Thank you for watching. This is only part 1 of this video. Part 2 will follow eventually when the trees are ready for further styling in which i look forward to sharing with you all 😁
Great start to this planting Callan. I am totally in agreement with you about repots. I am looking at at least another 2 weeks and if I was really honest I will go beyond that but just be a little more careful with the amount of roots removed or disturbed. It all comes down to aftercare in the end :)
Thanks Xav should look nice after some styling when it's ready. And absolutely its all about the care given after the "off time" repots. This forest is now going to be in some shade for the next week or so while it recovers then should be right as rain 😅
Excellent tree placement Callan. This forest will be (and already is) something to be very proud of. I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment. Isn’t that what this is all about?
Thanks Steve I am proud of the forest I may add more trees to it next year and bring them all in a little closer to each other but undecided as if yet 😅
i don't think the timing was wrong on the repot, ive done it for years. the only worry ( that no one points out ) is that the foliage is fragile and makes working delicate....but then thats what makes us bonsai people, so no worries there. Well done Callan, I have the Larch bug now too becuase all of you guys. ( i really love them )👊💚
Absolutely agree with you jon but there is abit of a strong opinion over here on when its best to repot larches 😅 Every one loves larches supposedly uncommon to see as bonsai but theyvare every where 😅
That's one of the beautiful things about bonsai. There is so many ways to do it 😁 I have bonsai from airlayers to but also from cuttings, Seed and dug up trees (yamadori)
Thank you for watching.

Great video And loved how you added a mud wall to the outer layers to the bonsai soil.. that's genius!
Glad you liked it! It should be looking alot better after some styling when the trees have recovered 😁

I thought bonsai needs air layering and some kind of root creams this is different from what I have seen but cool
