I love Turkish tv series because they actually have a story behind them and I never have to worry about my kiddo coming in and seeing something I don't want them to. I'm slowly getting better at understanding the dialog but have some trouble because of the slang and shortened words. Thank goodness I found Can's videos.

Janne me too... I decided to teach myself Turkish and become familiar with it so that I can at some point understand/follow Turkish TV series and programs with or without English subtitles. There are some Turkish series on RUclips that start out with English subtitles but then they stop, and then there are other Turkish series that don't have any English subtitles at all.
@@bella3636 the old ones are in YT. They might not have subtitles as they suggested. I'd try looking for them in local streaming platforms especially if they are popular in your country

Warning to International Tourists: English is not spoken widely in Turkey. Istanbul is the only place where many Turks understand English, especially in the tourist hubs for the obvious motive. Outside Istanbul, expect to rely on the translator app. The locals initiate the use of handy app on the smartphone. This makes the visitors even lazier to get interested in even learning a few phrases. As I travel, I try to use the basic phrases along with encouraging the local young people to learn English. It never hurts neither side learning a foreign language to expand the mental horizon by communicating with people from different walks of life.

Just arrived back from a two week holiday close to Dalaman. I wish I watched this video before arriving as it would have really helped! I started my holiday knowing essentially no Turkish; and by the end I could say many phases in this video, and ask people how they are etc, and finish with saying see you later. This made many of the Turkish locals very happy, and made me happy also. I cannot wait to return to Turkey in the future 🇹🇷❤️

Interesting video. As a Bulgarian I recognized three words we use until this day very frequently and everyone now what they mean: "hic", "tamam" and "zor". But the meaning is a bit changed. For example, "tamam" is used as exactly. "Did I come on time? Tamam on time, you are not late". "Zor" is used for a big hardiness. Example: "I have a lot of work and my deadline is tomorrow. Oh, you see a big Zor".

Interesting video. As a Bulgarian I recognized three words we use until this day very frequently and everyone now what they mean: "hic", "tamam" and "zor". But the meaning is a bit changed. For example, "tamam" is used as exactly. "Did I come on time? Tamam on time, you are not late". "Zor" is used for a big hardiness. Example: "I have a lot of work and my deadline is tomorrow. Oh, you see a big Zor".

After watching so many darams i can speak turkish understand it easily like i can watch darama without subtitles i can write turkish somehow...i know their poetry and i learned so many turkish songs i have keen interest on their culture..

They have the same meaning so it doesn't matter which one you prefer to use
It's the same, only while speaking in order to speak fast and look more professional people mostly say napıyorsun.
It is expected you to write it Ne yapıyorsun?Ne yapıy'osun is not formal.
