Truth be told.. I wasn’t even going to upload this, but the more I thought about it, there was a lesson to be had for everyone watching the video. I know lots of you wrench as a hobby. It's how I found the same passion we all share. I decided to upload this because I LEARNED A LESSON (the hard way) and want YOU to LEARN from my mistake. Before any time behind the windshield I want you to ALWAYS ENSURE: 1. Steering is 110% 2. Braking is 110%. 3. Suspension is 110% We were so hyper focused on #2 + #3 that we missed #1 (Being that one small bolt that holds the steering shaft onto the gear assembly). If anything else failed, you can control the truck. I'm grateful of the outcome (back road, etc) and I'm even more thankful I can share this as a lesson for you to avoid ever making the same mistake.
Honestly when I first seen this I was hoping it was fake and still am lol but it is definitely a good lesson to be learned glad everyone and everything is okay
The fact that your first response was to make sure everyone was okay shows your character! You guys are lucky and I'm glad no one got hurt that was scary!
I’m thankful God protected you guys and it wasn’t any worse. We really aren’t promised another breath, but I’m glad you guys are safe. Keep up the good work gents!
That was a big blessing! I'm glad that no one got hurt. I've got to tell you, that truck sounds so sweet. You guys have really done a beautiful job on her!!
That first clip of the accident had my stomach sink! I have been in love with this build & love the channel. So happy God had his protecting hand with y’all’s safety, hug your sweet family extra tight.
OBS frames are absolutely crazy. Things have so much flex in them you think every bushing and body mount on the truck is non existent. Glad all you boys and the truck are all good
Could’ve been worse, just glad everyone is okay. My dad always reminds me that even if you make a mistake, you still learn from it. it’s not a total loss or worth beating yourself up over. Stay positive, learn from it, and move on.
One thing I have learned is once something is checked and torqued, mark ot with a paint marker. Mark it on the stud and nut or the bolt and whatever it'd bolted to. You can verify that it has been checked and torqued and also if it starts coming loose
Glad everyone is OK. Mark every bolt with a red marker after you tighten it down. You can go as far to put reference marks on the bolts or nuts as long as the marks stay aligned they are still tight
Glad everyone is OK, including the OBZ. I bought a single cab Cat eye 2500HD once and the previous owner had taken the clip off of the break rod to the petal, unknown to me. The petal fell off the rod when I was driving down hill on a dirt road thankfully by downshifting and then putting it in neutral as I came up the next hill I was able to get it in park. Definitely a weird and humbling feeling when all the sudden you don’t have control of steering or brakes or somethings vital.
Glad you all are ok and this was on a slow test drive. But keep your chins up cause we're all looking forward to that baby rolling down the road..... And turning corners and heads as well.
Super glad you guys are ok! I definitely feel you when you say it was a very scary experience but like you said, it’s something to learn from! Regardless the truck looks beautiful and Im super happy its near completion! Keep up the great work and vids!
Scary moment for sure, my brother in law lost his 34" bogger mid turn on the front axle, always good when it just needs a couple bolts put back and nobody gets hurt
I have had issues like this over the years myself as well as my technicians so lessons learned and hopefully the last lesson of this type and man the flex really looked like it was jacked
I love the appearance of that truck, almost my ideal truck. In my dream version, identical build but with 6.7 cummins. Having said that I think the way you did it the way you wanted it is super badass. Glad the truck and you guys are okay
Fail forward❣️❣️❣️ that's awesome! I love it and live it! Building custom homes is constant learning and adapting! Keep kickin ass and do yalls best to stay safe guys, we love your videos!
I hate that happened to you in the truck you building with pride but It cool to see you being real and showing the real side of things how it ain’t always sunshine and shit does happen!! But truck lives on for another day 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I’m sorry for your loss man I just lost my truck too it’s totaled☹️ at least everyone’s still alive to be here and rebuild or grind and find something even better next time
Glad every one is healthy and not hurt in any way! That said, l am glad that the truck is not broken, dented, scratched or totaled! All is well when you can drive it back on the trailer. ✌🏻🧡🇨🇦🤘.
Yeah these trucks are built to flex, it is how they are designed to run ttb suspension on leaf springs - it allows the truck to have full suspension articulation. Kinda just an older style of how they were built.
I lost steering at 60mph on a 2nd Gen Ram years ago. Tie rod came apart somehow. Luckily the right front caliper was sticking and when I mashed the brakes it pulled hard to right and put me down in the ditch. Grateful it didn’t pull to the left because that would’ve been a head on collision.
holleee! this happened to me going 65 in my brand new 2021 ram 1500 with a 8 inch lift on 24x14s and 37s. steering column snapped and luckily pulled me right off the road and just missed a tree instead of the concrete barrier next to me on the left. 10k later in parts up front we got it back on the road
In a pinch a dime will fit in a flat head slot on those clamps. Stoked to see your doing well, its beem While since i seen your vidjers pop up!! Stay safe and take care
my steering shaft came loose when was driving into a parking lot last summer I was glad it didn't happen anywhere else it is a very scary feeling when you loose control of your vehicle glad it wasn't any worse than what happened.
Damn dude that’s terrible I’m just glad everyone was ok a truck can definitely be fixed and replaced, but it’s still an amazing looking truck still my dream truck
Lucky you weren't around those bridge abutments you just passed. Glad your alright boys.. take care trust your ear and your but on test drives always lol
I would love to put a duramax in both my trucks. One being a manual transmission and the other a simple auto. But no one around here has the ability too install it or the time.
You will prevail bubba ,but I think the truck Gods we’re mad at the D going in the ford ,Cummins is the only entity that should be swapped , however this is a first anyone has ever done this though and it’s sickkkkkk so there’s some comic relief if it helps bubba 🤟🏽
Man I had a loss of brakes and steering in this old pos chevy 5500 and I was coming off a hill to a turn at 45mph and hit curbs and some how didn't crash or kill anyone it was scary man so I feel ya on that
Truck did the honorable thing and decided to off itself instead of suffer through a life of dirty max jokes and ridiculous "sick dawg dopiddy dope" wheels...
The main thing is that you and your extremely bada*s crew is safe. You're still alive and the truck is still okay, at least it's not a crash like "Crude Diesels". Anyway keep up the goods. : )

Glad you guys are OK and solid!
Yes so true
Those old fords have a lot of flex
Honestly when I first seen this I was hoping it was fake and still am lol but it is definitely a good lesson to be learned glad everyone and everything is okay

Definitely glad everyone is ok! I do have to admit, that body flex was CRAZY !
That was a big blessing! I'm glad that no one got hurt. I've got to tell you, that truck sounds so sweet. You guys have really done a beautiful job on her!!

Glad y'all are ok. Awesome of you to immediately ask if your buddies were good.
So glad you guys are ok. I love how transparent you are and how you share so much with all of your followers

Torque marks. Manufacturers and even the military use this practice.
Couldn’t have had a any better , bad , first drive ! Thankful you guys are okay. Just part of it , can’t wait to see you ripping in this thing. 😎
Glad everyone is OK. Mark every bolt with a red marker after you tighten it down. You can go as far to put reference marks on the bolts or nuts as long as the marks stay aligned they are still tight
Jakes first words after, “ Yeah I’m good, good save “ . Positive people needed around like him 24/7 .
Glad you boys are ok and it wasn’t bad😮😅

I'd have to say that lift kit saved the truck honestly glad y'all all good 👍🏿 stay blessed
Redline tuning makes a hood shock kit that gets rid of the factory ones. I’ve personally installed several on customer trucks and they are worth it!
Glad you all are ok and this was on a slow test drive. But keep your chins up cause we're all looking forward to that baby rolling down the road..... And turning corners and heads as well.
Glad y’all are ok and no major damage done to the truck. First clip of the accident had my stomach sink.
Super glad you guys are ok! I definitely feel you when you say it was a very scary experience but like you said, it’s something to learn from! Regardless the truck looks beautiful and Im super happy its near completion! Keep up the great work and vids!

This is in OHIO I live in Newark love to just look at this thing sorry about the wreck glad it didn't brake anything badly

Not to troll, generally want to know but if you lost steering & crashed, how did you steer it onto the trailer?
I would love to put a duramax in both my trucks. One being a manual transmission and the other a simple auto. But no one around here has the ability too install it or the time.
Glad you guys are ok!! Awesome content!!!!
That’s always a great way to start the day🤣
seen my buddy’s old ford in some sticky spots and would swear it’s about to fall apart but they just go back straight 😂
You will prevail bubba ,but I think the truck Gods we’re mad at the D going in the ford ,Cummins is the only entity that should be swapped , however this is a first anyone has ever done this though and it’s sickkkkkk so there’s some comic relief if it helps bubba 🤟🏽
Thanks for the video keep up the great work

Like my dad always told me , it could've been worse .
Bs
As rare as the truck is the truck is replaceable you can’t be…. glad you are good
Truck did the honorable thing and decided to off itself instead of suffer through a life of dirty max jokes and ridiculous "sick dawg dopiddy dope" wheels...
use a paint marker on every bolt and nut after you tighten it so you know you tighten and do t have to question yourself … what i do✌🏻😎
One hell of a truck. She's really making you guys earn it.
Torque stripe everything as you go and also safety wire certain things like on aircraft
Hey man I’m just glad it wasn’t worse. Y’all are still in front of the camera and that’s what matters.
Glad you guys are okay
Noo dang glad y’all good though
Glad everybody is ok. I guess now we can say that's the first obs dmax swap to get towed.
The main thing is that you and your extremely bada*s crew is safe. You're still alive and the truck is still okay, at least it's not a crash like "Crude Diesels". Anyway keep up the goods. : )
OBS frames have a massive amount flex
Thank god you guys are okay and nothing worse happened
Glad Noone was hurt but loosin steering is bad yall are lucky
Same thing happened to me in my Perkins diesel ranger…. Hit a car head on at 60 almost killed me
