- After two months, I give my thoughts on my newest watch, the IW 344202. Also address comments about the “jumping hands” phenomenon when seeing the Mark XX, and quality of the ease exchange traps.

As an IWC fan and someone who has owned several different IWC models I appreciate your content going deep into this brand from a collecting point of view. Very few videos like yours on you tube from that perspective. Thx for the video and keep them coming please.
I’m thinking of where to go next. Big pilot annual calendar (neo-vintage)? Big pilot/perpetual? I think it’ll be a classic big IWC statement piece. But I suspect I’ll need to be responsible for the rest of 2024.

I have the black dial. Originally I wanted the white dial. But my wife surprised me with a different white dress watch (Longines) so I didn’t really need another white dial
I can’t express enough how much I’m enjoying this black dial. I don’t know what it is, but there is something about it. I can’t stop looking at it and admiring it

It’s a keeper! You have enough watches to find wear, some pieces in a collection are not meant to be worn all the time. It can be yoilur Sunday church watch, an evening dinner watch, or a special occasion piece for unique once in a lifetime memory, for example, weddings and graduations. No need to get rid of it imo.
With the new strap, it’s stunning. I’m not getting rid of it for sure!

I don’t really see a place for the ingenieur in my collection. My wrist fluctuates so much in size throughout the day that I know I can’t get a proper fit. But if they ever develop one with interchangeable straps or a Vacheron style adjustment, I may have to suck it up and go see the AD.
Seriously considering the Mark XX and your feedback is helpful as I think about possibly purchasing that.
If you order new, make sure to get a free leather strap. The online boutique will add one. Or get an AD to throw one in, or give a small discount. If somehow you can’t negotiate it, the 1916 company can hook you up at cost.
I have the Mark 18 and I love it. Why do I also also want the Mark 20 🤔😬

I think the gold is top tier perpetual calendar. Anything else will be bogged but not better. I like how you talk about what you like and dislike, and what you use the different watches for.
It is an amazing timepiece. Glad you enjoy the watches.
