    Another wonderful place and video about it. But, do tell: do the locals pronounce Nineveh as you did here? That would be fascinating to know. And I believe there is some mythology surrounding cities being those with C of E Cathedrals. For instance, Chelmsford has had a cathedral for donkeys, but it only recently became a city. Please keep these coming. They are such a delight.

    As usual thanks for your high quality presentation. Haven’t visited for some years now, however if anything the town looks even nicer than I remember. My brother and I used to have a joke between us from the days, not so very long ago, when English food had its deserved bad reputation. It concerned possibly the worst , most pathetic salad lunch I’ve ever experienced and we subsequently referred to it as the “Arundel Salad”. Fortunately there’s been a food revolution in the U.K. in recent years so we can confidently consign that situation to history but we can still have a good laugh about it.

    This must be one of the most accomplished travel videos of an English town. Having only started my channel 11months ago I realise how much more I have to learn about producing quality travel videos. The image quality, pacing, music. voiceover information and camera movement are all techniques that contribute to the pleasure of viewing this portrait of Arundel. I even learnt a bit about family history in that the River Arun was once the river Tarrant which was my wife's maiden name and whose father was a canon of Chichester cathedral along the coast. Thank you.

      Thank you for watching, and good luck with your channel. We are still learning and improving each video. I would just say, make your videos in a way that allows you to enjoy the places you visit. Don't get too hung up thinking about shots to much and how it will come out at the end. See and experience the place and just record as you go. That way it will still be fun and you have a relaxing day out at the same time. All the best!

But we used Arundel more as a jumping off point to see other things, although we visited the cathedral when the flower festival was on and I didn't have the strength to visit the castle. Now we've seen your taster, would very much like to return & find all those yummy shops and do the castle - once I can get on a plane again. Many memories there. In the 1960s I worked for the West Sussex Gazette as their photographer, based at the offices in Arundel High Street across the road from the castle. (The original printing works for the paper, long gone, was in Tarrant Street). The town has become far more touristy since those days, but its charm remains. It's a long time since I was last able to visit it, and I shall probably never be back, unfortunately, but your video was very welcome.

    This town reminds me of the 'town' / city in the book by Ken Follett about the building of a cathedral with wool money, I wonder ...

    Tarrant is from the word torrent meaning river, there are many villages in Dorset with the prefix tarrant that are all alongside the River Tarrant too!

    Isn't it odd that the Duke of Norfolk's family seat is in Sussex??

      Seems odd but happens more often than you think. For example Duke of Devonshire (Chatsworth House) is actually in Derbyshire?

    One question from a beginner. How long did it take you to collect all the footage to make this wonderful video?

    • @MemorySeekers
      @MemorySeekers  Год назад +1

      We visited in a day, and it takes about 2 weeks of editing and research to produce a video, working 4 or 5 hours a day on it. Just depends on the location and length of video as well.
