As a french native speaker I find it extremely exotic that turkish verbs come at the very end of their sentences. It's like you can never interrupt someone until they're completely done saying what they're saying. Such a polite language lol
@J C Latin was by default SOV, so was Classical and Koine Greek. Baltic and Slavic languages were SOV up until the 15th to 17th centuries. I don't know why, but all these languages were systematically switching to SVO. Vulgar Latin began switching from SOV to SVO around the 7th century. German dialects remained mostly SOV until the 16th century, so were Norse languages. Old English actually switched to SVO pretty early on, in the 8th century, before any French influence.

Wow I just came back from Turkey 2 weeks ago and it was my second visit to Turkey after a year. After my second visit now, I became more interested with Turkish language and started to watch Turkish drama with English subtitles. I enjoyed this video and it was funny how they described the Istanbul people because it is almost true based on my own encounter with people in Istanbul itself lol.

if you want to emphasize the verb, especially with the imperative form, you can also put it at the beginning like "bırak beni" or "aç kapıyı"
