Love your soft speaking voice and informative commentary; your videos never disappoint and have provided me with great solo traveling ideas. You manage to find the quaintest little towns and villages and share relevant historical data, visitor must see spots, good eating shops, lodging, and I appreciate your public transportation tips the most. Excellent channel; I have enjoyed all your videos and thank you for sharing your love of exploring with us all.
Hi once more and thank you from down under 🦘🇦🇺. It’s been a total joy touring this lovely place with you. We discovered it by chance on a UK trip some years ago and now hold it as one of our all time gems. Staying in a B&B right on Waterside, we managed a row on the river on a beautiful sunny day, as the church bells were ringing out, one of many fond memories of this splendid town.
What a beautiful recording with a fanistic commentary with a beautiful clear voice! Very nice that you always present fascinating subjects, compliments. I hope to enjoy your films for a long time to come, together with my wife.
Greetings Simon & Will! While all of your videos are completely marvelous and outstanding, this one is also, however, in a different, gracious, and humbling way. Knaresborough! Wow! How do y'all keep finding these beautiful towns? The place is gorgeous, simply gorgeous! It bestows an aura that is totally loyal, yet at the same time, passionately intriguing, peaceful and serene, and solidly romantic and adoring. I hope this makes sense? I thoroughly enjoyed this video. There's something about Knaresborough that is so very alluring and enchanting in a very gentle, kind and righteous way. Wow!
Brings back memories. It’s a lovely town. As a very small boy in the early 1960s my older sister took me out on one of the hire boats. I returned to Knaresborough for a while in the late 80s and lived in the gatehouse of Mother Shipton’s Cave and the Long Walk.
Visited twice absolutely stunning, like walking in a living picture so peaceful. If staying in Yorkshire go for a daytrip there you wont be disappointed. Its so worth it
Another outstanding video of a beautiful village. The scenes were stunning and the narration was interesting, informative, and amusing. This would be a great place to include with a visit to York. Thanks.
Well every week I say the same thing..." what a lovely place" ...🤣 but its true, you are always showing us so many lovely areas. You would certainly keep fit if you lived in that town, all those stairs. Such a lovely day for exploring too. Thanks again for sharing. Another invite, obviously you two are getting well known for your promotions of the towns you visit. ❤🙂 cheers Cheryl
Thanks Cheryl, yes indeed it would keep you fit walking all the steps! Quite a contrast in days. We filmed Pateley the day before and that was a bit grey. We did enjoy seeing the sunshine for a change.
I love that town. I stayed for a week once, and liked it so much, I came back the next year and stayed for two weeks. It's a great central point for surrounding towns too. Greetings from Canada.
As usual that was a Beautiful video…Everything over there is breathtaking. And another well done bit of filming your Lordship 🙏🏼. Thank You again for sharing your video.☮️&💟
Hello Simon and Will 🖐. Knaresborough is lovely and so peaceful. This is an example of why I always come back to visit England. It offers such a variety of beautiful countrysides, quaint villages, interesting history and so much more. Thank you for putting so much effort into your vlogs 🙏. Greetings from Germany
Oh my word this was incredible! An absolutely wonderful town full of treasure after treasure! The Aquaduct is stunning from every view & angle. It would be difficult to choose a favorite vantage point, haha. There’s so much to see & discover @ almost every turn. Thank u so much for videoing Knaresborough. It was true eye candy galore! Take care.
GM Simon & Will ~ As always you never disappoint!! Showing us & sharing the history of this charming & magical town! We will be in England, Scotland and Wales in August & hope to see, in person, more of your beautiful country. Thanks for taking us along on these places we may never get to visit. All the best to you both! And who knows maybe I'll see you in August ~ 😄🙋🏻♀️💕💫
I visited Knaresborough last year. It didn’t disappoint, I do wish I had seen this video first though because I didn’t go to Mother’s cave. It’s always worth watching these type of videos so you get to see everything. I appreciate also that this video wasn’t ruined by inappropriate muzak
Such a captivating video 👌 must appreciate your efforts in presentation & narration which is quite fascinating, while the natural sounds of birds are so soothing & relaxing.. your England travel never stop surprising me, every time the place u visit is so compelling & it's info is always the best & perfect.. 😊 love the video
Hi Simon and Will! Knaresborough is a pretty town indeed. The River Nidd sounds like the name of a fairytale. Maison Parfaite invited you to explore here as well. How wonderful! I took quite a few screen shots. I especially loved the view of the viaduct from above and the old castle mill converted dwellings by the water. What I’d give to have a peek inside. Your videos are always such a joy to watch. Thanks again to you both. Stay well. ❤
My grandfather was the MD of Castle Mill linen mill, now flats, and I spent much of my early childhood playing around the weir. He was the last recorded person able to weave a seamless shirt. And he was the longest serving chairman of the urban district council. All forgotten now.
I absolutely love your videos. It's such a joy to be able to enjoy lovely places like this and hear about their history. Thank you so much for sharing!
My mother was a Metcalfe and I was always told that we’re distant relations to blind Jack. I was also told that until recent times, only a Metcalfe was allowed to be the town crier, and the job was passed down from generation to generation of Metcalfes. Great video! I’m more determined now to visit.
I just love your history lessons. Good grief the intermarriage of famous and infamous families probably led to quite a bit of inbreeding through the ages. I've been looking at listening to podcasts when I'm in the car and just wondered if your vlogs would work. Probably not in the present format but might try just having a vlog running and see if it's viable. Thanks as always =-)
A couple of people have mentioned a podcast, certainly something to consider but at the moment with full time work its all we can do, to get a video out on time. 😂😊😀
What a beautiful and very interesting town! The hills and river, as well as the train station and market square add a level of energy. And I love a good castle, lol. The history of the original family (and their ups and downs) is fascinating. And Mother Shipton! An intriguing story! Caves and grottoes and magic wells. Thank you again for a lovely visit to another Yorkshire town off the beaten path.
Thanks Simon and Will for another great video. Your commentary is first class. We are hoping to visit Knaresborough this week 😊 Did you pre book Mother Shipton's Cave? Thanks again Morgs Jo and Boo 🐕
Hello, hope you have a wonderful time, we didn't prebook just turned up but we were walking in rather than trying to park inside the attraction. I would imagine on a weekend the carpark might be full. I would make sure you arrive early if you are going on a weekend.
@@MemorySeekers thanks for getting back to us guys. I think we might park in the town and walk in as we would like to explore Knaresborough too. We've never visited before. Thanks for the info 👍 Your videos really help us plan many of our trips. Morgs Jo and Boo 🐕
Yes i am afraid we ran out of time, there was also some sort of event with hundreds of motorbikes over running the town. We managed to stay away from most of it but they filled the roads later in the day making it difficult to get about. We would have liked to have seen Mother Shipton Inn as well :(
