Those new IWC Potugieser models are so well proportioned and clean looking.IWC and JLC seem like brands just below holy trinity level that give you Intrinsic value and high quality for those who can’t make the move to the next level.
I’m a watch novice, and have been binge watching ur videos this whole week since I’ve found it. Your channel provides great info and is entertaining as well. Keep it up!!
Great video. I have been blessed with both the 5396G-014 with Arabic numerals and the 5205R-001. (Wearing in my pic) The 5205 is a slightly larger watch 40mm vs. 38.5.,and is stunning in white and rose gold. The day and month on the 5396 is a little small and harder to read, but has the great Arabic numerals. I would recommend either.
I am going to get clowned for this, but I don’t really care for Patek pieces. They are just not my thing. I love watches and what they do for the industry, but that white gold annual calendar is $44k and that from JLC would be $20kish... I just don’t see it.
Rolex maintenance: vintage & new -- differences? Especifically, can you expect newer Rolexes will last longer or vintages, if maintained properly, last forever?
Warning. Visiting an AD is very dangerous. I leisurely ventured into a Tudor dealer last weekend. I wasn't seeking to buy anything in particular. Surprisingly they had a Black Bay 58 instore. So I tried it on but didn't buy it. Went home to think about it. Then went back to the store next day. It already sold. Problem is I never had much interest in the watch before. But having tried it on. Perfect! I need one now. This is an experience you just can't get just looking at the watch on the web. You need to see watches in the flesh as Anthony suggested
@@fullymechanical9055 Keep an eye on Official Watches, it wouldn't surprise me if the end up stocking it! But yeah with it being 42 it is quite a chunk. Great recognition however. Slainte friend.
The problem with gold is that the markup is way too high in pretty much every brand. You’re paying over ten grand more for eight hundred dollars worth of gold. If they price the watches what they are worth instead of trying to gouge then gold would see more popularity.
@@chuckkeller3012 Not really but for the sake of argument let us say sure. The amount of 18k gold in a standard Portuguese is 16 grams, so we will generously double it to 32 grams. At a current price of $44.16 times 32 that’s $1,413.12 worth of gold. Compare the price of steel with gold versions and wince.
I love my IWC Portugueser Perpetual Calendar. It’s a super fine watch.

This has turned into one of my favorite videos. Knowledge shared as well as love for watches ... past and present.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Always a great time chatting Christian, looking forward to our next conversation.
WatchWithMe - Such a great video!!
That last Patek is truly beautiful. To own The 5170 is truly a goal in life.
Ugh, that cardigan is amazing. Great video!
Any ID on it? Maybe Jcrew?
Anyone have an answer on this? Would buy this cardigan asap
Who thinks Christian's coffee cup was empty the whole time? Lol 🙋🏻♂️
It was filled with Jack Daniels ;)

Welcome to the hobby brother.
One day I may grow to like small watches but until then I’ll appreciate your admiration for them.
Only two things in this video get under my skin... the way IWC keeps cutting off Arabic indices and the way Christian whistles the C in IWC.
Portugieser Chrono, White dial, blue numerals, one of the most gorgeous watches I have ever seen. One day.......
What brand is your cardigan, Christian!! I love it!!!

Less than 40 grand! A steal.
Love The Hindu-Arabic numerals that IWC uses.

you can only appear on this type of video if you have airpods if not christian doesn't call you 😂😂
😂😂😂
I try the 44MM same as the big one in the show, it’s superb

My boy Anthony!!
Really fun video, the Crash is a great fun piece. Love me some IWC
Where's Ana? Missed her monday's content
Anthony couldn’t agree more

Great video guys. Too bad you can’t go there yourself Christian. 😃
Sweet Long Island accent. Feel like I’m watching Hugh Jackman in Bad Education.
Would you give your take on the new Patek Philippe "Irish" edition on a RANT&H?
Being Irish, I think they did a good job on the green, but way too big at 42mm. At 25 pieces and 90.5K, they may all be gone. Slainte.

Oh so you got the Cartier Crash!? Wow.
The design on the watch is reat. But i will never understand why the brands cut numerals because of a Perpetual calendar or a chrono hole.

There is a lot more than eight hundred dollars worth of gold in my IWC Portuguese perpetual calendar

But MORE IMPORTANTLY- how tasty was that delicious pineapple???
Wait, you're not Anna.
Nothing wrong with ‘ladies’ watch as sizes get crazy huge 👍🏻
Great relationship with a reputable dealer
Ha! So you do, do it on purpose! You actually pronounced ‘Theo’ normally this time haha
I stopped seeing this video when i saw that cartier abomination. Ugliest watch in the history of watch making
