This is why I love this channel 👌🏼 a proper knowledgeable fisherman who doesn't care about the latest best gear and most popular brand of baits. Had some great tips from previous videos and always cracking content keep it up 👍
This is the best channel for the beginner. You tell us what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to do it. Then you actually show it. I've learned so much from the channel and it's actually showing results in my own fishing.
No fancy bait boats, spod rods, underwater technology, goo flavours and remote bite alarms. All this tech can put people off! Just good, proper fishing. Brill video!!
Graham is a different breed but most specimen hunters starts out like him. I started out with a couple of spinner rods and some monkeyclimbers. Every time I went to the fishing shop I'd find something and I'd think to myself 'well that's pretty handy' Now I have a set of gear with which I can fish under any circumstances and I've been to swims where I caught 10+ fish with some very big carp which I absolutely wouldn't have caught without my bait boat. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the way Graham fishes (heck, when I go float fishing for carp I use one of my Granddads old rod and reels must be around 45 y/o now) but it shouldn't be the other way around neither.
I just love Graham's outlook on Tackle etc... I must admit, I am a Tackle Tart, but slowly coming away from it, like clothing fashion too, I think it's age kicking in, I turned 41 lastweek and outlooks change in life... Its nice having lovely tackle, but so long as it does the job, thats all thats needed. lol also love how you try to hide makes and brands, then 2 seconds later we can all see what it is, lol, maybe use a plain bag Gaz, 90% of ppl know what they are anyways lol... ohhh I do love your videos, also makes me smile and cheers me up! keep doing you and doing your thing... one of the best RUclips Fishing channels... PS your matt needs to go inside the baby cradle matie lol
Thank you, Graeme. I love all your videos, you never fail to make me smile even when I don't feel like smiling. These longer adventures though I love so much, thank you for all your hard work that I know goes into making these films. :-)
Hello Graeme, fished in the same swim, many trips there its only a fifteen min drive, lovely lake though, might visit there later in the year, thanks for all the work, and the fun, you really know your stuff, all the best.
Graeme I like and watch nearly all your videos I go carp fishing and sea fishing in fact any kind of fishing I am 67 yrs old and been fishing since I was 5 and I know that the only thing squid is good for is, Tipping off black lug good god man you eat things any sane man would not turn over with a stick Seriously old boy keep em coming you are a true legend
I have fished Bury Hill once many years ago. One of the small lakes. Lovely place. Carp fishing has now sadly swamped our local lakes and I actually get comments when I pop down and floatfish with my small kit and stool. Even the swims are being urbanised to the size of a bobby with hedges cut accordingly. Even the fish get names there caught so many times. We have one 40+lb been out 5 times this year and that can’t be good for the fish☹️. It seems like anglers have forgotten other pleasures of fishing with ultra light tackle and catching other species. The cost of some of the tackle is astronomical and I’ve even seen a bivvy with a television Ariel, I go fishing to get away from all that rubbish!! Keep entertaining us Graeme , always enjoy watching you! Even the lockdown videos were great entertainment mate, thank you!
I know exactly what you mean..I once saw a guy set up an enormous kitchen tent next to his bivvy...he might as well have driven a caravan up to the lake and fished out the window...
As you said at one point Graham, " if you catch a fish, it's a bonus ". I often say that I don't go to catch fish, I just love the surroundings, and calmness of it all !! Escape from the daily pressures is priceless. Nice one Graham........ again !!!
Love all the videos and im a old carper from the 70s so I remember the old gear well but the reason people buy all the new gear is because they make it more comfortable and you will catch more fish but you don't have to use them
Thank you Graham great video and very helpful info. If you had no rod, line or bait I suspect that you would jump into the lake and start walking around it looking for a fish using your bare hands. 😉👍🍻
Man I love your videos. with all the turmoil in the world and here in the states it is so enjoyable to be able to relax and watch you fish heck you even make home repairs fun to watch lol thanks for what you do
I sincerely appreciate the amount of effort you put in to your videos to both inform and entertain us. This one looked like a herculean effort and provided us with great entertainment. Surely you must have to make several trips to the car to bring all your equipment to the bank, then you have to set it all up (rods, filming gear and the "tent"). Then after the session take it all down run it back to the car in the pouring rain. Yet you make better productions than the BBC without any support. You are a legend and thanks for continuing to provide high quality content for us to enjoy.
It can be a bit of an effort doing it all on my own,but the best item I have is Mike's trolley thing...it really is useful at my age. Can't think why I never had one before.(Still took 2 trips to the car/swim on this trip though, the bivvy and all that Carpy stuff takes up space).
Hey I find that when you have to use a big carp net tuck the net into the gap where the Y is. The weight of the fish will push it down into the net. Saves the net hanging down hitting stuff or tearing you arm off.
I remember getting my first heron bite indicator in 1978 wired it to a extension box to reach inside my polythene golf umbrella (bivvy)🤣 had to pack it with cotton wool because the sound was that loud when it went off the bloke in the next lake struck!!!!

Hey Graeme, I was on the fence on piling in tons of boilies on long sessions and just started using PVA bags/stockings to be more economical with the bait going in and I like the idea of the groundbait snowballs. Nice to see these tactics work, I'm a Yorkshireman so makes sense not spending so much to nick a bite. Great video mate!
I started just firing out a random pva stocking and hookbait last year to save on loose boilies, found I seemed to catch just as much . Mind you it was on waters where everyone was belting out boilies so I feel the Carp are well used to someone feeding them regularly ...just not me.

Hi Graeme, there is actually a reason to ban tents on lakes. Some disagree, some agree with it but the general rule is it's a mild deterrent of what's known as the "Argos angler" - basically cheap, easily broken gear. Most places want only people who know what they're doing to do a night session. If you're using a cheap tent & the ropes come loose at 2am, accidents can happen. Bivvies are usually a lot sturdier and robust than tents so there is less chance of someone doing themselves warm in the pitch black of night. I often wondered this myself as some tents (green ones too!) looked like they'd the job for me but after asking my local lakes, this is what they told me. These are lakes that don't sell tackle neither so no fooling me. Granted I think you rocked up with a tent that looked sturdy enough I don't think anyone would bother you about it. They just don't want you getting a 30 quid tent from Tesco and causing yourself warm in the pouring rain at 3am because it falls down.

Another great video, on another tack, do you miss the tropical trips, I know I do and my travels are nothing compared to you, but what I did the fish really did pull my string
Yes,sitting in a bait in the tropics pulling some lures and waiting for a crash strike from a marlin is missed...All that warm tropical air, blue skies and cold beers ....,but with air travel now it might be a thing of the past for me. The Bluewater species really do fight the hardest.
G day mate i near on screamed when i seen you put the carp back, but then i remebered your in England. Here in australia they are a pest. So can not be put back in the water. Good Catches and also a brilliant vidoe to you Sir🏅🏅🏅💯💯💯. Any Advice on how to land a Common Carp in South Africa. I've been using mainly soft baits, and our local feeds to attract and to also have a hook up. But in the past months they are more attracted sweet scents.
I'm new to fishing it's fascinating, although I'm not very good it's very enjoyable caught a perch and bream hoping to glean some useful information from your channel, subbed.
I like the pacific tuna boilies anyways, but i bought some of the hard hookbaits. Between the fish you caught on them in previous videos and the Pullen seal of approval i'll give them a try xD

One of your best Graeme ! So much info re bivvy etc. Thank You !
Sound was a bit off but I thought the info might help beginners .
@@TAFishing I get the feeling that ,tackle makers (probably all out of the same factory , same as TV screens) are having us on. Now a bivvy is no good without a wrap ETC ETC
"Excuse me, I think I'm using a normal fishing rod that's not broken this time..." Classic Pullen. LMAO! 😂
Legend has it this lake is almost as ancient as his tackle and tactics, The golf ball groundbait by the looks of it too.
and his clothes !! and have you seen the state of his car ?...and its not even camouflage green...got to be 10 years old if its a day.
loving em Graham keep em coming👍👍👍
Fantastic, again!!
Burry Hill it is my favourite.. No1
loved the vid. A little advice - not on fishing but on cooking. Max heat and ca.15-20 sec. to cook that squid :-)
Nash Bolt Machines for distance Surface fishing great video fished off the punts when i went love the fishery
Michael's fancy carp rods broken but the ol trusty avons from 30 years ago still going strong!
Nice video. Thank you for sharing it. You have my support. :))))
You know he’s living the life🇬🇧👍
i love the long videos sets up my whole evening
Another great video Graeme
Very good video thanks you
G day mate i near on screamed when i seen you put the carp back, but then i remebered your in England. Here in australia they are a pest. So can not be put back in the water. Saying that thou been watching TA out doors and i just got on to u after a while i really enjoy this. U can make carp rissoles taste awesome. Anyway cheers
Another fantastic video so very informative and fun just how fishing should be 👍 is smith on lockdown still 😀
If you're only looking to drop a couple of boilies next to your hookbait, you can also get pva string.
It's a little bit cheaper.
When I fished over there it was mostly sweetcorn that I caught on,but bread also works, providing you can find the fish first.
Been a pleasure old Boy, broken rods still work.
Some great advice there greyo cheers pal 👍
I'm new to fishing it's fascinating, although I'm not very good it's very enjoyable caught a perch and bream hoping to glean some useful information from your channel, subbed.
thanks graeme for the vid a long one to have a great weekend
Bury hill. Good fishing
Waiting all day love the vids as always and thank you
Friday night viewing sorted
Graeme, it's me again. I think we should try to use baits sooner. The carp deserve fresh food.
Great video Greame. I think I've been over wetting my Bailey's & bran as it's very sticky?
What a legend 👊🏻😎
I love a friday. Best vids on youtube.
I like the pacific tuna boilies anyways, but i bought some of the hard hookbaits. Between the fish you caught on them in previous videos and the Pullen seal of approval i'll give them a try xD
