Lowrider culture is like the opposite of race culture. "Then you add 200 pounds worth of batteries to power the 400 pounds of hydraulic systems so that the car can hop!" But really though I enjoy living vicariously through other people so I can appreciate a well done lowrider.
hopefully you found one by now, I just got my first one a few months ago, its a 75 Lincoln continental, no hydros yet but its lowered and came with a bad ass system, and custom wire wheels with white walls. just got a custom plate that says "LOWLUV" & took her out to a lowrider meet up for the first time last night with my fam. one of the best feelings ever lol
I just got a 1967 Poniac Belleville 4 doors what’s the best to start with the hydraulics setup I live in San Diego and its very expensive to get good parts
Michel Johnson there are several possible causes, I would first look everywhere around the car to see if you have a leak anywhere, if you do, fix it. Second, a bad check valve could be the cause. Third, trash in your fluid that is getting caught in your dump valve or check valve causing it to stay open just a little, if that is it, you have to drain the tank and pull the tank off, wipe it out the best you can to remove any trash.
Have it aligned professionally at ride height, aside from that, there is nothing more you can do to keep it right. The alignment constantly changes are you go up and down.
What's the difference between 6 prong and 3 prong switches. Can I use a 6 prong to 3 wheel or do I have to use a 3 prong switch. Also is it possible to do a standing 3 wheel with a 2 pump 8 battery setup in a 64 impala
Michael Mckay 3prong switch is made to run one pump up and one dump down, 6 prong is meant to run 2 pumps up and 2 dumps down, however can be used for just one up and one down. I have another video about wiring that may help better. It is completely possible to have a standing 3 wheel with a 2 pump. I'll post an in depth video today to answer those specific questions. Stay tuned.
Posted ruclips.net/video/ZtbUq8uV_d0/видео.html To answer your other question, yes it is possible to have standing 3 with 2 pumps 8 batteries. We just did one with that exact setup. What you have to do is make sure to put 4 batteries on each side, make sure you cut out the tunnel for the drive shaft to be able to go through, have individual wheel switches, replace factory banana bar in the rear suspension with a Y bar so the rear end can swivel, the factory banana bar restricts it from moving the way the it needs to in order to 3 wheel, lift the front all the way up, lift the back all the way up, drop one back corner. That should do it. Assuming your running 12s or larger in the rear. If running 14s or larger, you'll need to probably go with a wish bone and consider getting extended trailing arms, thats what I've done on mine but I'm running 20 inch cylinders on my impala, and before you ask, my impala is still being worked on and I don't have videos yet. I will post them someday but I have a ton of work to do. Hope that helps Michael.
I dont think so. Not an expert about lowriders but I do know about hydraulics. This is what I think. when you lower (dump) any part of the suspension, whats happening is that you're releasing pressure. Pretty much a valve opens and the weight of the car puts pressure on hydraulic suspension allowing the fluid to be released, which in turn will lower the car.
Russell Harris Lowrider Hydraulics ,I'm in Mt Juliet, was just in Clarksville yesterday, anyway, I purchased my pro hopper setup back in 2008 in Ca,with intentions of having it installed on my 96 towncar, got married, then divorced, moved back to Ca,moved back here, blah, blah, blah,,anyway I never got around to installing them, still have them, still have the car as well,I have everything but batteries, but don't really know anyone here in TN to get with who's into lowriding, would love to get the Lincoln finally lifted

Drayton Mays minimum $1000 if you do it yourself, and that’s a pretty basic setup. If you have someone reputable do it probably $3000 starting out. Depends on what you want really.

Russell Harris then why does your truck on jump around a foot? i thought 48v and a piston would do alot better than that.. i know ur runnin a lower profile tire but is that the only thing thats stoppin it from hoppin higher
fuzzy wuzzy it's a mixture of a few things, my slow downs could be opened more, the rims and tires are a big factor, Springs are cut pretty low so the truck will sit low on 20s, weight distribution is a factor because it is a truck with no weight in the rear to help it seesaw like cars do. When I built the truck it was only meant to be a little cruiser, not a hopper at all, just a toy, had one when I was 17 with Hydraulics and wanted another while I finish my Impala. If I really wanted it to hop, I'd add two more batteries because the pump can handle it, change the rims to some wires and put about 80 psi in the tires, add a little more weight to the back, open the slow downs, change out the Springs to a fuller stack and then roll out. But like I said, it's just a toy, I have my Impala to go crazy with.
I want to build a low rider some day, trying to learn how the hole thing works first before I start saving up haha

Study Hydraulics.
There are millions of applications.

Can you make a video of how to run the hoses from the pump to the cylinders on a 64 impala?
CAN YOU SHOW US HOW TO PUT IN A STEAL SEAL AND THE TORQUE down on pump head. And what pump head's are good for front or back. thank's good vid's.
Would like some info on the hardlines. Did you flare them or are they pressure fittings & if so where did you get them from?

No. They are single acting cylinders. They are only powered in one direction. Extending not retracting.

Why do you need the batteries?🤔
Do you think I can make a lowrider with a Renault 5?
I’m sure you can but it will not fit the traditional lowrider style. Anything can be a lowrider if you want it to be.

Looks like teflon tape on the check valves. Don't use teflon tape. It's not a sealant.
Not sure why you think that but we use Teflon tape on all fittings except for JIC, otherwise they will leak.
Teflon tape is also always used on water and gas lines, like everywhere, by professionals, so i don’t see how it wouldn’t be a sealant.
