Bo Jackson so legendary he makes Deion - for a brief moment - humble.
Factz!💯
Deion is humble. He’s just a marketing guru. Self made. Not in the he era of social media Deion marketed himself as well as showed and proved.
@@dougieb4286 Deion is a marketing guru. Deion is self-made. Deion was an incredible football player AND is an incredible human being. But Deion is not humble. And that is ok.
Max Feigenbaum it sis ok but that doesn’t mean he’s not humble. He went to JSU. Not for money, not for fame but for kids and my people.
And dude, seriously, I got nothing but respect for Deion. But the man was over-the-top cocky. And, again, that is ok. It just happens to also be a fact.
If Bo Jackson stayed healthy for both baseball and football he might've been a bigger sports legend than Michael Jordan. No joke. People AND sports fans loved him.
W
greenmean1 Q. How do you get Michael Jordan to quit playing baseball?
A. Kill his mom.
Such an insensitive joke but I ALWAYS laughed at it.
greenmean1 yes he does...like all the time. It's really starting to bother me.
At Bo's peak he was as big as Jordan. Maybe bigger. Everyone back then knew, Bo Knows.
Bo don't know Diddly!
I like Deion but it's safe to say he never attempted another tackle after this traumatic experience
Its funny because its true...I loved Deion Sanders but he couldn't tackle his way out of a paper bag...but you better not throw on his side because he will pick it off
David Wray
name a big tackle he missed. a single one.
Richard William Guilmette name one he made.
*****
True that...
***** he's made a few you just gotta be the right size tho.
Deon is the kind of man where he can talk about getting stiffed by Bo, and it doesn't take 1 ounce away from his magnificent career. Deon is a class act.
It’s no shame...Bo was running through lineman, Prime didn’t have a chance lol
Right
Didn't Bo Jackson push Brian Bosworth 10 yards into the end zone?
Bo and I grew up together and bo took up for me, he was tough AF. Bo would wear ankle weights and still out run me. Bessemer Al proud here!
I like him best when he is more Deion Sanders and not the Prime routine.
I had no idea that Sanders has such a sense of humor...great delivery, perfect dead-pan. And Bo...just wow. Without the injury, Bo would have been in the baseball Hall of Fame and probably the NFL HoF as well.
+John Welch Primes great. He comes out with it. I remember watching the Falcons and the Bucs 2 years ago. The Falcons were up 30 by half, and all the other anchors were doing their thing to make you not change the channel. Saying things like they could comeback if....Sanders was the only one that said...we've got 30 more minutes before we can get up out of here. Shit cracked me up.
@Matt Beeman I would imagine there is not a sane football player that played during Bo's era that would not say that he was one of the best they had ever seen play the game. Frankly, the man superseded description and stats.
@Matt Beeman That's because missed 6-7 games a season playing baseball. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry.
@Matt Beeman lmao are you kidding, the NFL hall would be NOTHING for a healthy Bo. The even crazier thing though, is that he was an even better baseball player than people gave him credit for. Would've went down as the best defensive CF ever, and his swing was SWEET
NFL HOF probably a sure thing. Very doubtful he'd make the MLB HOF. His .250 career average would have been a problem, he wasn't a defensive standout despite the two- or three-catch highlight reel that keeps being beaten into our heads. He relied a lot on his speed and that would have started to disappear after the first third of his career. And, remember, we're not talking about Herschel Walker here. Bo was NOT going to get any lighter or faster. A one-time all-star whose best finish in the MVP race was 10th.
Remember Bo in Tecmo Bowl? Could not stop him.
+pugilist102 Dickerson either. Walter Payton ran well as well, so did Roger Craig. Bo was like playing with a cheat code though.
Most unstoppable character in video game history. Virtually impossible to stop.
Barry Sanders was a beast to in that game too (probably second to bo)...oh and all the guys with 81 strength or whatever...when they got their status to excellent, they'd buck everyone and run them over. It was so fun just running down field watching bodies pop up off the running back. Brad Muster, Anderson, Okoye were my favorites to do that with..
But nobody, I mean no body beat bo in that game. Bo was so fast in that game, by the time the blitz got to the line of scrimmage bo was 20 yards down field LOL. He was literally the only running back in that game who could run through the blitz every time and not get touched.
MagicLM
Herschel Walker used to truck guys too
vsmith3rd
Michael Vick in Madden 2004 was pretty unstoppable too
Bo Jackson wasn't human. They only reason he got injured on that one tackle. Was because the linebacker had soaked his hands in kryptonite juice before the game. Thereby negating his super human qualities.
+David Stewart Haha he was literally running so fast the force of his momentum ripped his knee (I think) out
+Mac Smith it was his hip. But yeah it's crazy to think that his career ended because he ran too fast.
+Mac Smith I dislocated his hip. When he rolled over to get up he rolled on the same hip and it popped back into place and broke a blood vessel causing more problems. Than he got up and walked off the field as if a simply and a minor strain or sprain.
+famguy9 Actually the damage to his hip was caused by overtraining. After the hit, his deep hip rotators were testing weak due to muscle spasm but the physical therapist incorrectly told him that he needed to isolate and strengthen them. Bo being Bo, he decided to train the muscles 10x harder than the PT recommended and ended up making them so hypertonic that they cut off the blood supply to his hip and caused necrosis of the tissue. All he needed was some targeted massage therapy to stop the spasms and he would have probably had a long career.
famguy9
"You know, curl, looked wet, but it was . . . dryyyyy." I love Deion.
It honestly gives me chills to imagine what would've happened if Bo had never gotten injured. He had the potential to be one of the all time great running backs, if not the greatest running back ever, and also could've been a MLB hall of famer as well.
If it hadn’t been for pride, the man should’ve just stuck with baseball. He could’ve had one of the lengthiest and most decorated MLB careers in history.
He is the greatest rb ever. Short career or not.
Bos best season he avg 88 yards a game. really not even CLOSE to what you are claiming, about GOAT status
and he had 3 really long runs that people over hype, he had again 3 big runs, thats it, its not like he did that every game, he did it once in 3 of 4 seasons
@@RushFanatic87 Not really. He was a better football player than baseball.. He would have had a solid MLB career but prolly not HoF. He could have legit been a HoF running back.
"I'm shure he does!" made me laugh out loud 😂 I love Deion Sanders!
I picked the ball off to seal the game, you should be running the clip of that right now LOL I died. Deion is the man!
I mean...they should have.

It’s easy to intercept when he pushed the receiver (Freddy Weygan) to the turf. Cheater.
@@BigstickNick They really should. He's been doing this for a minute.
Missed PI, horrible no call. AU should have won.
Bo was THE man, Deion was just 1 more straight-arm victim in a loooong list.
Deion went on too do great things in both sports he participated in
Lets be honest here, everyone in the parking lot playing football was pretending to be primetime man haha not bo......but he was a beast for sure. Sanders went on to destroy legends

+AMUR1CA yes, and
No one can mess with Bo when it comes to all time greatest athletes
+Katelin Kent John Elway was the #1 overall pick for both NFL and MLB. Not saying he truly is more athletic than Bo, but I think its worth noting. As we all know, Elway did NOT play baseball.
as far as RB's goes,Bo Jackson's is probably one of the strongest and fastest of all time. it wasn't fair to some players that he was so fast and that strong at the same dang time. Bo jackson changed the game!
Bo was the best 'athlete' I've ever seen, in any sport.
Why you putting athlete in quotation marks? Doesn’t make sense
I like to think I would beat Bo in a game of badminton or figure skating contest.
Deion edges him. To be the best ever at his position all while playing THE hardest position in the NFL. Bo was never deemed the goat of his position. And unfortunately his career was plagued with injuries.
I guess you've never seen Herschel Walker.
@@sydboski yes, I've seen Hershel, did you see Bo?

Bo and Deion two best athletes ever. They were both superstars in multiple sports. Bo did it with humility and Deion did it with swagger. Now you know why so many people loved Bo.
DS's lifetime MLB batting average was ..263. Respectable, but; hardly a number to qualify as "superstar."
Bo, with the exception of his final season when he only played 75 games, struck out more times than games played. He was never a 30-30 guy with 32 homeruns being the most he hit in a season. He did lead the league in strikeouts more than one season
Sorry. None of that deserves a bust in Cooperstown.
Never forget when Bo struck out once. Had the bat on top of his helmet walking back to the dugout, just pulled down on it, and just snapped it in half. Ash bat. Like something you would see on a worlds strongest man contest.
Bat was already cracked but still crazy
He struck out all the time. It was the only category he ever led the league in.
When he said y’all should be playing the clip 😂
Its almost like primetime is a completely different entity when Deion talks about him. I love that he keeps it going even after all of these years.
I love how Deion qualifies it. "Prime was a freshman, about 160. Bo was Bo. Bout 225-235." "I had to run across the field to get him. I caught him." Then he makes the stiff-arm motion. Deion making it sound like Bo didn't do that to everyone he encountered at every level
LOL, I never saw Deion Sanders ever tackle anyone, could you imagine him trying to tackle Bo Jackson?
Even Tony Romo said Deion didn’t like to tackle anyone. That didn’t sit too well with Mr. Sanders. I guess the truth hurts.@@thegrinch7989

Being stiff armed by Bo Jackson is such an honor
Prime is hilarious in this interview and good for him to take the humble road on the Bo jobbie. Bo Jackson w btw was outlawed at my Tecmo Bowl Parties!
"Jheri curl looked wet but, it was dry" 😂😂😂
Mine was wet and flammable! Yikes.
Those 2 did some amazing things on the baseball field as well. I remember seeing Deion hit a bloop 'single' down the right field line. By the time the right fielder got the ball back to the infield, Deion was standing on 3rd base. He looked like Road Runner going around the bases.
Bo stiffed me. he palmed my face mask he did all of that LOOLL. Deion a funny dude.

Classic prime. The confidence...The swagger....& lastly the ability to back it all up on the field. Both he & Bo were two of the best athletes ever to lace up cleats. Shame we were cheated in seeing Bo reach his full potential.
Bo getting injured is my worst memory from all of sports. When your team loses, there's always next year. There was no next year, and Bo wasn't the only one to lose out, the fans lost out. We were all robbed of some incredible entertainment which never came to be.
Add Barry Sanders in there and that is the trifecta. Still haven't seen anybody as good as any of those three. They just constantly did things that amazed you, and there really hasn't been many since then that were like that, and none that really just stick in my mind like they did. Any time they touched the ball it was almost electric
Dion was incredibly fast, but Bo is one of the greatest athletes of all time
No doubt imo Top 5 athletes all time just wish he had bit more time on the fields of play.
@@luish777 Bo is a way better athlete but one of the biggest "what if comparisons" to him of all-time is Mickey Mantle. But Mantle didn't injury himself to the heart crushing devastating level of Bo. But for as great as mantle was and his accomplishments were, he could have went down as possibly the best ever if it wasn't for an early injury (and alcoholism further exasperated because of injury) We never truly got to see how good Bo truly could have been. Some of the stories and feats about him have gone down as legends. I've never seen anybody break a bat the way Bo could. Strength, power, speed, agility, he literally was the complete package on a beyond epic scale.... And he was just as good in both sports. Dion was a way better cornerback than he was a baseball player, good ball player though.
Deion is one of the greatest athletes of all time as well as Bo. Deion was more than just fast
@@reginaldjiles4759 He isn't Bo and it's not even close. Jackson was bigger stronger and faster. To this day it's Bo that still holds the record in the 40 yard dash in the NFL not Deon. Before injury it was Bo who was one of the best players in box leagues. Deon could never say that. Baseball, he was a good player but never great. Bo had all 5 tools and had an absolute cannon for a arm Deon had two at best. Still I don't think there's any argument that Prime is the best cover corner of all-time. Bo just had once in a multi generation genetic ability that there's around 4 athletes in the last 100 years you can compare him to, one being Jim Brown. There is no bigger what if in all of sports than Bo Jackson.

Bo was only 225
JP Kinsella point taken. But I bet it felt like 280 when you tried to tackle him. Lol
Bo and Jim Brown-the 2 greatest all around athletes of the 20th century-really unfortunate that Bo suffered what amounted to a career ending injury on fall after a routine tackle-nobody could catch Bo from behind and Brown, although not as blazingly fast, could only be caught by defenders who would have no chance of bringing him down-sort of like a barking dog catching a car
fyafyta390
In the 40yd dash but not the 100. Big Hershel ran a 10.30 100 meters at the NCAA's 1981, got beat by Carl Lewis. Bo never clocked a faster 100 time.

Bo Jackson was freakin' awesome. One of the world's greatest athletes. Ever.
He shouldbe put in the both the baseball and NFL Hall of Fame just because he was so extraordinary and career ended early by injury. The numbers that he had while he played were amazing.
What was so extraordinary about Bo's football 38 game career?
Deion's funny. And he was a REALLY good player. I mean the man made an impact on offense, defense, and special teams. He did everything but coach lol. So you can be a little cocky when you proved yourself
jonathan bailey he did coach on a Pro Bowl team.
And he was a decent baseball player to boot.
He allowed his team to put more resources toward covering No. 1 receivers while he covered all those No. 2s. That's value.
It's always amazing when Deion refers to himself "Prime" in the 3rd person. Bo Jackson is Legendary. Deion is as well in his own right. But once and a while theres that someone that just well...

Bo was so great, had he been born later and played today, people would accuse him of PEDs. He was unnatural. He broke a lot of records in just the short time he played, I get goosebumps and even a little sad thinking what he could of done with a 15 year career in any sport. There are hall of fame legends that will tip their hat and admit they were lucky to have just been on the same field with Bo Jackson.
you can't just do something simple like take PEDs and be what Bo was. He was a genetic freak, in a good way. The scouts rated him a '10' in every category.
Classy act by Deion Sanders to acknowledge that another great athlete bested him on the field. Many claim that Sanders is cocky and arrogant, but here he showed commendable humility.
1983 I was a Sr at FIU playing 3rd base on a road trip against Auburn. Cleanup man, big black guy comes up to plate and hits a seed to me. I fielded cleanly and threw a rope to first base. He was barely out by half a step. Later that evening I learned that it was Bo Jackson. Best athlete in the world.
One day kids will read about the legend of Bo Jackson the way we do of Paul Bunyan and John Henry.

Ichimar486 Brilliant!
It made perfect sense
To all these people dissing Deion's tackling, you got to remember that Deion was a pure coverage corner, not that big, not that strong. What he did posses was the best footwork in the NFL next to Barry Sanders and Jerry Rice, along with blazing speed. It wasn't like he was a strong side bump and run corner like Rod Woodson. Deion was out there to neutralize the best wide out on the field, not to tackle or cover the strong side like a traditional strong side corner. You know what I never really liked the guy all that much and found him to be annoying as hell but he is bar none the greatest coverage corner of all time. And top five all around at the position. The only guys I think you can argue are in his league all around at the position are Rod Woodson and Charles Woodson.
Ronnie Lott
Ronnie was a safety not a cb.
Ty Law is underrated in these conversations. Same number of career picks as Prime, and 300 more tackles (career was 1 year longer). Prime was a better coverage corner, but Law was great and a better tackler. His pick-6 to punch The Greatest Show On Turf in the mouth to start the Super Bowl was a huge reason the Pats dynasty got started. Just got his gold jacket, too.

There's absolutely no way that being stiffed armed by Bo Jackson is an insult or takes away from Deion's greatness... It really was a privilege watching both of them play
Bo Jackson was a beast, I wonder what could've been if he didn't retire early.
He got injured
He didn't retire early, like most football players he was retired early. His entire hip was torn out of his socket a few times.
Jersey Devil yeah the final one it wasn't repairable
NFL history rusher.
Two sport Hall of fame, maybe. A least one.
Deon is humble as ever!
His best season ever was in SF.
He was simply amazing.
My favorite Deon story is him coming back from some injury, the doctor or trainer informing him when asked about his readiness that "he'd be okay for the game, provide he didn't take a real good hit".
"Then I'll be fine", said Neon, "I never really hit anybody anyway".
Lem Barney was Deon Sanders decades before Deon Sanders, only he HIT people, and threw himself like a bowling ball into pulling guards and TEs two at a time, so the teammate behind him could make the tackle.
Deon is funnier by a stretch and a good story teller when he isn't with his partner Marshall Faulk--like two giggly school kids talking over the straight guy, mumbling jokes to one another--not very professional, but funny gets mixed in there.
They were talking the other day about CJ?K, Marshall saying he was done, basically (all off camera, while film rolled), and Deon sort of spoke up for him, gave him some cover, "He can still run", and Marshall said, "I can still run", or play, etc. Deon said something about Marshall's knee, and they backed and forthed, then he said, "Your knee so bad, when I look at it, my knee hurt".
Jim Thorpe is the perhaps the ultimate standard for great athlete.
Jim Brown was also a great athlete. Besides his obvious greatness in football, he was the best Lacrosse player of his time. He was also a good college level basketball player and he even finished 5th at the Olympics qualifier for the Decathalon (the best standard for all around athletic ability).
These two have great chemistry
Bo had the legs. Sadly, that is what hurt him. That leg tackle that took him down, Bo literally pulled his own leg out of the hip socket and things were never right for him after that
It’s sad when the power and efficiency of the machine turns out to be its fatal flaw. His legs were just too powerful for a human body.
It’s crazy right? To me the fact that his own power and momentum was the cause, actually adds to his legendary status.
Do you realize how freakin' strong you have to be to pull your leg out of the socket? Bo was freakishly strong! He could stand in the shallow end of the swimming pool in 3 ft of water and jump CLEAN out of the pool and land on the edge of the pool.......let that sink in for a bit.
"We not gonna get Samuel Jackson no time soon" LOLOLOL
And that was the last time Deion Sanders attempted to tackle a running back in run support. I believe that was when the term "cover corner" came to be known.
I'm laughing right now. SO true. Already typed it above, but my fave Deon story is the question he asks his doc/team trainer regarding his readiness to play with whatever injury, being told "you should be fine, so long as you don't take a direct hit again there".
"That's okay", says Deon, "I don't really hit anybody anyway".
If Bo Jackson stiff-armed me, that’s how I would start every conversation for the rest of my life.
Now that right there people is RESPECT. BO KNOWS
bo was all that and a bag of the wavvvviest lays
"can i talk in third person for a moment"......you can't make this stuff up
It's difficult to believe that Deion ever found himself in a situation in which he could be stiff-armed by Bo. Usually if there was a tackle to be made. Deion would either run the other direction or kind of inch his way over, sideways, with his eyes closed and a single tear already running down his cheek.
Perhaps this was his indoctrination of when to “try to tackle” vs “oh heck no!” Lol
I hate to break the truth out on anyone mixed up but the fact is this, Bo Jackson was arguably the most all around naturally talented and gifted athlete to ever play any sport! Many records would have been eclipsed by him if his career wouldnt have tragically ended so early. He was like a super human! Neon Deion on the other hand should never even be mentioned when discussing the topic of Greatest Player or Athlete of all time! Neon Deion could do one thing and it was something that wasn't unique to him by no means, he ran real fast and show boated a whole lot!
At Neon Deions very best, which was a very short time, he wasn't even close to being at the Level that Bo Jackson was his whole life. Neon spent a big percentage of his career on the disabled list, most time nursing the crippling injury known as TURF TOE!!
That's right, TURF TOE sidelined Neon Deion many times, Bo Jackson not only played with torn muscles and fractured bones, he did things that amazed and shocked the world, displays of super human feats of strength, agility, and speed like never seen.
There's several others that should be talked about along with Bo Jackson when discussing the greatest, like Walter "Sweetness" Peyton who many say is hands down the greatest running back ever, hard to argue that. And Barry Sanders, Barry was on his way to not only breaking records but also maybe putting one or more records out of thereach of future super stars. Erik Dickerson, and few others should be in the conversation, but Most definitely without a doubt or question, Neon Deion SHOULD NOT be in that conversation at all. For anyone to suggest he should be or even think he should be would prove to the world that this particular person is amazingly ignorant when it comes to the subject at hand.
Bo Jackson may not have the reputation of greats that had longevity like Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Muhammad Ali, etc. But make no mistake- for a period of few years, Bo Jackson was the best all around athlete on planet earth.
Bo is a legend. If healthy he would've been a 2 sport Hall of Famer.
LOL. No.
Bo was so great he thought he could break all tackles, and it cost him his hip joint on one side, which ended his career. None of us no matter how great we are can ignore an equal or greater counter force. He did and paid a huge price for it. You're only as great as you can remain balanced mentally and physically.
This dude just said......"Bo stiffed me". lol.
Bo Jackson is hands down the greatest athlete of all time. He was all natural and never ever had to do any performance enhancing drugs!!! Marinate on that sports people.
LOL "Curl looked wet, but it ws dry".
