Citroen C1 Short Shifter Installation & Test / CityBug/Aygo/107 Quick Shifter Fitted

- Fitted a £35 short shift modification to the C1 and tested it in an ultra scientific way compared to standard.
Same part fits Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 107/108 1.0 litre (1KR)

Oh yeh, also took out the injectors and cleaned them with my injector tester attached, and the spray pattern is now good. Still has the Lumpy tick-over virus.
I’d love one of these but I don’t have a back-to-front baseball cap and a pair of Burberry socks.

It will still work, but will unfortunately loose a small amount of its effectiveness.

my mechanics says took him a good hour to install.

Still having bloody problems with the Lumpy tick-over. Stays at 850-900 RPM, no erratic idling, just lumpy as hell.
Swapped out the throttle body and still doing it! Swapped over the idle control valve, still doing it. I think It's been invaded by the Lumpy tickover virus.
Is this something that has started all of a sudden? I mean, these shitters are pretty lumpy as standard on tickover. Mine feels really lumpy since I sikoflex’d the gearbox mount, so maybe one of your engine mounts is shagged and exaggerating the vibration?
Also if it’s worse when hot, it could be worth checking the valve clearances as they are shimmed on these. Tight valves could cause lumpy idle, and worse when hot however I’ve never heard of them going out of spec personally

I’ve no link cos the one I bought is sold out, but,.. if you just do an eBay search for either 107, c1 or Aygo short shifter some others come up. If it looks the same then it’s probably the right one.

Is that round thing like a counterweight or something? it could be way smaller. I’m not from the uk so shipping ain’t worth it. Could a homemade work?

Bueno, what cars does that kit fit on ?? Was that specific for the shitrron ?
It will fit on all of the manual 1.0 from what I can tell. The Aygo, 107 and mk1 c1 definitely and I believe it fits all the mk2 1.0 models but best off checking with the seller. It should be easy to check though just make sure the gear selector on the top of the box looks like mine, with the 2 homes for the bolts
Im facing hard in shifting is it work for my 2021 aygo?
If the shifting is hard, this won’t help. It makes the shifting shorter but also makes it a bit harder. If your shifting is hard then your clutch may need adjusting.

@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Sorry, as an engineer, I don't think it serves any balanced weight ratio when the plate itself is fastened down tightly with two screws to the main plate.
One could easily avoid using by moving the hook up to one of the other holes and fasten it with a long screw and bolt.
I'll try it and let you know.
I honestly don't think c1 or aygo are designed by Space X engineers

@@basba_qal 😂 fair enough. Actually looking at it, it’s probably more to give it a bit more inertia and give a better feel as it goes into gear. It’s attached to a part of the gearbox that moves.

So, what if you, instead of installing the short shifter, had released the original shifter and fastened it with a screw and nut in the middle hole or the second hole if the pin got in the way?
Maybe, but for £35 the shifter works well tbh

Hi mate, what should I do if I've lost the pin for the gear selector?
The securing clip? Just get a new one, or failing that an R clip to fit, or even a split pin will secure it

I do it in combination with a 108 shift mechanism.
They are better than the origininal ones from 107 c1 etc
Will UK sellers not post to Netherlands? It would probably be easier and cheaper to do that than to have one made from scratch tbh

Thanks mate. It’s slightly stiffer but not to any detriment. It feels way way more positive. It will be pulling on the cables slightly harder but I doubt it will be by enough to cause any negative effects though. I’m actually really impressed with it.
