Russel you should have put a blow proof seal they work very bad ass and for the rear try some #7s if u use 3 or less batts and #9 for 6 or less on dbl rear pumps as well and #11 marz if u can find the 99/00 with the heart shape seals I haven't tried the newer bmh gears I bet they work good tho the pantheon ones take a look at them and them blow proofs are bad ass
I use blow proof seals on every application, this is an old video and the focus was on the pumphead seals. I don’t use #7 unless it’s on a dancing bed. The BM pumpheads are nice, good design.
I use 10w30 motor oil in my piston. Now you have me thinking that I should be running hydraulic fluid. If I replace the oil in my tank with hydraulic fluid but leave the oil in my lines would it be ok?
Blow proof seals are a newer product that are suppose to withstand breaking better. They are only for the shaft seal though. I am running them on my dancer but and over time I will replace them on all my other rides. They do provide better protection against fluid getting into the motor. Rudy at Primo Seals sells them. Not very expensive and worth the money.
When you say you released the pressure, are you saying you loosened the hose to drain some of the fluid and it still won’t lower? If so, a few things could be happening. The cylinder may have bent and will need to be replaced. You could have a spring or cup in a bind not letting it down. I would put a jack under the frame and jack the car up and see if anything is in a bind, take a hammer and hit the cylinder a few times on all sides to see if you can free it up and then slowly let the car back down. Let me know how it turns out.
Hey Russell I have a question for you I'm putting a new gear on my car if I torque those 4 screws on top what about the 2 screws on the bottom do I losen those a bit or do I leave them as they are there kind of tight ?
Could be any number of things. If it’s a cheap China pumphead, if your fluid hasn’t been changed and there is metal shavings that are cutting up your seal. Too much pressure on a cheaper pumphead. Wrong kind of fluid. Would need more details to know what the problem is.
@@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS I have a #11 Marzocchi it keeps blowing the seal on the pressure side I believe that’s the side that you bolt up. I clean the tank and add new fluid each and every time I’ve even taken the whole gear apart and blew every part with air. I’ve used hydraulic fluid as well as motor oil and gear oil and same thing over and over. It also does the same thing with the cheaper gears
There is a few causes to blow seals. Since you’ve had the same issue with several pump heads my question would be how many batteries are you running to the pump? The more batteries the more possibility for it to blow a seal. Pushing the limits. If you are only running let’s say 6 or less, I’d say buy a new pumphead, the one you have may be defective.
Great explanations as usual. Invaluable info for us people in far off places nowhere near an active lowrider scene
Very helpful brother thank you for the great information!!!
On that blow proof seal when installed did your gear still turn by hand because mine doesn't

What’s a good website to get parts mine is goin same thing I probably had same issue remplace the pump head 😢
First open the pumphead and find out if the seals are bad. If they are, just about any hydraulic shop has seals.

Can I do this without removing the set up
Hell yea finally a video
Been busy with show season starting. Appreciate the support 🔥👍🏻
Can you do a video on positive camber and why people do it
Great content ! What are blow proof seals ? And can you share on this topic

For sure hit up Rudy I get all my seals from him
Is there a website to buy lowriders? I've looked and haven't found anything that looks legit.
I thought this vid might've shown the replacement of the E's...only bcuz there's the rubber & poly(plastic) seal in one.....SHUCKS🤣
Hey brother my car went up but it doesnt go down. I tried releasing pressure and that didn’t work any other ideas

They should all be at the same foot pound. 👍🏻
Great vid do you have primos number?
My seal keeps blowing what are the possible causes?

@@kaygeehtv174 might be dumb to ask, but you’re not overlocking it a lot are you? From what you described it seems like that could be a reason.
