As a french native speaker I find it extremely exotic that turkish verbs come at the very end of their sentences. It's like you can never interrupt someone until they're completely done saying what they're saying. Such a polite language lol

@J C Latin was by default SOV, so was Classical and Koine Greek. Baltic and Slavic languages were SOV up until the 15th to 17th centuries. I don't know why, but all these languages were systematically switching to SVO. Vulgar Latin began switching from SOV to SVO around the 7th century. German dialects remained mostly SOV until the 16th century, so were Norse languages. Old English actually switched to SVO pretty early on, in the 8th century, before any French influence.

Usually, I don’t write comments under videos but since I am a Turkish who studied English Translation and Interpretation in university and who is fond of this channel, I must say that this video is really great. It shows every aspect of Istanbul.
Plus, the translation is excellent. I want to thank you as a translator and a Turkish person.

"He compiled a French-Turkish (1882) and Turkish-French (1884) dictionary, an Arabic language dictionary (1898) and a two volume Ottoman Turkish dictionary (1899-1901) along with a six volume encyclopedia Kamus al Alam (1899-1899)." Teşekkür ederim Emin ve Easy languages. Türkçe güzel bir dil. Lovely video and I recognised most of the places mentioned and where you filmed from my first time in Istanbul just over a year ago now 😁👋🏽🇹🇷

Bir adam ve bir filolog olarak, kısa saçlı ve atkılı bayanın (1:19) büyük bir hayranıyım.
Mükemmel bir kelime hazinesi, yaratıcı bir zihni ve söyleyecek çok ilginç şeyleri var.
Kanalınızın büyük bir hayranı olan bir Yunan okulu öğretmeninden selamlar.
Türkçe ile daha iyi olmaya devam etme çabamda çok yardımcı oldunuz.
