Nice work there. I like how you modded the super Nintendo to have an led light on it! Love your videos! 👍

excellent video! in the process of trying to repair two “black screen” SNES games with my dad, neither one of us have any soldering experience so we’re nervous, after watching your video though, i know we can do it!

Pro tip (probably a bit late for you, but someone in a similar situation may see this): If you're just checking continuity on a couple of carts, you don't need to buy a multimeter, you can use a bulb. battery, and some wire

brotip: when the pads are too scratched you can polish them with a cotton swab wet with metal polisher, they look like new after polishing and work better

I know, I didn’t even know it was worth much I figured it to be a $10-15 game. Turns out it’s a higher end title, perhaps it’s the Taito touch most Taito games have.

Me and my stepfather (who have some repairing skills/knowledge btw) bought a copy of Donkey kong country 2 with this problem, and this video calmed me down a little bit more. When I repair some broken traces only use a wire thin as a hair, that helps when I close the cartridge

What a coincidence. I’m glad you got it working, it’s super satisfying finding something that’s worth money (that you otherwise wouldn’t spend) for cheap in a broken state. I bought uncharted waters and L’empereur for nes not working for really cheap, I thought it would make for a good video turns out they work... I would never buy those games for full price cuz I probably will never play them.

How does a trace crack when it's still inside the cart case and there is no visible sign of exterior damage to the PCB?
Is this a case of the trace literally just burning out inside the PCB itself?

  • @adilator

    • @PunkNDisorderlyGamer

Yes, I had a castlevania 4 that wouldn’t boot, I chalked it up to a bad rom.
