Robert Goulet, who played Quentin Hapsburg is a famous American actor/singer. Most younger people would know him as the singing voices of Wheezy, the squeaker penguin in Toy Story and Mikey in the Disney cartoon Recess.
One detail I've just noticed: the guy in the shower scene is using a revolver with a silencer. You cannot normally "silence" a revolver, especially the type he is using. It can be done on specialized revolvers with closed cylinders (to hold the gasses from firing the bullets), but he was using a normal open cylinder, which means the blast from firing the gun can be heard even if you attach a suppressor (the official title; you can never truly silence any gun) to it.
That's not really the purpose of a silencer, though. You're not trying to mask the sound; you're trying to disperse it, which, along with reducing muzzle flash, helps make it much more difficult to locate where a shot came from, which is handy when you're shooting at someone who may want to shoot back.

It comes from the early days of cinema where the cameras were hand-cranked, so you needed heavy strong guys to hold the tripod down to prevent the camera from shaking as it recorded. They literally "gripped" the equipment. Nowadays they're responsible for basically all the hardware around cameras, like dolly tracks, armatures, etc. Another weird name is "gaffers". They're responsible for lighting, because it's long been a practice of studios to have sets with open ceilings that have a network of supports for various lights to be hung in various places. To add, substract, or move the lights, then, the workers would use gaffer poles, which are those long poles with the curved hooks you use to help land large fish on boats. Hence, they're gaffers, and are now responsible for more-or-less all the lighting and associated tasks. Rich history in Hollywood.
If you like this comedy, you would probably like the Police Academy films, they're a very similar style of humour. Another two to try would be "Clue" and "Murder By Death", both are good parodies of their genre.
Dawn, you might like Midnight Madness (1980) it's a scavenger hunt type movie and i think it might be secretly directed by George Lucas who made Star Wars
A few suggestions my fine Scottish lass: 1. Start the Revolution Without Me. (Gene Wilder, Donald Sutherland, 1970). Extremely funny; set in 1789 France. I don't believe any other reactor has done this - and what a shame. 2. 1917. Moving war movie and is very poignant. 3. O Brother Where Art Thou? (George Clooney, John Turturro) Great music and very funny.
Great reaction but can tell you haven't seen a few movies like ghost which is where they took that pottery making scene from or the shower scene from psycho
That 'old lady' is supposed to be Barbara Bush- I wouldn't expect someone your age & from another country to necessarily know her today, but she was First Lady of the United States when this movie was made.
In the 1980s I sat down to watch a TV series called Police Squad. This was the first time I had seen this type of humour where a lot of it is in the background, and one scene in particular had me laughing so much I was in real pain and didn't see much of the rest of that episode because I was still creased up laughing. I was hooked, but then the series finished after only six episodes. What? This was brilliant, why did they cancel it? The reason was because to be effective you have to actually sit down and watch this type of humour, and most Americans of the time usually only had the TV on as background, so they were missing it all. That's when the Zucker brothers decided to transfer Police Squad to the cinema. Hence the birth of Naked Gun. You can get the original six TV episodes on DVD.
I'm so happy that you enjoy these movies so much. I agree with you. I think 2 1/2 was even funnier than the first. As a fan of "The Twilight Zone," my favorite joke was Lloyd Bochner running around yelling "It's a cookbook!' (a reference to Bochner's iconic scene in the famous "To Serve Man" episode of "The Twilight Zone"), and as a fan of puns and double entendre, my second favorite was the "Is this some kind of bust?" exchange. I have a pretty low bar.

Rich history in Hollywood.
moustache 6ft 3. That a pretty tall moustache . That an Airplane style joke.
33 1/3 is also the speed of records... iirc, 72rpm, 45rpm, and 33 1/3 rpm.
You are so fun to watch! Looking forward to 33 1/3 and Airplane 2!
Great stuff. I really liked Airplane 2, but a lot of people don't rate it
I’ll defo give it a go!
If you like this comedy, you would probably like the Police Academy films, they're a very similar style of humour. Another two to try would be "Clue" and "Murder By Death", both are good parodies of their genre.
HECK YES. I'm so happy you did this Miss Dawn. I've had a rotten time recently and I need laughs.
these movies are always fun and watching someone else being enthusiastic and enjoying it too always makes them more enjoyable!
Hands down, you have the best laugh on the internet!
I agree with watching the movie Top Secret. But I'd also like to recommend Ice Pirates
I'm not usually a big fan of the Scottish accent but this lady has a cracking accent. :)
Dawn, you might like Midnight Madness (1980) it's a scavenger hunt type movie and i think it might be secretly directed by George Lucas who made Star Wars
A few suggestions my fine Scottish lass:
I haven't seen this movie in 25 years - it's still fun!
One of the best movies ever!
These reactions make me very very happy. 🥰🥰🥰
Great reaction but can tell you haven't seen a few movies like ghost which is where they took that pottery making scene from or the shower scene from psycho
It's called 2 1/2 because it's 2 1/2 times bigger. At least according to the original promotional material.
I think I would agree! 😁
Sledge Hammer is another amazing tv show that has a lot of similarities to this one, but maybe not quite as sill
Your laughs and smiles are uplifting. Keep them coming.
Can’t believe it’s been over 30 years since these movies came out. A lifetime ago! I forgot how much like classic Looney Tunes cartoons they are.
That old lady flirting with Nordberg: "you can hide *my* gloves anytime!".
@8:00 Dang it!!! You cut it off before the Weird Al cameo. He was the guy with the gun that Frank slammed into with the door.
I hated this movie the first time I saw it. Then someone told me that it was a comedy, and after that I enjoyed it a lot more.
Yes, after all it is really easy to mistake this for a dead serious political thriller.
LOL Liam Nielsen. Well u got the last name right. Liam Nesson & Leslie Nielsen r easy to mix up LOL. Loving your reactions.
That 'old lady' is supposed to be Barbara Bush- I wouldn't expect someone your age & from another country to necessarily know her today, but she was First Lady of the United States when this movie was made.
I nu nu you'd get to this! Also I am dying laughin over here lol
If you really want to laugh look up the Scottish grandmother reading “The Wonky Donkey” to her grandchild. It’s hilarious
how could someone give this a thumb down?
The scene with the clay molding was from "GHOST"...demi Moore and Patrick Swayze
That reaction to “That’s an awfully big moustache...” is on a par with “I fart in your general direction!” from _Monty Python and the Holy Grail._ 😅😅
@5:25 Laughs at joke
@5:27 Realises she shouldn’t laugh at joke.
Bad guy to Liam Nielsen, "surely you have a very particular set of skills", "I do, but stop calling me Shirley."
Liam Nielsen? Lol.
Great reaction as always, Dawn!
Wait until you see the opening to Naked Gun 33 and a third lol. Cant wait for that reaction. Keep them coming!
Suggestion?.
6 episode tv series.
Police squad with..
Leslie Nielsen. 😊
Closest thing I’ve seen to Naked Gun/Airplane/Police Academy since is A Touch of Cloth which I highly recommend
I just binged your comedy reactions. Your timing on this upload is the tits ! I hope you make it to BASEketball !
Hello again Dawn 🖐️I'm so glad your enjoying these Movies as much as I did,Frank dreiben is one of the funniest deadpan characters who wouldn't have wanted to meet Leslie Nelison with that fart device he was always useing in interviews,I still think you can't beat the original film & TV show. Here's more 80s comedys to add to that long list which I don't know if your ever get through, here it is anyway: Amazon Women on the Moon' (87) with some famous cameos/ Splash/Roxanne/something wild/Gregory's girl (I think everyone who Scottish has seen it) /Crimewave/Crocodile Dundee/Throw mama from the train/Police Academy franchise 😂 Look forward to next video. Take Care 💛
And when you finish The Naked Gun 33 1/3 and Airplane 2, it's time for History of the World Part 1. Please.
