sharing information. I’m relatively new to fixing electronics and every little bit of advice helps!! Thank you so much for always commenting and feeding the algorithm!! It is much appreciated!! 🐺😁

    Nice save. I had a cart like that and I could see in the plastic case that it had been stepped on or something. The traces seem to be fragile on them compared to other systems. I broke a few trying to cut the legs off a rom to do a board swap or repro so I don't do that with them anymore.

      Thank you!! Some of these cartridges have had it rough for sure!! The traces do seem super delicate. On this one I didn’t even see the broken traces until I got it under the microscope. If I find a cheap sports game I might consider removing the rom and doing a rom swap!!
      Thanks for your comment!! 🐺😁

    I would have superglued the pads to the board then tried to bridge them

      I’m not sure if superglue would have held up to the heat of the soldering iron. I will give it a try next time though!! 🐺🐺😁😁

    Mortal Kombat 1 for the SNES? Don't repair it. 🤣 MK2 however, repair it.

      🤣 🤣🤣
      I didn’t have Mortal Kombat 1 for the SNES as a kid so this was my first time playing it. I will have to pick up Mortal Kombat 2 for the SNES and give it a try as well!!
      Thanks for your comment!! 🐺😁
